  1. Hey guys I have used the first release of Windows Vista 64-bit edition for 4 months. It's been great experiencing the new graphical environment of vista. One thing I appreciate is the new feature in the My Computer where you can directly see and know your hard disks' current capacity by just looking at the figures behind the drive letter's icon. Drivers would not be a problem if you have LATEST Vista compliant hardware. If you use vista as your home OS you encounter less problems than using it as a workstation OS.Vista is VERY weak and slow when copying or pasting/moving files from and to another media or partition! Especially when you do it in 'bulk' transfers. Even transferring a 700MB .avi movie would be heavy for Vista.

  2. I'm warning you guys about these spyware/rootkit that infected my system 2 days ago. Rootkits are really hard to exterminate considering the fact that it is hidden in windows/system32 folders. The rootkit is called wintems.com and executes during boot up into many executables running in the background such as hdlrrr.exe, 123546.exe, 136587.exe, etc.!

Here's my screenshot when I scan my PC with 5 antivirus and anti-spyware apps: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/

The filename is associated with the malware group Trojan.Spambot.Some files using the name WINTEMS.EXE are also associated with the malware groups:

    * Worm.Beagle.DZ
    * Trojan.Mitglieder

These files have no vendor, product or version information specified in the file header.
WINTEMS.EXE has been seen to perform the following behavior(s):

    * The Process is packed and/or encrypted using a software packing process
    * This Process Deletes Other Processes From Disk
    * This Process Creates Other Processes On Disk
    * Executes a Process
    * Adds Products to the system registry
    * Adds a Registry Key (RUN) to auto start Programs on system start up
    * Creates a TCP port which listens and is available for communication initiated by other computers
    * Can communicate with other computer systems using HTTP protocols
    * Sends email using SMTP protocols
    * Registers a Dynamic Link Library File
    * Makes outbound connections to other computers using NETBIOSOUT protocols
    * Modifies the Windows Host File which could be used to stop you visiting specific web sites by redirecting you to alternative addresses without you knowing
    * Writes to another Process's Virtual Memory (Process Hijacking)
    * Enables the system to use a Communications Proxy Server

  3. MAKE MONEY ONLINE RIGHT NOW

It DOES NOT take to be an expert in computers, it takes only an average person to earn money while you're sitting or sleeping! You ONLY need to have a personal computer and Internet connection at home, then you can start earning money

THIS IS WHAT A C.E.O. TELLS TO EVERYONE WHO WANTS TO EARN:

    NO! NO!! NO!!!

I CANNOT Help You Make MILLIONS!

I CANNOT Even Help You Make Hundreds of THOUSANDS of Dollars!!

I can only help you make $200 to $2,000 every month, just like thousands of our other members...

READ THIS FIRST!! - A Very Frank & Candid Message From The CEO

I know that the amount of $200 to $2,000 per month is not as huge as some 5000-odd other websites claim to help you make, and I am proud

    of it.

Because what we are able to do for our members is help them earn REAL extra money online that they can take home every month, by

helping them make good use of their spare time.

Getting actual cash in your hands every month is much better than just dreaming about making hundreds of thousands but not getting paid a

single cent for all your efforts.

I make no false claims and do not talk about unrealistic amounts that are way out of reach of the average person. I do not believe or make

claims that it's "easy" to make thousands online.

If that was true, wouldn't it mean the end of poverty in this world?

  4. check if the microphone JACK is properly plugged on to the back panel sound card (pink color coded) or front panel if you have. Check for the microphone wire not rumbled. Have an updated sound driver, of course compatible with your hardware. Check at Control Panel - Sounds, Speech, and Audio Devices - Sound and Audio Devices - at Properties point to Voice, then choose which one is appropriate for your system.

  5. Its seems that Plextor has passed over the fisic limit of speed DVD burning rate.
The Manufecters had an agreement about maximum speed to DVD burning that was 16x ( 21MB/s]. This limitation existed because wasn't possible increase the speed over the 11.000 rpm without damage fisicly the DVD. But Plextor announced a new DVD+- RW - PX-760A that attchive the 25MB/s what is equal to 18x speed. Plextor says that this speed can be used by +/- R certificated DVD 16x in the market. Also will be able to burn DVD+R Dual Layer ( 8,5 GB) to 10x.

SOmeday we will have INSTANT BURN :) , its just a ideia. :)

Do you know that music/video pirates use much faster burners to duplicate dvd/cd? They are using devices which can copy unto cds/dvds and could only take shorter time at multiple copies per session. Obviously, they are of very low qualities.

  6. hey i haven't tried burning an ISO onto a hard drive (call it mount, not burn). You can use Virtual Drives applications to mount ISO on a hard drive, it should be bootable if the ISO file you are mounting a bootable one. These apps can create temporary virtual drives (e.g. partition, CD/DVD drive) where you can place ISO files to be used on specific tasks.

  7. my very first email add was from Eudora, my 2nd email add was from Yahoomail which I signed up 5 years ago. Unfortunately, I lost my email address from Yahoo I was really really wondering what had happened. Was it because someone hacked into my account and changed my password? I don't think that may happened my password is a combination of 'non-standard charcaters', I mean it isn't a usual combination of characters. Could that be because of Yahoo's mail server that will not accept different kind of password combinations?..my password worked fine afterall, just 5 months ago in was gone I could not log on anymore, I don't think I forgot my username or password coz I kept a copy of it.

  8. hey guys, it is really amusing to build or create animated GIF's using Photoshop CS3 Extended. The procedures are quite straightforward, you make a 'NEW' project (depends on your own preferences), then you prepare for the FRAMES (which you will fill with your preferred contents). To open 'Animation', point to the drop down menu ,'VIEW' then click 'Animation.' That will open a film like ribbon at the bottom of the photoshop environment which you will add frames on it and timings. Now you are ready to add contents on your 'new' project, CREATE layers for different contents you'll add and at the same time ADD frames, each layer would correspond ANOTHER frame, in which you preferably make an animation (sequence, timings, the way it will appear/disappear, etc.). Then of course you save your project as 'gif' format. When saving, point to FILE, then '...save as Web & Devices.."It's quite easy, get used to it for awhile.

That's very good combination of monster hardware! But I doubt the maximum compatibility. The tower casing you've chosen comes with an aging PSU (420W) which I would say not very adequate for that system you'll make, you better start with a 600-700W PSU or higher the better (with good cooling system). Second, you better go with Vista Ultimate 64-bit!!! that's the trend especially for a system like this. Third, if you if you buy a DVD-ROM/Writer make it a Samsung.

Most importantly, I recommend AMD System! that would give you price-performance ratio you'll not regret! AMD Phenom 9700 with 790FX Chipset. You should have the Corsair dominator series memory 4GB or 2GB would be enough.

Of course the latest DUAL CORE video card from AMD ATI (HD3870 X2) the fastest in the market today! the soundcard and network card would be onboard no problem. A motherboard ASUS M3A32-MVP Deluxe AM2+ socket would be great. Your power protection device is good. These would save you more than a couple of hundred dollars with monster performance.

  10. I also experience that same problem you have man, not once but thrice already. That's not so cumbersome or hard to eliminate that spyware or malware messing around your system. Anti-virus would be so helpful so you must have it all day running at your system's background, but Anti-virus would not be enough you must have anti-spyware, anti-rootkits, anti-hacker installed some of these are bundled in a third-party protection software -I recommend AVG or Kaspersky. That culprit you have is an executable file, it usually disguises or embeds or even create an identical file (same filename and extension) of vital Windows components or services running in your system. I runs and executes every time you boot your system and then starts to annoy or destroy your day!To deal with with this, you can first identify what it is (if your curious enough) if not obliterate it with a good anti-spyware directly. You can open up your task manager and point to processes, there you can review what are the processes running. Usually in disguises itself as svchost.exe, spoolsv.exe, daemon.exe, cftmon.exe, isass.exe. If you find unusual running then you have to scan your system, preferably at Safe Mode to get successful results.

  11. I've been using Microsoft Word 2007 and the MS Office Package 2008 since the very first beta release in 2006 and now I got the full version and planning to update to SP1. My general impression? "It's beautiful! It's overhauled to a new look! Really." But of course, the very first time of using MS Word 07 was a bit confusing for me and I thought to myself, "I wish it still looks like MS Word 2003!" But then of course I was in a 'new' environment so I have to adjust like everybody does. MS Word 2007's drop down menus are very well arranged (a bit confusing if your used from previous versions of course). I'm using the 'mail merge' feature back in the Office 2003 version, but when i migrated to Word 2007 a little problem on finding and starting using the feature occurred. what I did was create a new one to get it running from the drop dow menus -"Mailings--Start Mail Merge-Letters."
Big CONS on MS Office 2008 was the compatibility issue (which was later solved by Microsoft) of opening and running documents on the previous versions which are created from Office 2007. If you want to install compatibility pack, here's the link: http://techhive.blogspot.de/

  12. Hello there, regarding about your hard disk problem may I ask did you transfer your HD to another computer? And do you mean that, after you have transferred your hard disk to another PC it booted NORMALLY onto the OS, no problem at all?Assuming that your HD is recognized in the BIOS during boot up, but your problem is getting the Windows boot up screen to appear this would mean another problem with your 'new' PC (the system where you've transferred your HD). It is because the pre-installed OS on your hard disk -including its system configurations, & hardware drivers are different on that 'new' PC. It cannot be recognized by that pre-installed OS on your HD. Assuming if that's the case.

  13. You need to have a network server, or a pc connected to your own computer. Linux installation tutorials has a detailed instructions on this process, you can visit http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ (for openSUSE distro).
Or if you have a large usb flash drive capacity 3GB or 4GB, you can configure your PC to boot through that flash drive and begin your installation following a detailed procedure on how to do it succesfully, visit https://www.pendrivelinux.com/

  14. I haven't YET tried installing DOOM or Warcraft on my Mac 10.4 Tiger (I still don't know if it's compatible with my OS version). I'm using XP SP2 and Mac on my computer. Really, 'heavy' games are just so smooth on Windows OSes... though I haven't tried it on Mac. I'm just in to 2D games (in my Mac), which are compatible of course. But with my XP, I play Crysis, STALKER, and DOOM 3.Why play it on your Mac? Be contented with Windows if you have it...

  15. Say if there hadn't been a telephone, there wouldn't be an Internet today.if there is no Internet today, then obviously life wouldn't be that simpler. But there should be an 'exclusive Internet' and that would be the mighty military of the US. Right? Because historically the Internet, as we call it today, was an exclusive technology used by the military more than 30 years ago.If Internet is deprived from the public today, then porno would still be in the streets today..heheheOne last thing, if Internet doesn't exist today then Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, etc. are billions poorer today, and no spams, no hackers!

  16. Most people agree and I agree that strategy games are the LESS boring or boringLESS games you can hook up with, it can stick your *bottom* on the chair for 12 hours or more!I recommend WarCraft or Dota it's the most addictive game in our place. Few years back, I can recall Gundam Wing. Or you could try super mario! on a quad-core system! ehehehe

  17. Most of my friends are into http://www.friendster.com/, this is a free photo storage site, isn't it? Just like Facebook, MySpace, Multiply.com, etc..
Friendster had just added a new feature into their system where you can store and make albums of your most cherished photos. You can make albums available for public viewing or make it a private album that only persons you've granted access can see your photos.

Well, if your bother about it's storage capacities, Friendster now can store more than 400 photos into their system. Unlike before it can only store up to 30 or 50 photos. Anyways, it's data centers are constantly upgrading every month.

  18. good day. I just want to share or express my views regarding this topic. Is the design of a team's winning or losing prediction includes every possible, inevitable circumstances that may come along in the future and the rest of a team's existence? Let's say, just like in a varsity team, every player or at least 1 player is surely not a permanent player that can participate in all games. Some players for sure are for short span of time only. This, of course can affect, degrade, or even ruin a team's credibility especially if it's a winning team. Let's say I have a very good prediction that this team will win, considering the team's winning streak and history. But unfortunately during a scheduled game a vital player meets an accident, another player is fouled-out, and in another scheduled game your coach couldn't make it for that day for a valid reason. How do you 'justify' your predictions? Or have your ever considered this situational problem to able to make your predictions close to accuracy? I'm sure you do.It's my first time to hear about this kind of project and I like it. I'll be keeping in touch with this thread. Very nice start. Thanks.
