Well i thought it would just be fun, know what i mean. I wouldnt design it to commercialize, just cuz i wanted to have fun, but if people liked it and thought it was good than that would be cool. Tell you the truth though i dont really have a good answer to --Well, why would you want to create another language without any skills?the only real reason i could say is beacuase i think it would be cool for someone to be like oh yeah that guy made his own programmming language lol...Which no one would probably ever do but i just think it would be neat thats all

How hard would it be to make a language. I want to make one like PHP and more basic than basic. I want my language to be the preferred starter, and really good for making games on the internet. I know little php and any other languages, but im very good with dreamweaver and know enough html to fill in when dreamweaver lacks. However i think this language would be pretty cool if it ran with MySQL like php does. Any Thoughts??

MY knowlegeOk, i know absolutly very little, i know some javascript,and im reading up on JavaScript, PHP, MySQL, and if i need to i will be reading about HTML. I havent the slightest idea in "bleep" (dont know if swearing is against the rules...) of being able to script this without more reading, i dont know what script languages i need to know, i dont know about data bases. Can i make a website using javaScript?What i want to makeI know what i want to make. I want to make a game like the one at https://tycoononline.nu/ and like http://www.honouredsociety.org/, and games like that, its going to be about makeing a business.DetailsAt the beging you get said amount of cash, you choose a profession, law, farming, oil, crime, stuff of the nature. When you make a bussiness, or crime family you have shares or something else for the crime, but you cant automaticlly make a bussiness, you need to get investors and stuff like that, you never get to see your skills, but you get skills when you star. The game will be a real time game like in 5 min intervals. if you own a bussiness then you need employes, a warehouse, and other things. so you have your investors and you click on create bussiness, this brings a page with all avalible bussinesses. say woodcutters,paper maker, oil rig, refiner. or you can make a shop where you sell these things the game will be in 50 day periods. there will be rank systems much like in tycoononline, and stuff like that.Upon registration an email will be sent to your email account, you will get the username and password of your choice. and other regulation things of that nature, also a forum, and id liek to itegrate a chat at the bottom of the page like AIM. also the users would have a mmessage system, like in most games.Members will get charts, unlimited game play, no loading screens, and more things. Membership will cost like 5-10 dollars a round (round is 50 days).Non-members will be only alowed to log on 4 times per day, for 30 min ea time. NM wont get charts or anything to help them decide if its a good investment besides raw numbers and stuff.AstahostWhat comes with the Xisto. My book says you need PHP software, Apache software, and MySQL software, does that come with the Xisto services. What does 30 credits get you, i need like lamans terms defintion, im still trying to get ahold of all this. Hello, im jeff H and im making a game called BigBusiness and i know what i want to do, i just need someone with game making experince. Im learning php, MySQL, HTML, and JavaScript. As i said i know what i want, i just have no direction. i hope to make a buch of online multiplayer games, and i think if someone helps me out and kinda walks me through this one then ill have a good idea what i need to do, what to start doing and all that. I requested a Hosting account here, and Xboxrulz siad i was good to go, i just have to wait for an admin to do his/her thing. I also want it so i can test my self and mabye piece together my game that way, and as i am being quite active here i figyred that because ive been a member for such a short time, and already have like 30 credits (not for long) i might as well test my knowledge with the first package.What do you mean test it on my own pc? Wouldnt that mean i just go to my website and play it? well the reason i wanted to was because i didnt know HTML and didnt really wabnt to learn it, but i went to a tutorial site and figured it was way easy, and if i was stummped i could just go back to the tutorial. Right now im learning PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, and i know a touch of HTML as i stated above, so i just didnt want to add the load. I guess thats what happens when you get the ambtion to make the text based onling game i want to make lol. Usually when i get an idea like this i know nothing of it. IT looks good, i wouldnt play it for the simple fact that im not into those kinda games, but the screen shots i saw were nothing short of amazing. If you cant already you should make it so that you can open stores in the cities for other people to buy your stuff, i think that would be cool. real actors would be cool, but kinda costly id guess. What i would look for is how easy it is to beat. IF theres a demo, the would i be able to beat it in the demo, if not would i want to keep going, and buy it? Would the demo be so short that it makes me mad and doesnt get me hooked. What i can think of is mabye like when you start theres like a bunch of people to compete with (is this like an online one, like interactive or Player V.S. computer?) like say 30 npcs then when you move up theres 25 then like 20 then mabye 17, 14, 12, 10, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, then you win or something. But you can only get up to the 12 mark in the demo(if theres a demo at all). I think that if this game is good, much like the ones on http://download.cnet.com/windows/ you could have that company that does like the 1 hour trials do it for you those games sell for $20ea and i must say ive bought a couple. I could be vary wrong in what im about to say, but i dont think so. Im learning HTLM PHP MySQL and JavaScript, im pretty far into the JS book and on page 70 in the HTML book and HTML seems kinda easy compared to JS. Everythings kinda obvious, just search for a tutorial and learn it really quick, i think it would help you more if you learned it then if you HTML builder built it. I know that for myself id have a greater sense of pride for it if i actully made it from scratch. Thanks just me though, and my opinion.Thanks,Zemon1

i have it, but 1 it doesnt work for the kinda game i want to make (i really didnt look that hard though). 2, it seems like i dont need to do much anything to make the game, its like sombody else made the game and i just got the ideas, not my type. BUT if that the way you want to do it then its a wonderful program, im not dissin anyone that made a game like that cuz im sure it was still hard, but i just dont like that method.

im learning php mysql and javascript and that was quite helpful for the php portion, kinda seems a little easier than java...

ok, actully tomarrow, i want to go out and get a book , PHP and Mysql for dummies, and im on summer vacation so i can spend 5-12 hours on it, depending on what im doing with my friends.
