  1. Do you have older computers with older versions of Windows on it? Then you may need older versions of software that will work perfectly with your older operating systems. But where do you find them? Take a walk to oldversion.com and take a gander at the 1910 software versions of 152 programs. These are arranged in 9 distinct categories of Communication, Graphics, Multimedia, Internet, File sharing, Utilities, Security, Enterprise, and FTP.

Under Communication you will find old versions of software like Eudora, Gaim, Skype, Google talk and Yahoo messenger. Under Graphics, you will be able to download old copies of Macromedia Fireworks, Paint shop pro, Paint.Net, swish and terregan. The 2nd largest category of Multimedia contains gems like DivX, iTunes, Goldwave, Macromedia Flash, Musicmatch Jutebox, Realplayer, and Windows Mediaplayer. You will find old versions of AOL, Opera, Mozilla Firefox, Maxthon, and Internet Explorer browsers in the Internet category.

There are known File Sharing software like eDonkey, BitComet, BitTorrent, Kazaa, Morpheus and LimeWire available for download. The biggest category is Utilities. Famous software like Winzip, Acrobat reader, DirectX, Google Earth, Google toolbar, Java platform, phpBB, RoboForm and Ruby programming are all here.

For your Security there are a few firewalls namely Outpost Firewall, Sygate Personal Firewall, Tiny Personal Firewall, and ZoneAlarm. For your Enterprise systems there is Macromedia Dreamweaver, and Norton Ghost. Lastly, there are 4 known FTP software BPFTP Server, Bulletproof FTP, CuteFTP, and WS_FTP Limited Edition.

Please note that the above are for the most part only a sampling of the programs that are available. So even if you have an older computer you don't have to be left out in the cold anymore.

  2. Did you ever wonder if there was a one stop "shop" for web designers? Well there is, and it is better than a shop. It is a free compilation of websites and tutorials on Html, color, css, font, icons, images, tutorials, widgets and even some inspiration thrown in to keep you company. This is all linked together into one toolbox website.

And where does the mySpace concept come in? Since this is a toolbox you can add your own tools to the toolbox and it will stay up on the website for 30 days.

  3. OK. The title of this post is wrong. CATHOLICS ARE CHRISTIANS. Period. They were the FIRST christians. if anything, it should be Christians vs. Protestants as it makes a lot more sense.
    Sigh.

Catholics made a Religion out of Christianity. With the early Christian church, this wasn't so. The mass has so much in common with the Jew's temple worship and sacrifices. The Jews today actually read a certain scripture every Sabbath, they are all doing the same thing at the same time. So do the Catholic churches for the most part.

Alot of what Catholics do stems from the Jewish religion. Take the dress of the priests for example. They are wearing flowing gowns almost identical to the old testament time Jewish priests dress.

The Jewish temple sacrifice of the animals was presented to God every Sabbath and there were even daily sacrifices. Well, doesn't the priest hold up the cup and the bread, representing Christ, saying God accept this sacrifice. However, in all honesty, wake up---Jesus is no longer on the cross, He has risen!

Hence, he should no longer be on any crucifixes, nor should he be "sacrified" any longer. He paid the price for our sins once and for all. This is where True christians, catholic or otherwise, say that you must accept Jesus into your heart; you must be Born again, to be saved to be called truly a Christian.

  4. "linux is free but not very userfriendly while windows is very very userfriendly"

I disagree, and it is not so much that I like Linux, which I do, but please take a look at Xandros Linux. You can download it from here:
    http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/

It looks and acts so much like windows except for different but similar names. Instead of a Start button you have a Launch button and instead of a Recycle Bin you have a Trash icon and so on and so forth.

  5. Enjoy looking at photos and need a Photo Gallery on your website or even your personal computer? Proficient in Html but still need a template to speed things up? Sometimes you take a bunch of pictures and would like to arrange them in a pleasing display.

Magic Gallery 4.5.13 provides you with templates and allows you to effortlessly display your images in an html file. Publishing your pictures to the web is painless and directed with four easy steps.

First, select your pictures by clicking on Add Pictures. The picture will appear in the right pane to preview it. Repeat until you have chosen all your images. Click on Next. You will be taken to the Publishing options tab page. Here you mainly save it to either your computer or to a website via ftp. You can also send someone an email announcement telling them about your new Photo gallery. Click on Next again to Choose your template. Here you select one out of 12 templates included in the software. Each selection immediately shows a preview in the right-hand pane. Selecting Check for New Templates is supposed to take you to their online Raizlabs site for more templates to choose from. Clicking Next on this page produces a pop up entitled Enter text for your gallery.

This popup asks, âWhat is the name of your gallery? Below this is a textbox where you can enter the title of your gallery as well as describe your pictures as well. After hitting OK, you are taken to the final tab called Preview and edit. There is very limited editing here which includes the usual Bold, Italics, and Underlining of all selected text as well as limited change of font type and size. In addition, the color palette is there along with the addition of bullets numbered and unnumbered. When you are satisfied, click on Finish and wait a moment. Voila! An Internet Explorer browser appears before your eyes opening up an html file composed of your picture gallery.

Are you afraid that once you put your image up on the web, anyone can come along and steal it, claiming it as yours? Put a watermark on it by pressing Select Tools, then Edit Watermark and the Watermark Options page will popup. Choose the Watermark Type: No Watermark, Text Watermark, and Image Watermark. For Text Watermark, you type in whatever text you want to appear on your picture. Image Watermark allows you to open up a browse window where you can select a background image as a watermark and only here can select the level of transparency. A slider bar set farthest to the left, shows the watermark in all its glory. Setting the slider bar all the way to the right makes your watermark virtually disappear.

By going to Tools -> Options you can adjust how your gallery and thumbnails are produced. You have a slider bar with Smaller file on the low side to Higher Quality on the high scale. You can size your photos automatically with a template, custom size all photos or produce it at the original photo size. Be aware that the last option would be the slowest, as it would most probably use a huge amount of pixels, thereby making a very large file.

A strange thing occurred after the application was closed from the status bar. The Tip of the Day as well as the program appeared smaller in size- about 4â x 4â. Until a person realizes that you can grab the edges and pull it back to the size you want, it is a bit disconcerting.

    Additional features:

    Tip of the Day

    User Forum â https://www.raizlabs.com/?s=asp+forum

    Dynamically refresh Template List âF5

    Additional languages for this program

Template folder â contains jpg preview files

Larger galleries âdirectly from Excel spreadsheets

    FTP gallery to your website

The helpful information beneath each tab lets you know your options on that page. This is much better than trying to figure it out on your own. For those who do not know Html, this is a wonderful program allowing you in 4 easy steps to publish your picture images to the web, whether online or not. For those who do know Html it is a bit stiff to use. Would like to see a page dedicated to advanced users where they can play with the html directly to create the specific look they want.

In creating your magic gallery html file you are directed by the Next buttons which include brief description of your options beneath each tab page you enter. This directed navigation in creating a Picture Gallery is very much appreciated. One nice feature in the Preview and edit page is the ability to drag and drop the pictures and text just before you create the html gallery file.

There are some bugs and limitations to this program, however. For instance, the software may tell you it is looking for files ending in htm, when actually it has default as the name and the program wants you to rename the file. Also, while attempting to create a new magic gallery htm file, the program suddenly popped up a notice that the Magic Gallery has changed and would you like to save your work. Thereafter the application disappeared from the screen. Had to click on the icon and go to File-> Open to browse for my started work. Lastly, the freak change in size, could initially cause some concern. The bottom line is this: if a program is not stable, Magic Gallery has no business charging for it.

Magic Gallery is so simple to use, and even a guided path makes this Magic Gallery a must-have software. Nonetheless, with shareware we have come to expect lots of bells and whistles and even the ability to customize the software to our tastes- Magic Gallery has little of these. Hence, for this reason as well as its unstability, its rating suffers. Yes, $34.95 is a small price to pay for streamlined directed navigation in creating ones own picture gallery. Had the softwareâs authors spent a little more time including extra features, Magic Gallery would have been given rave reviews.

  6. Beware of what people of all ages are building with them. Some come in kits and others are created and displayed only from the author's imagination.

One type of kit that is catching on fast is the Mindstorm kit. Why? These kits allow the builder to make a robot with the Robotics Invention System 2.0 that allows one to program a robot to go around corners and detect intruders using light sensitivity. Even the Earl of Wessex received a Lego Robot from the participants all vying for the Duke of Edinburgh's International Youth Award in Luxembourg.

Then there are the Lego machines that are fully functional. Go to the Top Ten Coolest Lego Gadgets to see some examples. A Simon memory machine and a music machine that uses colors to tell it what sound to play all both made from Mindstorms. There is a working vending machine, a pinball machine, and a robot that plays Connect Four. Take the wild wild west to your office, when you need a break, with a rapid fire rubberband gun---better check with your superiors first so they don't think its a gun! Some impressive action Lego machines are a Rocket Launcher, a Crossbow and a CD thrower. There is even an action packed video of the Lego Crossbow.

See more professional Lego items at the Top Ten Strangest Lego Creations. The most original and artistic one is a sculpture of a man in Hans Solo in Carbonite. A lifesize replica of the Blue Volvo XC90 and a working latest model of the Carriers air conditioner, also blue as well do look the most professional, but then the Harpsicord, Pinball machine with its four legs and the working knitting machine all are runners up for the 2nd spot. Finally there is gMac computer made from a Macintosh LC 475 , a NES case, a Mathematical Difference engine, even a Pinhole camera and a working USB drive.

Multiple Lego computer cases are a hobby of Dorian.

Let's not forget the Lego Exclusive projects that cost $299. Death Star II and Imperial Star Destroyer look like masterpieces.

Lately Lego gadget holders are even being made. See a Nintendo DS charging dock that has room for about 7 games and 3 stylus. Another person built a white Lego handheld holder that has pockets for a 8525, DS lite and his iPod.

What gadget can you think of making? Buyer beware! You might turn into a Lego fanatic too!

  7. Do you have a lot to type, but so little time to type it? Do you drive long distances to work and back and want to take advantage of the extra time? Do you enjoy the long break to work where you can gather your thoughts, but arenât able to get them onto paper?

Speech to Text v2.35 allows you to speak while it types what you say either in its own text editor or in MS Word. Your own voice commands turn different functions on and off. Immediately upon opening the Speech to Text program the Speech Recognition Engine appears where you create individual profiles and embark on a training program that will fine tune the engine to recognize your individual speech patterns.

Before downloading Speech to Text be sure to download and install the Microsoft Speech Recognition engine. First, it will lead you to configure your microphone through a series of interactive screens. Next you will be asked to create an unique profile. This profile goes through at least 1 speech recognition training. You read slowly and clearly what is on each successive screen. As the words are highlighted by the engine, you can continue reading the specific training text. It is advised that you go through at least 3 training sessions with the Speech Recognition engine. Remember to speak slowly and enunciate each and every word. You will find the engine keeping up with you this way. If you speed up, you will find the engine lagging way behind and you will have to repeat entire sentences.

Eventually, the Speak-to Text software will appear without the Speech Recognition engine popping up first. No problem, simply go to your Control Panel and double click on the Speech icon. Click on Train Profile and select one of the 8 sessions listed for training. Or, easier yet, click on the 3rd from last icon in the Icon menu.

To turn on the microphone go to Tools menu and select Microphone on/off. Click and you will see a check in front of the menu selection. Another way is to depress the slanted lollipop icon in the middle of the Icon menu.

Tools menu and select on Train word is a way to establish the pronunciation of individual words. Don't expect to use this extensively as a way to train the Speech Recognition engine. Sentence structure is where it is at.

Tools menu and select Setting bring a person to four tabs, General, Greeting, Formatting, and User Commands. Formatting allows you to force all numbers from 0 to 20 as numbers instead of text . You can also do Background noise filtering whereby you Enable filtering of background noise for dictation and/or Enable filtering of background noise for commands.

    Additional features:

    Save in Word

    Open PDF and create PDF

    Clear Speech Buffer

Listening for okay, cancel, apply, and tab

    Create custom commands

It was enjoyable to have speech recognition by this software at least 60% of the time after the first three Speech Recognition engine training sessions during the very first use of this software. However, the real frustrations came when the engine did not recognize individual profiles that had already been created causing a person to redo the training sessions. It also seemed as if the more training sessions were attempted, the less recognition was apparent. Wake up became leg up and Okay was heard as FDA. Perhaps this inability to remember profiles and the training sessions already completed is limited to the SpeakToText trial version.

  8. Do you have some data that is worthwhile but getting old and musty? Why not pick a Data Visualization method and watch people flock to view it.
It is called Infosthetics where the sky is the limit to using your imagination.

Some examples are Baby Name Voyageur where you can have fun using a Web 2.0 graph that gives you the popularity of a name depending on the year you choose. With blue streams being boy names and pink streams being girl names a soon-to-be parent would have a lot of fun picking out a new name. Another dynamic source of data visualization is digg labs that produces story titles as bubbles that move around against a black background. These story titles Swarm as a group but the same stories can be found in a Stack of multicolored bars or a BigSpy list of varied font sizes.

So data doesn't have to be stodgy anymore, it can be entertaining as well as educational.

  9. These 3 different telescopes have somehow captured the complexity of the heavens we gaze into at night. With brilliant hues of burgundy and red satin, they have painted an intricate picture of havoc in the galaxy involving comets, and stars and even Saturn. Why use paintbrushes when you have infared telescopes? Space dusts that swirl around a red eye goes from a light blue to an olive hue. How do they know what an impression they are making!View the pics at http://news.a.com.com/

What happens when Hydrogen gas is excited by hot iron gas? Since the hydrogen gas is so dense you can see blue streaks left by the hot iron gas and the orange you see is the hydrogen gas. Hence, we see some more spectacular displays in the Nebula of Orion here at

  10. Do you have a website but just can't find the right logo or design to identify yourself to the world? Why not make it in Blender and render it in your website. Do you have the blueprints to your new home but just can't envision the completed product? Why not let Blender put it into the 3D for you. Have some boring home videos that need some action ? Why not let Blender build some aliens or alien craft insert them(it) into your home video. That is sure to spice it up and make it interesting and entertaining to watch.

Blender 2.43 allows you to create 3-D objects whether it is used in still or motion pictures and/or websites. Recent additions have been the Character Animation rewrite , Fluid Dynamics, improved Particle Based Hair and the Modifier Stack. You can render blender objects to place into websites or even embed them into video clips.

Some history of Blender is that some years ago it was solely proprietary, but was less developed than it is today. Hence, when it did poorly in the marketplace it was dropped. Someone did front the money to purchase the rights to the software and then made it Open Source. This has allowed collaboration by a number of developers to the advanced state of the Blender application to date. Just 3 months ago an Undo feature was added that we have come to expect as standard feature with any software.

Starting with the Blender User Interface the most prominent is the 3D window which is a large gray grid with a selected pink box (the standard plane) in the middle with 2 arrows at a 90 degree angle to each other. Also don't forget the large black dot off the side that is surrounded by 2 circles- one solid and one dashed which is your lamp. The black 3D triangle down at the bottom on the right side is the camera and the black cross hairs with the red and white circle joining them is the 3D cursor. To make the camera fully visible you may need to select the bottom edge of the gray grid and move it downward. One usage for the 3D cursor is as the center for rotation or scaling. You can also use the 3D cursor to pinpoint the location of new objects.

Below the 3D window is the Buttons window. Each window has a Header menu. The Button window's is at its top, but it is at the bottom of the 3D window. There are six Modes to be selected from: Edit, Object, UV Face Select, Vertex, Texture, and Weight Paint. There are four Orientations: Global, Local, View, and Normal. There are six Panels: Scene, Editing, Object, Shading, Script and Logic. Next to Panels in the Button header is an Icon Slider menu that is composed of icons each representing a different Panel.

To view the Toolbox containing 7 basic functions place your mouse in the 3D window and press the space bar on your keyboard: Add, Edit, Select, Transform, Object, View and Render. By selecting Add, then Mesh then UVSphere then Resolution 32, you will see a yellow mesh sphere appear in the 3D window that is of lower resolution. A choice of high resolution creates a smoother object, but the drawback is more memory usage which can slow down manipulation and rendering time. Remember you can equally use your keyboard or your mouse to create in Blender.

    Additional features:
    10 Mesh Objects
    5 Curves
    6 Surfaces
    5 Meta objects
    5 Lamp types
    5 Draw types
    9 Views

With Blender you can make that unique logo that was so difficult to design in other 2-dimensional graphic/photo software. Once you have down the computer keys and all the buttons and drop down items in Blender the sky is the limit with the things you can do. You may say, I have a slower computer with little hard drive space to spare. It doesn't matter as, for Windows, the install executable is under an unbelievable 7 mg for all its strength and versatility. Also, for you Linux users, Blender comes in 4 different flavors and even has 2 flavors for Mac users.

Be patient with this software, do not, I repeat, do not dive right in without getting a hold of one of the many step-by-step tutorials that are out on the Web. This will save you the frustration of being a newbie and allow you to gently see what Blender can do instead of just chucking it out because it didn't perform the way you expected it to. There is a moderate learning curve, but the rewards are well worth the training time spent.

  11. Truly you can not beat the simple usability of Mp3MyMP3. You can record audibly anything within hearing distance of your computer or laptop once you install the free software version 2.0. With or without a PC microphone the sound clarity is crisp and clear. Using the computers sound card may affect the quality of the recording, as there may be ringing or less volume in it. Once you remember a few key things, you are off and running with many happy hours of sound recordings. So pay attention to the Mp3MyMP3 2.0 instructions that follow.

Here are some snapshots of the Mp3MyMP3 software at http://lygo.com/ly/sitemissing.html

The gearbox menu quickly changes into a configurable menu with multiple skins. Pressing the vertical SKINS menu opens up a browser allowing you to choose a skin (picture) from your hard drive. Otherwise you can just press Built-in Skin to select from the 22 available in the MP3myMP3 program. You can choose from green maple leaves to the desert sand to abstracts to circuitry to yellow sunflowers. There should be enough to fit every personality. By pressing a colored button on the far left side, you can change the program color too. The sound waves that MP3myMP3 is displaying are now visible in bright green, orange, red, violet, aqua or gray depending on which color you selected.

By clicking on the round button with the red dot in the middle (Start) you are in effect starting your recording. You can record with or without a PC microphone, but the background noise is averted if you use the microphone. Also, there may develop an annoying background ringing in the recording if you go it alone, that is, using the sound card only. You can do quick trial runs to determine optimum placement of the PC microphone if you are using a tabletop microphone. When you press the red round button, a gray round button appears. This one has a square box inside it, which turns white when it is pressed. After you are finished recording, a third gray round button appears. This third button has a green triangle in the middle which points to the right. Also you will now see two long oval Save buttons appearing below the three gray buttons. These Save buttons allow you to save the recording as a MP3 file or a WAV file. (Please note: WAV files take up almost 3 times the space as MP3 files.)

The simplest way to make a recording is to initially press the red gray button. Want to end your recording? Press the square box button. Wait for the Save button to be ungrayed out, and then, select where to save your recording. Since all files are given the name of newfile, do remember here to change the name to something meaningful to you and also assure that it wonât get overwritten at a later date. Do not close the application until the Saving notation disappears. This can take upwards of 5 minutes depending on how long your recording was. Remember, audio files take up a lot of space and so take a while to save.

One note of cautionâremember this is a simple recorder. Until you save your recording, do not press the red gray button. If you do and you have not yet saved your recording, it will be automatically deleted with no way of getting it back. By selecting the red gray button, you are in effect telling the application to begin recording, and this application does not do anything complex. Either you save what you have just recorded or you are deleting it and starting over.

  12. First what is Twitter?Twitter is a unique way of joining website people, cell phone people, and IM people, all answering one simple question---What are you doing? Some people are baking cookies, while other people are studying their English. Some people are watching Leno, working at their store, or doing an homework assignment. Supposedly a person could use Twitter to get advice on a purchase of say a specific camera type. So to try it out I cut and pasted about 20 email addresses of friends and colleagues and asked them about the cheapest Internet Service in my local city area. Twitter sent the invitation to join Twitter along with my message and then I hunkered down to wait. And I waited and I waited.......and I waited .....and I waited. Frankly, a week has gone by and I'm still waiting!Perhaps it takes certain personality types to make Twitter a success. Perhaps I am not one of those personality types. I really thought at least a couple of emails would be returned to me with my question answered. The only thing I can think of is that to my colleagues perhaps they thought it all very silly. I mean twitter sounds like a little birds name.Weigh in!!!! After looking at Twitter at https://mobile.twitter.com/i/nojs_router?path=%2F, will you tell Twitter what you are doing? Do you think this is the latest craze? Or do you think this will go away as soon as it has come?

  13. Is Christianiy true or just another pagan religion,,like some would say..Have you read the bible completely, if yes share with us what did you learn
If you did not read it completely,,could you explain the reasons??

Yes, and a thousand times yes. What I mean is that I read the Bible through no matter if it takes me 6 months, 1 year, 2 years or more. The Bible is a Living word in that the Holy Spirit quickens the word that is read and spoken. It becomes alive in the sense that certain verses seem to pop out of the page as you read the Word.

In that way you are being instructed and taught and you are gaining wisdom and understanding. The pieces of the Bilble that is the historical figures in the Bible seem to fit together better, the more that you read the Word. It ceases to amaze me that each time I read the Bible through I get new insight, and new understanding and hopefully more wisdom.

You see, wisdom is the acting out naturally of the knowledge and understanding that one has gained. Wisdom is the result of all ones time spent learning. And the saying actions speak louder than words is true here more than ever. Why? Because if one is quick to judge, if one is quick to be impatient and if one is quick to hate or just not to love others, than all the knowledge and understanding that one has been learning is null and void. Wisdom has not been gained in that case.

  14. I just want to call him out is all lol.

I hate to see this guy sitting around calling himself a christian with such disgusting beliefs and habits.

Taking a step back and looking at the guy, one starts to ask alot of questions--some to him, of course. If he calls himself a Christian, who is he serving anyway? Drinking, and smoking all serve himself, do they not? They all gratify the flesh, that is, make one feel good. A Chrisitian's body is the temple of the Holy Spirit and look how he is taking care of it! Again, a Christian is supposed to be one that serves Christ. Jesus even said that the two highest commandments were to Love one's neighbor as oneself and everything else hinges on this as well as Loving God with all one's heart and soul. So you see there is a whole lot at stake here. If he loves his daughter, how can he even suggest she become a stripper? If he loves God, why doesn't he stop, or attempt to stop drinking, drugging and smoking?

By his actions, he is saying that he loves himself more than he loves God. By his actions he is serving himself, not God.

  16. Israel physicists have developed a heat sensitive monomer. By attaching N-isopropylacrylamide to the surface of paper, and heating the paper to 33 degrees Celsius
the paper would into form different objects. These objects were as simple as wavy paper or as complex as an sombero. In the future similarly treated paper could produce an entire range of objects after being heated. These objects would form seconds to minutes after the paper came out of the printer. See https://www.engadget.com/tag/3d/ . What won't people think of next!

  17. Thanks for all the suggestions. It was a tie between Avira AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic and Free AVG until I went to free-AV.com and heard this weird noise. At first it sounded like some little engine. Then I watched the sponsor's ad that had some insects flying around. Then I noticed a bee that was literally buzzing and flying around. It sounded so real---too real. That settled it--didn't want to hear any insects where there was none, so Free AVG won hands down. (It may be an understatement to say that this may not be the most scientific way to have made my choice.) ;)

  18. Spacesuits will one day generate their own nanopower.

How about the protein prestin found in the cilia of the human ears. These prestin accept nanovoltages which they turn into cell elongation and contraction. The result is sound amplification.

The above protein is being investigated toward the day that similar proteins will cover astronauts suits and produce power from the astronauts movements. You can read more about it at
    https://www.newscientist.com/

  19. I think religion is a way of life. Some people took it so seriously that they started their will on others on the name of religion. Some even went farther and started killing and raping on the name of religion. All it is that depends on interpretation of every religion. Christianity and Islam are more conservative because they go by one book. While Buddhism, Sikhism and Hinduism seem to be freer in nature and more adaptive to change , they do not deliberately convert people.

I think you hit on two fundamental things. First, serving God needs to be a way of life. When we see someone else "missing it' then we need to pray to God to open their eyes to see what they should be doing or where they should go. This flows naturally into the second thing: that is, namely that converting people is Okay if it is done in a presenting method. Presenting means presenting Christ to someone if they are interested. Deliberately attempting to convert someone whether they are interested in God or not, is not only wrong, it is trampling the rights of others. Unfortunately, alot of times people do attempt to do this and do not see anything wrong with it.

Why can't we just see the value in another person and trust them and God enough to let them make their own decisions?

  20. I gave a pentium 3 computer to a friend who doesn't know much about computers. Lo and behold her family comes to live with her and they start playing games, entering into chats and myspace. Of course, now system doctor from Internet Explorer is telling her she has a dangerous level of viruses on her computer.Could you recommend the most cost effective antivirus software for her? Thanks in advance,Cathy S.

  21. I like the old game of Mah Joung. On the outside it looks like either a very simple game or an exercise in futility. However, the more you play the game, the more you see that, yes, there is a strategy to winning. (Of course, winning means that you are able to click on all pairs, leaving a clean board.)Some winning strategies include:1) Before you click on a pair check to see if there are 1 or 2 other identical game pieces available for removal from the board. If all four are open, then click on them willy nilly. If only 3 are available, then proceed on to number 2.2) When only 3 identical pieces are open, choose your pair carefully. Imagine the pieces that become available when you click on one pair compared to the other pair. Why choose one pair over another pair?To answer the question proceed onto number 4.3) Imagine your board as having crucial access points or rather stopflows that hinder your progress at creating or matching pairs. Depending on the Mah Joung piece arrangement, there are usually 3 main stoppers. One is the small amount of pieces on the uppermost layer. 2nd and 3rd may be at opposite ends of the board, and are probably on the same layer. These two pieces, once they are matched, will allow two sets of 2 side by side rows to be opened up to sequential matching that converge to the middle of the board.4) Refer to number 3 to understand this strategy. Now all the initial matches must be done working at freeing those pieces that match the stoppers. Hence, you need to visualize your moves 1-2-3 moves ahead of yourself. Why? It is because freeing up these stoppers early on can make or break the game. 5) The importance of choosing your pair carefully when you have only 3 available is that otherwise the 3rd unmatched piece can become a new stopper. One hint is that if one of the 3 becomes an island, go with the other two. That way you have prevented the 3rd from becoming a stopper.6) Starting from the top down. This creates more free pieces or at the very least enables the player to see where more of the pieces are in order to continue to strategize as the game is being played out.

  22. Is it really true that every world religion is swimming in its gigantic own swimming pools of contradiction?
I personally believe the answer to the above question is yes.

Let me just outline some basic contradictions in all world religions:

Christianity - Love thy neighbour despite the fact your neighbour is destined to go to hell if they are not Christian. Has no real religion anymore. Catholicism was completely changed in the 14-1500's and has never returned to its true teachings. Protestantism is not the direct word of Jesus, as very few would know this, considering it was based on the foundations of Catholicism, which was ultimately corrup at the time, so anything they may have written would be incorrect, and in accurate. My Conclusion: Christianity is now an overall commercialised religion.

I really don't see any contradition in Loving thy neighbor---by doing so, people can see the Love of Jesus at work. Why? because logically why should a person care about someone who doesn't care about them. Jesus gives us the ability to care. That ability is what draws the neighbor to the person, and hence, to their own decision to accept Jesus as their own personal Savior. Maybe at a quick glance there appears to be a contradiction, but I see no contradiction at all.

  23. I agree with your summation but not with the details of your explanation. That may make sense to you but not to me. Such a God is too small and petty for me to belieive in. I believe in an infinite God whose very nature is to love and give of Himself unconditionally.

I agree that God is vast and very loving. One example of this is when the Amalekites raided the Philistine village that David lived in and stole all the families and things and David with his small band of men got them all back. Another example is when Gideon was chosen to free the people, the Philistines, I believe, were the oppressors and they ended up being afraid of Gideon before they evn saw him, and became so confused that they killed themselves. Finally, a 3rd example of the love of God is that Queen Esther was accepted twice by the King-he touched the royal scepter- so she could request that her people be saved from annihilation by Haman.

However, please explain why these people died. Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, one day offered strange fire before the Lord (i.e. they made a mixture of incense that was not what God had ordered) and fire came out from the altar and devoured them. Secondly, when King David moved the Ark back to Jersalem, he hadn't read that only the priests were supposed to move it and in a special way. King David moved the Ark via a cart pulled by oxen and when Uzza touched the ark to steady it, he died right there on the spot. Lastly, when the Jews in the desert with Moses grumbled, plagues would go out and kill thousands as well God led them in the desert for 40 years because of disobedience. These examples sure look like a conditional God to me.
