The Mentos And Diet Coke Reaction
Darkwolf11235 replied to Darkwolf11235's topic in Science and Technology
This quite simply is about the reaction that occurs when you place mentos mints into a 2 liter bottle of diet coke. Once this is done almost imediatelly the coke will begin to fizz and bubble out of the container. I didn't believe this at first but then i tried the experiment my self and got hit by a stream of diet coke.I was wondering if anyone knew the reason for this reaction since it will not take place with a regular coke.PS: There is supposedly a movie that someone create of thousands of bottles going off at specific times to create a fountain like appearance. If anyone knows where to find this please post it. -
I have dial-up at 56k for $10.95 a month and personally i think its a complete rip off. Its so slow that I have to be on hours at a time for a download of about 30mb. This also ties up the phone lines so that when my parents try to call they can never reach me, this causes problems. I assume that it causes problems for other people to because of the need for a little more speed and the need for comunication.Say if you went on the internet to look up something, anything school, news, etc., and you found that while you are trying to get to a site windows is trying to automatically update. This would significatly slow down both download speeds. By the time the page you were looking for was uploaded it could have been 5 or more minutes and the update would have gotten nowhere. With this said though cable and dsl are more expensive than dial-up they are worth their wieght. If you were to create an equivilant price to speed chart, say dsl and cable are 100x faster than dial-up. With dial-up at an average price of $15 and cable/dsl at an average price of $45. This would mean that with a dial-up service going as fast as any other broadband service it would cost about $1500 per month! Compare that to the $45 and see which is the better deal!

I heard that if you placed mentos into a bottle of diet coke it would create a fountain effect. When I tried this I got covered in coke because of the speed of the reaction. Luckily no sugar means it does attract as many bugs. After this I wondered for a while what exactly is the chemical reaction that takes place between a mentos mint and diet coke. If anyone knows please post. It would be interesting if this only worked with diet coke. One more thing, I have also heard that a group of people created a video with several hundred of these "fountains" going off in a specific order to create a very unique affect. If anyone knows were this can be found please post that as well.

After seeing the X-men movies I have decided to ask today would it be possible to create real "X-men"? With current techniques we are able to remove and implant genetic material into living things. For example we insert certain genes into bacteria so it can make products such as factor 8, for people with hemophelia, and genes into cows that will allow them and their offspring to create upto 20% more milk. So what i'm asking is what is the next step and what will its ethical implications be. Will there ever be genetic manipulation of the human DNA sequence to better the human species? If there ever is than will these changes allow people ablities such as that of the X-men or will it never go that far?

The Moon Landing - Real Or Fake
Darkwolf11235 replied to sandeep1405241520's topic in Science and Technology
I've heard of this conspiracy theory and think its ridiculous. The fact that there were also other missions to the moon afterwards makes it pointless to fake the first. Also, it would be impossible to fake this, you could ask specialists in physics and they would say the way the light reflected from the lunar surface was correct. And since when did conspiracies gain any viable credit, people still speculate about roswell but those who truely believe and continue to upgrade the rumors by adding little changes are probably wearing aluminum on their heads. -
Thanks, these are the funniest and sadly most true politcal cartoons i have ever seen.

Dell XPS 600: Gamer's Dream Come True
Darkwolf11235 replied to amitbhandari's topic in Websites and Web Designing
That is insane, the speed and power of the system along with the huge memory. It would be funny if someone thought they could make it run even faster by upgrading it and actually downgraded it. But $10,000 way expensive. Beauty comes at a price. Also, i had no idea that Alienware and Dell fused! When did this happed? -
My computer came with McAfee and Norton preinstalled, the problem is that their subscription has run out and they don't have an uninstall option! This means i constantly get popups from them and unwanted warnings. Also, i can't turn them off and to make matters worse, Norton seems to have been corrupted because it can't repair or delete files only find them. This problem has been bothering me for some time. So if anyone and find a way to fix this please tell me.

This game looks so freakn' awsome just because of the style of the graphics and game play. I've heard very good things about it and I can't wait, hopefully it will be released September 7, 2006 and not pushed back any further. I have been wanting to play this game since it was first anounced at E3 in 2003. The graphics are that of traditional Japanese art. I'm not quite sure if its cell shading or not. I don't think it is but it is being produced by Clover, the same company that made Viewtiful Joe which is an interesting cell shaded game. In Okami the player will play as a wolf and in order to execute certain attacks and abilities the player will have to draw using the two anolog keys on the PS2 controller. Also, the drawing is used for actions such as creating a bridge, cutting down trees, or even making the wind blow. Because the user is drawing the amount they will be able to draw will be limited by the amount of ink they have, from what i've seen it looks like you have bottles of ink at the top or bottom of the screen that empty when drawing and automatically refill. The story is also suposed to be strait from ancient Japanese myth and seems interesting. I believe the actual objective of the game is to restore color (literally) to the land by destroying the evil that stole it. As weird as this sounds it may be a very welcome sight to PS2 games as it is as original as the Jak series, which are also excellent games. If you want to know more about this game i would recommend either a google search or searching for it on gamespy.com. Gamespy.com has several trailers on it if your interested they look great. Hope it comes out on date.

Well besides the spamming thing... Spore does look like an awsome game from what I saw on G4 about the E3 game play and graphics. The graphics are awsome and like said above you will be able to play a race of creatures that you create using an interesting creature editor. The interesting thing is that you should be able to create any creature you could possibly think of and it will have its own unique traits and animation. So far it looks like a great game and I hope it will be.

Since there isn't already a topic for homeworld i'm creating this one. Homeworld is an older game but the graphics and all are still pretty nice. I think this game kind of helped define the RTS genre in a new way because of the approach from directly being in and completely open 3d space environment. This allows you to move ships in all three dimensions so that tactics and strategy are crucial. For example some enemy capital ships are weaker on the top so while attack order you ships to move upward. Offcoarse the computer may just rotate the ship upward so your ships still attack the front. Inorder to counter this you could split your ships into two groups and order one group to move down and one group to move up while attacking this leaves part of the ship exposed to one of your groups since the front of the ship can only be in one place at a time. Sorry about that i accidentally posted this before i finished it. Now back to the post! This creates for a truly unique style of game play and allows players to create their own special tactics and attack types. This game is not an easy one because it also ajusts each level to the number of ships you have. Hint at the end of each level collect all the resources but do NOT build ships until the next level if you do the computer will compensate for it and you wont have resources to build ships right away. There is also Homeworld 2 now, this is a good game though, as is often the case, not as good as the first.

There is this awsome little roller coaster game at this site Coaster Simulator It's pretty cool just a little toy I thought that I would mention. After a while it gets kind of old but don't let that stop you from looking at it at least once. Try to get the coaster to go around the biggest loop you can. Also, just for fun if you set gravity at the lowest setting and speed at the top setting its pretty funny to watch as it just flys strait of the track and barrelly even lowers. No worrys, no roller coasters or people were harmed when they made this game (so far as I know).

Thanks so much for this even if it increases the speed by .5kb per second it will help me a lot since i have dial-up thank you again. If you have anyother tricks on this please send me a message on it.

First a question... if you are collecting viruses and don't want to delete them than why did you get an anti-virus program?Ways to fix this.-The simplest solution would be to just get rid of Norton, but if you don't want to do that than there are several other things you can do to protect your viruses and spyware.-You can tell Norton not to do automatic scans or updates-You can completely disable Norton so that it won't scan anything unless you tell it to-When Norton detects a virus it should give you the option of whether or not you want to keep that program, along with that it should also give you the option of not considering the program a virusI hope these help they are the only ways i can think of at the moment to solve the problem.

Su-do-ku puzzles are fun. They can be challenging at times because there is that one number you need to find and everything depends on it but thats part of the challenge. The logic is good and it definately makes you think faster after working with them for a while. Here are the lines of that earlier puzzle, i couldn't upload the image of it when i completed it so this is the next best thing963,174,258178,325,649254,689,731821,437,596496,852,317735,961,824589,713,462317,246,985642,598,173

Frozen Throne is a great addition to the story and overall game play itself. To begin with it reduces the cost of several units from the original game which allows for a faster start up. It maintains the graphics of the original game exellently as well as adding new units and a new hero for each race. These heros are very good if used correctly. The game continues the story line and has a very satisfying ending.Warcraft III is possibly the best RTS (Real Time Strategy) game on the market currently though there is still Starcraft and Warhammer (havn't played it so i can't really comment on it) but Starcraft is the classic of the series. Personally get Starcraft first so you can enjoy it without being over whelmed by Warcrafts graphics first.

Ask.Com Is Better Than Google In My Opinion
Darkwolf11235 replied to PublicThinker's topic in Search Engines
I still think that google is a better search engine. It has more options than ask and far better results. You get more and better results with google than ask.com. Though there always is that hybrid of google and yahoo that is really good too. In my opinion that beats both google and ask because you can seach for two different things at the same time or even pictures on one side and sites on the other.
