no, i guess it's not. i tried another soft of that company (their video editor, presentavid) and it can publish your outputs in almost any popular formats (avi, wmv, mpeg, swf, flv, also can burn dvd). and that's why i'm sure that if it is written that it can publish in different formats, then it's true. and also now i looked through their screenshots and i guess this one (http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/) shows that output format depends on codecs you have...

well i always use windows movie maker, it's nice and simple. and few days ago i came across another simple video editing program. link it is presentavid. i tested it, it's even easier than win movie maker, hasn't many many options but can add callouts, your own logos & watermarks, can burn dvd and publish video in different popular formats (even flash and gif), also can record a screen (region, window) and then allows to edit it... i just recommend you to try several programs and then make a choice.
