  1. You could make it work fine using the Robot library of Java. Its java.awt.Robot; and it gives you complete control of a persons computer. Im working on a script right now that gives you remote access to your computer. Very nifty little library indeed.~Adio
  2. "I could go on and on, but my point is that even I, a lowly student who literally rakes in a whopping fifty dollars a month for spending money, have access to just about any sort of program I could possibly want or need."That's a horrible argument. Im not talking about you. Im talking about the people who NEED these programs to do their JOBS.On the other hand,"nd what about games? I'm sure you can't find a Half-Life equivalent for free, can you" Half Life is only 50 bucks and would be classified as an item that u want, not need, therefore I offer no sympathy if you get caught.Piracy should only be a way to bypass the system for things you need. Using it for DVD's and Windows and Games and Most Music is a problem.
  3. Thats pretty nice. I remember my noob days when I had to upload every single file by hand. Personally I really don't like cpanel though, I would prefer small open source things like phpmyadmin. Similarly, CPanel is a nice alternative for people who don't know mysql and php and such. Any idea what version Xisto has on cpanel? ~Thanks Adio
  4. heh just wondering if anything is up with the hosting requests? seems like its been at least 4 days since anyones been added (or denied), no problem but I am losing points all the while =]~Adio
  5. Im sure that if it can it would be limited to applets requiring libraries that may not have been invented yet. Somewhere else I read an article about it a while ago, but it may have not been an official supported java library. If there is functionality im sure it would depend on what you planned to do with it. I can't really see why you would want to do java and flash. Any examples?~Adio
  6. Ive been looking around and it seems like it would be possible to run Adsense with Target Point and Chikita. It may sound like a lot of ads but Im looking to make some money. According to TargetPoint: ~Because i believe you have control over what type of companies that you advertise, you could potentially aviod this.Google says: ~So that would work.Chitika Says: ~So im good there In theory i feel that it would be possible to run all 3 cpcs at the same time. Has anyone else done this? With any cpcs? 2 or more. Also, does it matter if you display them on different pages? or do they all have to run on all of your pages? ~Thanks Adio
  7. Well I believe thats somewhat true, but google needs money. They dont charge for everything like microsoft but for instance, they charge big time for decent advertising among other things. lol I don't believe he was looking for an exploit.....it just happened...and it seemed like it was pretty obvious....if he had any visual indication that the code output, he would see it right in front of him (ie he wouldn't have had to have been looking for anything). Thats the only reason that this case isnt very special. It can happen to anyone, could happen to a 10 year old if they tried it. It would be a lot harder for a 14 year old looking for exploits to find them. And to be completely honest this is such a simple problem to spot, I cant believe it wasn't found out before =p (but then again I don't know that many people that try and send direct javascript code through email lol) I switched over to Linux for this reason, but since not all of my favorite software works in Linux, I'm stuck using both for a long time..."My friend told me he found an os called "linspire" thats like windows and linux..i don't know anything about it, but it might be worth it to check out =] BTW no offense is intended if anyone takes any, i just got off a political debate forum and im a little stirred up =] ~Adio
  8. well Ive got about 13 points right now so I applied =] Gonna try and get those extra 17 for the advanced package. Actually, I think my friend is going to try altahost to start off (until we establish a good working site, and then apply for paid hosting. His mother owns an apartment hunting company and we're trying to establish a web-identity for it) Just wondering, does altahost have a parent company or something similar that does paid hosting? (too lazy to go research it in the middle of my post lol sorry)~Adio
  9. Well piracy is fine to some extent. I dont support people that use it for profit. I believe that giving people their fair chance at a program that they couldn't otherwise get (ie a student/low-wage person) is wonderful, and just getting back at the large corporations. However, when a person sells pirated stuff I feel that they are just stealing money from the company without care of helping the people who bought it. I also believe that people who collect in upwards of 20,000 songs and such illegally need to get whats coming to them. Thats just being greedy.Another thing:I've noticed that new artists don't appear in the pirate spotlight very much. I figure its pretty hard to get their stuff illegally, thereby protecting them from money loss. Bands like metallica are the ones that you see a lot. They make so much money that the dent pirating creates barely does anything to them.Just my thoughts,~Adio
  10. For PHP "Reference" I would definately say the PHP Website. http://php.net/ It lists every available thing in php, what it does, how to use it, and the comments at the bottom usually contain wonderful example code. If you are talking about php "tutorials" well i'd say don't bother. I dont use tutorials except to see how other people would code something. BTW the fastest way to learn is to get one of those little tiny intro books that u can read in like an hour and then figure out something you want to make with php. Once you decide what you want to do, use php.net to gather info about things you don't know. This always helped me remember the stuff better than the often useless and overused tutorials on the internet. To be completely honest, Here is the best places to go for php stuff: http://php.net/ http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ The php book I started off with is one of those Sams teach yourself php in 24 hours books. Great book, i also used their asp.net one and c++ one =] Hope this helps somewhat, ~Adio
  11. Well Ive been playing WoW for about a year now. I really enjoy it. There is a bunch of stuff to keep you busy at level 60. I enjoy PvP in this game more than any other so far. Ive played daoc, ac, ac2, eq, eqII, and wow. Personally, Asherons Call 2 was my favorite game ever but hey all good things come to an end. The graphics in daoc killed me; they are horrrrrrible. Same with eq and ac. If you play WoW you are garunteed to get p'oed at blizzard for a lot of things. After every patch i spend about 2 days updating various components of my computer to make it work with the patch. Blizzard, despite its many employees, rarely answers important questions, and generally just goofs off in the off-topic forums. http://www.ign.com/ is a nice info site, and http://www.warcraftmovies.com/ is all you need to look at to start loving WoW ~Adio
  12. Hey just a quick Q.I'm sure that not everybody has these problems and I would like to at least try adsense before commiting to one of these alternatives. Is it possible to run adsense and one or more of these other ad services at the same time? Just to compare.~Thanks =]
  13. Hi Everybody, Just a few things, particularly on Adsense. Does this hosting server allow adsense code? My friend has been using adsense for 2 days now and it says he has made $17.38. If you didn't include taxes, would this be the actual amount he is paid? BTW im not trying to get hosted here for adsense, but its a nice little bonus So far I am very impressed with altahosts professionalism, and i really hope i can get hosted here soon =] ~Adio
