Do you think the big bang took place, so many billions of years ago? I do, sort of, but when my teachers told me about it expanding to the size it is today in about 3 minutes, i thought, "What made it expand?". I mean, think about it. How did the singularity that was all the mass in the universe condensed into a point so small it didn't even have dimensions expand to something of infinite size?

Hello, I am Michael Land (or mik). I'm a 15 year old happy-go-lucky web designer, developer and spork manic. I have been in the design circles for about two years, but in the past year or so I decided to make a real attempt and my ambition is to one-day rule the world... or become a professional; whichever happens first.

 

My sense of humour is a little more ranged than some might imagine; most of the time I use sarcastic comments to make the misfortune of others look as a brighter thing. I can't stand mopes (people who a drag) and I dislike fruit and veg' just as much. Chips, they are the only veg' I will eat.

 

And yeah, I have been here before I moved to Xisto, but I lost touch with myself and had too much to do to be worrying about hosting. But now I am back, and fully loaded... with rubbish.

There're always other free hosts that support PHP&MySQL with no-ad. But there's many limitations (space, bandwidth, filesize...). Most of them require posting to make the site remain.

Hey guys, MIT is constructing this babies, they are intended for 3rd world countries where a laptop or a desktop computer are not accessible. Basically these $100 machines will be a Linux-based, full-color, full-screen and they will use innovative power (including wind-up) and will be able to do most everything except store huge amounts of data. These rugged laptops will be WiFi- and cell phone-enabled, and have USB ports galore. Its current specifications are: 500MHz, 1GB, 1 Megapixel.(The hard drive will prolly be 1 GB probably are what people are expecting.)

Check it out, I think its a nice approach for people and children especially who aren't related to technology and want to learn more, also you have to consider that laptops can be used as notebooks and calculators, so I think these will help a lot.

Yeah, but this kind of computer is not for me. I've read about it on the newspaper. It's mainly for kids. If don't have CD-ROM. 100$ ! Is it too much for such a useless machine? Why don't we buy an PDA instead, it's better.

Anyway, it can be a gift for my younger brother's next birthday.

Okay, not a complete newbie when it comes to PHP (I can fumble my way around most of the time), but I'm trying to figure out how to embed my livejournal into a frames page (or something like it) for one of my other websites...Yes, livejournal has a link for it, but they expect you to already have some experience in php, and I don't know if I'm as adept in it as I would like, so I figured I'd ask people here who probably know more about it than I do.

 

Okay, here's a small screenshot of what I'm trying to do (it's purposefully tacky looking because I'm trying to keep this PG-13, but the site I'm using it for....isn't.):

Anyways, that's what I want to do...it's frames for that layout, but the site I'm going to be using it for uses tables, hence my need for php instead of the simpler HTML frames.  Anyway, the link directly to the PHP tutorial for livejournal is here.  For purpose of the differences in PHP coding between the two systems, my livejournal uses S2.  Now, my big problem is a couple of things...one, for those of you who might have a livejournal on the S2 system, I don't know how to find out where

S2 ID is...I know that the best way to put the livejournal in now would be to use the INCLUDE coding, but that means that I have to hope that 1) the server this website is going on supports php and 2) that the include won't mess up.

You can't include a page to another one so simple. There're many things to do.

Fisrt, you must read the sourcepage(the page that contain included contents) then process it.

You need to remove some special tabs (such as <HTML> <BODY> .etc..).

After that, write it out where you want to display on the target page.

If the sourcepage contain images and/or other kinds of media, you'll need to reprocess their pahts also.

30GB is too much for an free email services. But I don't trust in this kind of email. Because when I grow and grow, who will pay for the hosting. And I can be slow down (like Yahoo).Finally, an ID like name@30gigs.com is not cool, right?Anyway, Gmail 's still the best choice.

The first thing to do is to install a Linux Distro. You should check this out

But in my opinion, the best choice is Fedora Core, it's the next generation of Opened Redhat Linux. I find it very useful and I hope you will too.

With my P4 2.8Ghz, it only takes less than 30 seconds to boot to Microsoft Windows XP and about 50 seconds to boot to Fedora Core. I can't belive that a 3Ghz is slower than mine.
