  1. Hi there,Actually do I belive that the highest god of them all is "Mother Earth" and the Gaia theory does really make sense to me. I found a article on wikipedia that descripes the sitiation about "Natural Disasters" very well as follow:"Gaia theories Early modern parallelsIn Lives of a Cell, Lewis Thomas makes an observation very much like Lovelock's Gaia hypothesis: "I have been trying to think of the earth as a kind of organism, but it is no go. I cannot think of it this way. It is too big, too complex, with too many working parts lacking visible connections. The other night, driving through a hilly, wooded part of southern New England, I wondered about this. If not like an organism, what is it like, what is it most like? Then, satisfactorily for that moment, it came to me: it is most like a single cell."Lovelock initial hypothesisLovelock defined Gaia as: "a complex entity involving the Earth's biosphere, atmosphere, oceans, and soil; the totality constituting a feedback or cybernetic system which seeks an optimal physical and chemical environment for life on this planet."His initial hypothesis was that the biomass modifies the conditions on the planet to make conditions on the planet more hospitable – the Gaia Hypothesis properly defined this "hospitality" as a full homeostasis. Lovelock's initial hypothesis, accused of being teleological by his critics, was that Gaia atmosphere is kept in homeostasis by and for the biosphere.Lovelock suggested that life on Earth provides a cybernetic, homeostatic feedback system operated automatically and unconsciously by the biota, leading to broad stabilization of global temperature and chemical composition. With his initial hypothesis, Lovelock claimed the existence of a global control system of surface temperature, atmosphere composition and ocean salinity. His arguments were: * The global surface temperature of the Earth has remained constant, despite an increase in the energy provided by the Sun * Atmospheric composition remains constant, even though it should be unstable * Ocean salinity is constantSince life started on Earth, the energy provided by the Sun has increased by 25% to 30%; however the surface temperature of the planet has remained remarkably constant when measured on a global scale. Furthermore, he argued, the atmospheric composition of the Earth is constant. The Earth's atmosphere currently consists of 79% nitrogen, 20.7% oxygen and 0.03% carbon dioxide. Oxygen is the second most reactive element after fluorine, and should combine with gases and minerals of the Earth's atomosphere and crust. Traces of methane (at an amount of 100,000 tonnes produced per annum), should not exist, as methane is combustible in an oxygen atmosphere. This composition should be unstable, and its stability can only have been maintained with removal or production by living organisms.Ocean salinity has been constant at about 3.4% for a very long time. Salinity stability is important as most cells require a rather constant salinity degree and do not tolerate much values above 5%. Salinity is partially controlled by evaporation processes, which mostly take place in lagoons. The only significant natural source of atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO2) is volcanic activity, while the only significant removal is through the weathering of some rocks. During weathering, a reaction causes the formation of calcium carbonate. This chemical reaction is enhanced by the bacteria and plant roots in soils, where they improve gaseous circulation. The calcium carbonate can be washed to the sea where it is used by living organisms with carboneous tests and shells. Once dead, the living organisms' shells fall to the bottom of the oceans where they generate deposits of chalk and limestone. In short, a rock was weathered, the resulting carbon dioxide processed by a living organism, and returned to a rock through sedimentation process. Part of the organisms with carboneous shells are the coccolithophores (algae), which also happen to participate in the formation of clouds. When they die, they release a sulfurous gas (DMS), (CH3)2S, which act as particles on which water vapor condenses to make clouds.Lovelock sees this as one of the complex processes that maintain conditions suitable for life. The volcanoes make the CO2 enter the atmosphere, CO2 participates in limestone weathering, itself accelerated by temperature and soil life, the dissolved CO2 is then used by the algae and released on the ocean floor. CO2 excess can be compensated by an increase of coccolithophoride life, increasing the amount of CO2 locked in the ocean floor. Coccolithophorides increase the cloud cover, hence control the surface temperature, help cool the whole planet and favor precipitations which are necessary for terrestrial plants. For Lovelock, coccolithophorides are one stage in a regulatory feedback loop. Lately the atmospheric CO2 concentration has increased and there is some evidence that concentrations of ocean algal blooms are also increasing."Much more it to be find here, and I know that people has to find these articles by themselves, but this is just to force to see things from an diffrent view.Take care of her, cause she wouldn't harm us if we don't harm her.Cheers!Jens
  2. Hi,I'm trying to configure my cPanel, but of some kind of reason does it works extremly slowly and it leak the icon images. My Internet connection is standard adsl, and when I had dealup doesn't I had any problems or trouble, then only thing that I've been changed is my Internet connection. Please help me,Cheers!Jens

  4. Hi There, I don't think that there is any reasons to be worried about Microsoft can "kill" Google of several of reasons. Reason #1: Someone has an product that are better designed and more public than Microsoft can handle. They did tried to "kill" Mozilla and then Netscape, did it worked? Nope, Mozilla really rules with their Firefox and Thunderbird applications and I think that it's just an question about time when they "kills" Microsoft's own IE (That actually are build on an Mozilla engine), then did they tried to kill Unix OS and here can we just conclude that with all these Linux distributions that are on the marked, and even for free, might be harder for the Multi Commercial Microsoft to handle. Google is still growing stronger and I think that the reason for that would be.... Reason #2: Heavy weight engeneering in light weight design. What I mean about that is, that in all these years that I've been computering, does Microsoft's applications only growing heavier and heavier, without caring about that people don't buy new hard ware each sixth month, and new extremly expencive software every year just cause it behave someone else. I really think that it's possible to use old technology, and just fix the bugs instead of waste it to design new ones with new bugs, and that fact does I think that Google had understood as far as Mozilla and the Linux people has. Reason #3: I think that it has to be the time to Microsoft to accept that there is other people on the market who is better to design software than Microsoft themselves, and instead to fight to start to cooperate and integrate to make much more friendly platforms for all. Ex. let the office application work with PHP and MySql or use Firefox in future versions of windows, and then use the energy to make Windows more stable and at least cheeper so normal regular people can get it. So far, so good.... I can give more reasons here, but I really think that we as customer have the power to change the evaluation in this cold branch, as without us there wouldn't be any industries.... So let us fight the power... Cheers! Jens
  5. Thank you very much for your advice about Zone Alarm AV, I have it but not yet installed it, as I havn't as far meet any complications to using AVG that is the most stable Freeware AV that I've tried. Cheers! Jens
  6. Mac OS X might be more userfriendly, but as far I know does it still helps much if you haven't an Mac PC, but if it should happen that it should be possible to run it on an Intel machine, I would think that it would be worth a try. Cheers! Jens
  7. I agree. This add is almost waste of time. I went into atspace.com tried to join them, and right as you said find nothing. This host is actualy lower than state of beginners. So sorryCheersJens
  8. I'm not quit sure that windows is the best OS in the world, but what I'm sure about is that Windows is something that you have cause it's standard over the most of the world, not cause it's the best. I still look foreward to an more userfriendly version of Linux, as I still think that it have an great potential, and the best of it all it's free. Windows just cost a lot of money, and that is the reason for the most of windows users have an pirated version of it. If it was a little cheaper it would might take the possision as a champ. Cheers, Jens
  9. Hi, It depend what you mean about "myspace" design. Try to concrete what you mean as I've several of great links to advice. Cheers! Jens
  10. Hi folkes,I'm sorry to mention it, but I think that this discussion about an "Nazi-Church" is a little too far out.In the matter of fact, yes the catholic curch was involved into 2nd ww on AH's site, but it hasn't anything to do with nazism other than what AH did and what he had done under the war, did matched what the Vatican people would like to do but it was too dirty to them.Hitler in person was almost an atheist, who also was flirting with the norse mythology, what he did use as model for his so called arian race.I have no sympathy to what that lunatic did done these years, as it was pure madness and absolutly inhumanity.Hitler was an pure AntiChrist, and too many waste their time to keep him alive.I can only feel sorry for his faith, he should had continued as an artist and left all other people alone. In the matter of fact:- Hitler wasn't an true christian- Hitler wasn't an Viking- Hitler wasn't either son of satanHitler was just an normal regular human being like you an me, who just did lost the control of his own life.Do people still discuss Napolon, Cezar or Stalin like these guy above? I don't think that they are so diffrent from each other. No more words from me here.Jens
  11. Hi folkes,I really agree that MySQL is the most easy to use and handle, I've only great expirence with it.But sometimes do you need to make repports from your database, and sometimes would you like to use MS Office to work with these repports. But I've been searching for a while now to find surch of tools, but I'm still searching.Do any have some hits about an easy freeware to convert 2 way from an MySql database to an MS Office application and back again.I think that it would be very useful for many hopeless MS Office users.Look foreward to hear some respond,Cheers!Jens
  12. Hi,I don't know if there might allready be some subtopic regarding firewalls, but in these anoying computer unhumanity terror days, would I like to discus with others their expirence regarding diffrent security systems.I've been using several of these systems, and the most of them without any bigger surpriseing results. As many might allready had mentioned is Norton Internet Security an very heavy solutions, that too often alow virus and other unwanted stuff access your system, and the same problem had I expired with both Panda and McAfee Internet security.Still haven't I had these same expirence with zonealarm Internet Security, but the problem with zonealarm is that it's a little too tuff to handle, as you haven't always ideas about what is good to block and what are needed to keep open.I've been mentioned under a another topic that I have some trouble to make my apache webserver get up and running, and I have some thoughts that it might have something to do with my firewall. My OS is windows 2k, and as mentioned above do I use ZoneAlarm Internet Security.I hope that some can give me some of their expirence and might help me out of this situation.ThanksCheers!Jens
  13. Hi folkes,I'm not quit sure to where to post this problem, but one thing that I'm sure about is that is regarding Windows 2k.As once opon a time I had Windows XP installed at my Computer, but then did MS made that excalation in their campain against piracy, and killed autoupdate as it was an pirated version. That point didn't I care much about as I allready had an legal version of Windows 2k, and therefor did I installed it again without any bigger tears or problems. To get to the point was there actualy one problem, as when I had XP on my computer did I also had Apache, Mysql and PHP running, and I've now tried several of installation kits without any succes, just to mention some of these I've tried as follow:- Netserver 01 beta 5 build 2- EyE WW- xampDo any have any expirence regarding running apache on win 2k who might can tell me what the problem is, without just telling me to upgrade to XP. And I'm wondering if any can help me to solve this anoying incident.I'm looking foreward to your responds.Cheers! and best regardsJens
