MySQL hands down i have used other db's but none that i have used perform as well for me with my php pages.The security is great have nvr had anyone hack it.I use cocca mysql to admin my DB's great program i guess alltogether MYSQL is the best in my eyes OPENSOURCE all the way

CocoaMySQL- the best SQL adminstor tool that i have found i love it has a nice look and is very easy to use.Mplayer-like it alot more then quicktime and it playes any movie file that i want aside from WMV:(WeatherDock-gives me my 10 day forcast from weather chan with out going through the trouble of opening safari going to TWC entering my zip and waiting im a dial up user so those mondain tasks bore me.Abiword-100x better then Microsoftword why you ask for one its free because its opensource and i wouldent own anything with microsoft's brand on it.PS7-yes thats right i still use photoshop 7 havent made the jump to CS and doubt that i will anytime soon PS7 does everything i need it to doand now for the two most used programs on my macIchat-for obviues reasonsToast 6 Titanium-best cd/dvd burning software for the mac imo

Just wondering what kind of dvd burner /software combanation everyone use's.I use a LG-GSA-5163D Super-Multi External DVD burner w/firewireThe software i use is Roxio Toast Titanium 6the lead in is a little slow but couldent ask for a better dvd burner it burns all formats of DVD's and is DL capable allthough i havent burned a DL DVD yet manily due to the price of them.if anyone knows were i could get cheap DL DVD's share the information

Well Depending on your price range and what you want exactly you could go the route i went. I have a G4 700mhz imac with a cdrw it ran me about 500usd on ebay its a good computer and i use it for all of my buissness needs if u need to burn dvd's i would suggest getting a external firewire dvd burner i have a LG-Super Multi it ran me about 121.00 and it burns all dvd media @ 16x. you can get wireless with a airport card you can pick one of them up fairely cheep around 60-70 bucks on ebay and yes if you dont want to use wireless you can just hook your normal cat-5e ethernet cable into it and it will work. how much memory should you have well this is also depending on what you want to do with it if your going to be doing graphic design/video editing i suggest getting a large amount of ram 1+gb if your just going to be doing every day computing 256-512 and you should be able to do what you need to do.
