A Video Editing Software Needed
SadElated replied to nakulgupta's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
Hey!Some awesome software is presently out there. There are a lot of industry standard programs that can allow you to do some amazing things! I'll outline a few of them.Dazzle: If you're willing to shell out like 50 bucks you can pick up an extremely nifty device that allows you to hook your computer up to any VCR, DVD or PS2. You can then record the video being played on that device onto your computer. By hooking up a t.v., dvd player, and Dazzle you can watch a movie and as you do so, record the places you want using Dazzle. Then with the software included with the hardware you can then create some awesome nifty effects, edit and splice videos, and work on frame by frame stuff. You can do a lot of cool things with this stuff the only thing thats the problem is it gets kind of *****y when you have it for a while, and it's a ***** to hook up and install correctly.Final Cut Pro: This is the industry standard. This is the stuff pros use. It's amazing and if you can think of anything you want to do video editing wise, chances are this program will let you do it and do it amazing. It's nearly impossible to get for free and it's priced at well over a grand, but it's well worth it if your serious about editing. However if you go to a film school you can get a free copy from most editing teachers. Windows Movie Maker: This is kind of like the 'kindergarden' class of editing. It allows you to do all the natural and easy things. Cut, move, splice, frame by frame work. Add audio, etc. It doesn't let you add any cool effects and it really doesn't give you very many tools and options but if its your first time it's easy to work with.Adobe Premiere: This is my favourite to use software. Adobe is amazing, and you can find a lot of pirated stuff on the net. It lets you do pretty well anything Final Cut Pro does, although well over 500 bucks in stores, you can probably pick up a copy somewhere on the net. It lets you do everything. Frame by frame work is a synch, and you can download tons of plug-ins and effects. It truly is one of the best. And next to Final Cut Pro, it IS the best. I strongly suggest you look for this one if anything else. It'll let you do anything you want, and tons more you wouldn't even have thought of.If you get the other programs in the Adobe library, like After Effects, and Photoshop you can do a LOT of amazing and astounding things. You don't even need to hire effects people you can do it all with those three programs! It's intense you should really check it out.Anyways, I hope this helps, and good luck with your video editing future! -
What Language Is Best For Game Programming? I need some help
SadElated replied to bigd1's topic in Programming
Hey!Well with Video Games, I know it's always a good idea to have a roughg idea of what your game does and how it works, before you jump right into making it with any language. If you make a quick prototype on another easy language or programming language it's always easy to look at it and test it for kinks before you bring it forth and really do the extra and minute details with the more advanced languages.Visual Basics is amazing for this. It allows you to do a lot of stuff simply which gives you a quick idea of what you want your game to generally look like, as well as how you want it to somewhat run. It's AWESOME for Adventure games and RPGs, you can make the scenarios and visuals and test run them in VB allowing you to do a consistant run-through with minimal game play just to let you see how your game flows and whether the graphics work with one another. Sometimes when using graphics it's tricky to really get them to mesh and flow with one another.I've found using VB first and then going back and forth between it allows you to have something like a story-board for your game and it's a lot of fun. It's also great to send to friends, and others people to get them to test your game and see if it even appeals. Then you advance on it and dive deeper into coding and all that jazz.Anyways, good luck! -

wow! I really love all of the photos posted so far You're such a talented bunch! I love photography. Well, I love all forms of art really! And I have a photoshop addiction! Hehe. But I'm still trying to learn how to do it properly! I'd like to try CS sometime, is it good? I'm just using Photoshop 7 right now. Anyway! Here they are... Hopefully they aren't too bad I have more here -
I just made the one in my signature today. I was thinking of adding some text. But after I cut it, and sized it and all that jazz I realized I liked it as it was.Any suggestions?

Spyware And Adware: Remove 'em All
SadElated replied to hexwiz's topic in Websites and Web Designing
SpyWare DoctorSpyWare Doctor is probably my best and favourite SpyWare/Adware protector. Not only that but it cleans up Trojan's as well. It's really easy to use and it works wonderfully! It's by far my favourite free program. Notice from Klass: Add URL Links for the product mentioned, saves a web search. I highly recommend using links when listing software. -
Mess With Messenger Mess with messenger @ mess.be
SadElated replied to infamousflame's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Yeah, Mess is better to just get Display Pictures, Backgrounds, and other things like images and display name specialities from. Downloading stuff definitly sets your computer aflame with spyware. And MSN Plus destroys your comptuer usually. It works wonderful for a few weeks, but then suddenly MSN will stop working. When MSN tries to auto-update Plus freezes. And things like that. My e-mail display still doesn't work right from Plus. It's best to stick to the new MSN and just take the add-ons from Mess. -
iSketch is really, really fun. It can be addictive though. You wouldn't think that Pictionary would be so much fun, but sure enough one minute you're on Aadvark and then next you're on Zebra, and you're wondering what the hell happened to the time. I like how they break up the different categories too, it's fun and when you get a bunch of friends together you can definitly find out who's into what type of things. You can tell who loves the animals, and you can tell who loves the movies, and you can really tell when people know their music. Another great site that isn't so much a game site as it is fun to play around with your friends, is Art Pad Painter It's great to send to that 'special someone' and it's really neat how it replays your entire motions. It can be comical watching someone start out drawing a stick man, or drawing something inappropriate by accident then erasing it quickly and starting again. Everyone should check it out.

Anyone Play True Rpg's table top adventuring
SadElated replied to tattoopunk's topic in Computer Gaming
The Pen and Pad Role Play games have always interested me, since I love stories, but they seem complicated. Are they? Do you need to kind of have lessons to learn the inner workings, or is it something that can be explained in a sit-down fifteen minute conversation kind of thing? I go down town a lot to my favourite Comic/Anime/Collectors store and they have tons of RolePlaying games like that. There are so many different books and I read them similarly in the fashion I would read a VCR Remote Control manual, the words go in, but the words they use don't really make sense to what I'm looking at. If I knew what the basic idea of them was, I think I'd pick up one and just read it through but I don't really want to go out and pay $50 bucks for a game book and then never use it, yanno? Can anyone give me a brief run-down of the main concept/idea to the whole thing? And maybe some of the lingo I'd need to know to understand it? Like do you need all the books to start playing or can you just get one? Or are there other things you need beside the 'game' book and stuff? -
I have RPG Maker 2000 I believe, maybe it's 2003. I can't really remember, but I'm currently looking for sprites. I didn't know there was already a forum about RPG Maker or I would have just posted it here, isntead of making a new one, here.. It's really, really easy to use. And some people can make amazing games. One girl drew all her tiles and ended up making a cartoon like world. It was really nicely done, and the artwork was beautiful. I used to have a lot of tile sets that were really beautiful, but I had to reformat and lost them all, along with the website addresses, and sure enough I have no idea where to find them. The program allows you to do quite a bit, and I think it's a great way to atleast make a prototype of your game, and game concept until you either become more fluent in code, or perhaps just better at a more efficient and fancy program. (Which might involve dishing out the green stuff.) I have the program, so if anyone wants it really bad, just Private Message me, and I'll find a way to get it to you. It's not that big of a file size, and I'd be happy to pass on the love.

Thanks a lot Sean! Yeah, I would like a LapTop with pretty well all the basic necessities, some good document programs, a good sound card(because music is a must) and probably an easilly accessibly internet port. I'll probably buy from the U.S. since prices for LapTops are much cheaper there then here, in Canada. Something that I would pay for about $1299 here, goes for about $799 in the U.S. Even with the exchange rate that's still a hefty increase. Thanks for the help. Any suggestions are helpful. Does anyone have a laptop currently and want to recommend it?

I always find it amusing how Sims and Sims 2 is so popular. I mean basically it's just watching someone do meager tasks that we ourselves do on a daily basis. (When we're not on the computer playing the Sims that is.) It's strange how we're attracted by the aspect of being something like a 'Big Brother' watching over other peoples eyes and being Godly in decisions with thier lives. I guess it's just one of the human conditions. We're attracted to power, and The Sims lets us control peoples lives... literally! Wild how humans are attracted to the strangest things. Next thing you'll see a game called "The Janitor" where you get to be a Janitor for a day and clean up other peoples garbage, or have the option of playing the crafty kids who surprise the janitor and throw crud at him! Or perhaps be the garbage men and build up your strength as you attempt to lift that old couch and put it in the back of the truck! Oh humanity!

Final Fantasy Which one do you consider the best?
SadElated replied to aaorozco's topic in Computer Gaming
I have a few favourites, I think every Final Fantasy game has it's own amazing quirks. Final Fantasy 7: Amazing story and game play. It was way ahead of it's times and the characters were astounding. I think Sephiroth goes down as the Number 1 Game Villian of all times, next to the likes of Bowser from Mario, and perhaps Shredder from Ninja Turtles on Sega Genesis. Final Fantasy 8: This game had such amazing magic. I loved all the summons so much. And the card game was friggin' wicked. I played the game sometimes JUST for the card game. Plus Squall and Rhinoa's love/thing was cute and kept some comedy in it with him being so...hmm... tight lipped? Final Fantasy 9: The design was kind of kiddish and awkward looking, but after a while you instantly fell in love with the characters. (Although it took me a LONG while to figure out whether the main character was a male or female.) And I think Final Fantasy brough to the scene one of the best characters to the franchise, Vivi. His tragic story was awesome and had a lot of symbolism and added some drama to the whole game. I also really liked how Chrono Trigger came with Final Fantasy Chronicles. Especially since that game and Chrono Cross are really good!
