  1. Thanks for all the replies... I was aware that Premiere does have a feature to reverse video, but I really don't have the $600-$700 to shell out for non-linear video editing software. So for now I'll have to stick with linear video editing and keep looking for possibly some freeware to reverse video. Thanks again.
  2. Generally, my musical tastes are pretty ecclectic, so a database like this might have trouble showing me things that I would actually like. I tried looking up some bands, like for example I looked up the hardcore punk band Void and it said most Void fans liked Carlos Santana... Plus, a lot of the band names seemed obscure, in the wrong way. I think I'll stick with the user groups in SS. It's interesting the way people can showcase their own bands in those programs, and either be praised or shot down.
  3. I'm very accustomed to using Cool Edit Pro for music editing, mixing, remixing songs etc. I rely on it for all of my indie recording needs. Cool Edit Pro does have a function to remove vocals, but it seems that you wanted to isolate them, for remixing. finaldesign's tutorial was pretty explanatory on this feature, except the vocalcut utility was under effects, not transform. Shift+Alt+V is a shortcut to the vocal cut utility. To isolate the vocals from the track, first you cut the vocals from the track, then go to effects>noise reduction>noise reduction... and take a profile of the track. Save the profile. Now go back to the noise function and reduce the noise of the original track using the profile you saved (in effect, you are reducing the music). This way is not perfect, but it is quick and is a good start for creating mixes.
  4. I always use Photoshop for serious photo editing. When I use Paint Shop Pro, it's usually for the different tubes and other user-friendly options. I would consider PSP to be a much less serious, but more fun program, good for when you are just messing around. Every once and a while I make something worth keeping on PSP. However, I think the Photoshop filters totally destroy the ones in Paint Shop Pro.
  5. Twisted Metal is the greatest video game series ever... at least in my opinion. TM2 is still my favorite game, as it has always been since I first played it. I can remember how everyone back in school would always talk about burning the Mona Lisa and destroying the Eiffel Tower... ah, the memories. TMB is also superb, definately my favorite PS2 game.
  6. I am an amateur filmmaker, and I desperately need a video editing program that can reverse video. I have tried using Fade to Black, which can reverse video, but when I mix down to an .avi, the file is glitchy and I lose a lot of frames. Does anyone know of any software that can reverse video but still retain the quality of the original video, sans glitches? Thanks.
  7. How about David Lynch, has anyone seen any of his films? Eraserhead is the best, but Blue Velvet is really good too. I would have to say that he is the most creative of all the Hollywood directors. And speaking of creative, no one mentioned Federico Fellini. 8 1/2 is a cinematic masterpiece and so is La Dolce Vita.Ah, what the heck, here are some of my favorite directors and movies:Orson Welles (Citizen Kane)Dario Argento (Suspiria)Akira Kurosawa (The Seven Samurai)Terry Gilliam (Brazil)Roman Polanski (Rosemary's Baby)Luis Bunuel (Un Chien Andalou)And I have a soft spot for Lost in Translation...
  8. Pinnacle Systems has a great line of linear video editing software, if you're looking for something maybe cheaper than Adobe Premier or other non-linear software. Studio v.9 Plus is only $99 and has a lot of imaging effects. They also have a plugin for v.9 for $150 called Premium Pack, which includes a function called framer where you can put a box over the video, possibly something similar to what you were looking for. You can check out the Premium Pack filters here http://www.pinnaclesys.com/studio9premiumdvd/index.html.
