Hot Debate: Your Views On Gays & Homosexuality ...
bigredrosen replied to l337 Nurse Pedestrian's topic in General Discussion
<i>Exactly You gotta be kidding me. You ARE NOT born gay. THere's nothing in genetics that tell you if you are gay or not. No GG Gg gg or anything. You become gay, just like say, loving the girl next door. You're not born loving her. You have to see her first.</i> sure it <i>could</i> be true, but can it be proven?? i saw another post with a great link: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ it cannot be proven, i guess, unless you're a scientist or a gay person. but regardless of if you are born or not born gay, does it really matter!? a pereson is who they are, and nobody can/should change that. -
just curious to hear what you all think about stem cell research. (for more info see http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ and http://www.stemcellresearch.org/ ... i completely understand where people are hesitant about it, as cloning of humans could be made possible. however, that's like saying that giving a police officer a gun will make them shoot people they don't like. just because it is a physical <i>possibility</i> doesn't mean it shouldn't be done. i am for stem-cell research, not only because it could personally affect me (one who has type 1 diabetes), but also because it could open the world for numerous other ailments, from spinal cord injury to Parkinson's to Alzheimer's to cancer ... how do you feeel about this very controveresial issue?

many people speak of photoshop (adobe) and other painting/graphics programs being the best. in my personal opinion, however, Paint Shop Pro (PSP) is the only one out there that truly deserves an A+.psp 5, the version from about 2 years ago, is debatable. photoshop may very well be better in that case. however, I recently got psp 8, and without a doubt am more than pleased. below are just some of the features you get for the low price. i'm not even going to list the "basics" that all paint programs have.- red eye filter (you can pick the size and type of eye, from human to animal and more)- elements (insert pre-defined images from an image library)- advanced cut/paste options- hundreds of special effects, including: - aged newspaper - bubbles - black/white- texture effects- ability to convert to and/or from any image file you can think of ... from *.jpg to *.psp to specific Kodak filesI give PSP 5 stars for price, performance, and value Notice from m^e: When you make posts, make sure you do them in the right forum. This isn't a tutorial by any means. Moved.

bigredrosen replied to sunny152's topic in Websites and Web Designing
I'm looking for a free software for building my own website in Xisto. Is there any free good and easy to build software for building website without using HTML codes as just like building free website in tripod? Thanks, sunny.hey, sunny!i'd strongly reccommend 4 things to try, although not ncessaarilly in this order.1.) HTML-Kit (http://www.chami.com/)2.) check out google for some free web builders. keep in mind, however, that many will include ads and whatnot.3.) try visiting download.com. you may be able to create the site using one of those programs there and then transfer the HTML coding into astahost4.) learn HTML! you may be suprised at how easy the basics can be.zack -
Hey im Daniel. I am trying to get a site about the Hardy Boys Book Series. They are so awesome. Pick up a copy at your local library. Its about 2 detectives that help there father solve cases. There names are Frank (18) and Joe (17). There father, Fenton Hardy is a nationally known detective too. It should be a great website.hey, daniel! wow, i sure remember reading those books! good luck with the website, it seems like a great opportunity to open kids' eyes to those books again, as they sure have gotten lost in the book-market today. if you want/need any help with it, feel free to contact me! zack

Openoffice Vs. Microsoft Office Which is better?
bigredrosen replied to rhodesian.dragon's topic in Software
I have used both programs and found some things wrong with both, also some great things about both. My question is which do you think is the best? [without talking about the companies that makes the program or prices, just purely on the function of the program and nothing else]without talking about prices!? hmm thats suddenly makes this question even more challenging!i'd still have to say i like microsoft word better, mainly because i have been using it for so much longer. however, for those out there who truly are open-source-talented, of course openoffice would be better. however, i feel that with word, you have the accessibility to the many other programs with windows, such as powerpoint and publisher.zack -

i'd have to recommend another few great ones. first is https://www.codeschool.com/ -- that has, obviously, only javascript ... yet it is an amazing collection of fun and interesting scripts for DHTML i'd recommend http://www.webreference.com/dhtml/index.html --- another great collection http://www.developer.com/ has it all, from Java, JavaScript, DHTML, and Perl all the way to CGI, C++, and so much more and for more javascript. https://www.codeschool.com/ is my favorite. thousands of scripts, all types of categories enjoy!

Hi Everyone Just dropped by to say Hi to everyone
bigredrosen replied to Military Knowledge's topic in Introductions
Hi everyone! I just dropped in to say hello to both the Xisto members and the Xisto adminstration. I'm new to Xisto, but I am not new to the web site buisness. I have four other websites with different hosts, but I had a contact that happened to launch a website on Xisto and I was informed that the quality of web hosting is excellent. I have actually seen a couple of Xisto websites, but I would like to see other peoples work if I could please. My name is Sean Webber, (Aged 14) and like I said I own four other websites, these being: militaryknowledge.8m.com truesoldiers.8m.com truesoldiersselfdefense.8m.com and a couple of various other little sites. I can't wait to get started and I am looking forwards to the Xisto experience. I will be diving of the fifty meter diving board straight into the deep end (Hopefully I can float huh?).l Personally I am a very physical person. I spend countless hours in the gym and enjoy other activities such as Karate and Army Cadets etc. I love all the rock style music ranging from light rock & roll (ie: Guns'n'Roses & Aerosmith) all the way to the metal area (ie: Metallica & Rammstein). I guessing that you have already guessed what my site will be about I hope, (my username sought of gives it away a bit I guess) but if you haven't already got it I will be making a military based website. I'm proud to say that I live in Great Britain. I am living in the South Of England in Brixham, Torbay. Torbay is situated on the sunny English Riveria. (We actually have parm trees here!) Well thankyou for your time, who knows, perhaps you might just end up answering one of my topics on the forum board ah? Thanks for your time, Sean Webber militaryknowledge@hotmail.co.uk <{POST_SNAPBACK}> welcome, sean! nice to see more young people (im 17 myself) zack -
at the very least, you will need the proper line in inputs on your computer.

Website Poll how to create a poll
bigredrosen replied to yusvet's topic in Websites and Web Designing
like the other person who replied to you, i'd recommend a service such as bravenet myself.however, you can simeply create your own! below is an example script ,feel free to copy it and edit it with your own info. then wen you get the emailed results just edit them yourself and post the results.--------<html><head><title>My Poll</title></head><body bgcolor="#ffffeff" text="#000000" link="#0000ff" vlink="#0000ff" alink="#000000"><center><h1>My Poll!</h1></center><hr><br><form name="poll" action="/cgi-bin/submit_res.cgi" method="get">[Poll questions here.]<input type="submit" name="submit" value="Submit Results"><br><br><p align="center">Please note that the results of the poll will not be made available until I upload them.</p></form></body></html> -

A Xml Editor? and where?
bigredrosen replied to The_Element_Him's topic in Websites and Web Designing
you may have become familiar with HTML-Kit if you're used to designing in HTML ... however, if you are not, I strongly recommend it. it's great for HTML, Javascript, Java, simple text, CSS, XML, CGI, php,...just about anything. and best of all it's FREE! wow i sound eleike one a spokesman for them! you cand ownload it at http://download.cnet.com/windows/, or from the develoiper's site, http://www.chami.com/ hope it helps! -
the preference of laptop vs. PC is completely determined by what you need the computer for. here are some good reaesons to use one over the other:PC------- home- business/office- shared users- programmers- immobile userslaptop------- single-users- users who use computers for recording (shows, for example)- journalists- college-students (work on campus)

try contacting microsoft ... i believe they will send you a replacement disc for free (or close to it) if you can prove you owned a copy previously good luck
-
without a doubt, i would recommend Sony Vegas 4.0 .. however, this is not a free program --- you can find more at http://download.cnet.com/windows/, just do a search for free software. however, if you dont mind paying the money for Vegas, i'd recommend it

although i do not believe it has a nudge option, it does still use the same winks, smilies, eetc as your client (ICQ, yahoo, AIM, MSN, whatever you use that trillian suppoerts). as for voice, yes they do work -- even cross-client, which is really nice. so say, for instance, that you use AIM ... you can do a voice convo with someone using ICQ, or MSN, or Yahoo! it also does video, with the same cross-client options i too use trillian ( the pro veresion ,although the free has most of the same features) and absolultey love it!
