Well, I have never really liked GM because it didn't seem like you were really doing what you had to to make a game. It felt like there was a little person inside your computer slaving away writing the code for you while you just point-and-click away. So I perfer C++ because you are doing alot more and you get more of a sense of satisfaction.

I have a couple of friends that want to step into the world of game development and make a small game. We want to make games for the experiance, not really the money. But we lack a few postions. We need a 3d modeller and another c++ programmer. The requierments are: You have to be under 20, not be a professional in the language, and willing to learn alot. Also you can't be lazy. So as you can see this is a learning experiance. Just post, PM, or e-mail me.

Well as I have said I have not really used DarkBASIC but I have used Blitz3D. I found Blitz3d very easy to learn and very powerful. I do not know which is more expensive but I really liked Blitz3D. I vote for that one.

I looked at DarkBasic and they seem very similar. Blitz to me was very easy to learn and had enormous potential. You could do basically anything with it. I just wish I had saved the files that I had been working on. I had a battle engine going and a few other things. So yes Blitz is a good buy.

I have to go with a desktop. I love doing vanity mods to my desktops, florescent lighting, coloring my watercooling system with dye, adding side windows, putting an led light behind my case badge, you know anything to look cool. Those are some things that are really hard to do with a laptop, I mean there isn't much you can do to mod your laptop at all, and I don't like to be limited in what I do. Also when I run alot of 3d intensive programs, and... lets face it you cant fit a huge video card in a laptop. Some people need a laptop for small size, but I have the extra room and I need the extra performance!

Most people who are big cs fan's started playing it when it first came out. I only started playing when i got my new computer and got Half Life 2. My friends urged me to play 1.6 and said that it was much better. I love Source... but 1.6 doesnt do anything for me. There seem to be way more people with aimbot, and I think source just runs smoother and looks way nicer. Another reason that I am liking source is because that I play Halo 2 and bungie pisses me off. I mean Valve comes out with updates and new maps once a month... sometimes more! Bungie on the other hand, just sits there and almost never comes out with new updates.

The only reason you people think that AMD's are better than Intel's is because you were told that from a thousand people, and the only reason those people believe that AMD's are better is because *BLEEP* so called gaming computers like alienware rip you off by giving you an AMD. Causing people to think WOW if all these 5,000 + dollar computers use AMD than they must be good proccesors. So I will compare the numbers for you and let you decide which one is better! WOW don't even talk about power PC! Both Intel and AMD are the best processor's out their, and with new technologies coming out like dual core processors It's hard to keep up with who is best. I admit that Intel's most powerful processor might cost about 200 more, so AMD might be your choice. If you want to see a full comparison take a look at EXTREME TECH magizine ( the one that shows you how to mod an atari I don't know what month) they even compare some prcessors most people don't know about like power pc and via technologies.

Muhahaha! Nevermind about that one boys I fixed it myself. All I did was reinstall it but made it copy the cd's to my hd. I'm running Linux right now. I feel so... powerfull.

OK now I have installed Mandrake but when I restart my computer it says NTLDR Missing.I'm thinking something like "WTF?"

Thx, I booted it from the dvd that I burend and it seems like it is working fine.

Hey, I just finished downloading the Mandriva Linux DVD iso and mounted it. After I mounted it I clicked the install button. I was felling all happy because I finally downloaded the 2gig file. But after I clicked the button nothing happened. I just sat and waited. Soon I started kicking my computer, but thats a whole other story. Can anyone help me out, I really want to get Linux working.
