  1. Yes i have been experiencing this problem as well on and off, it seems that instead of accepting the username and password the page refreshes showing the login screen again. This is very well a drawback of the changes being made here at Xisto and if so i myself and im sure the rest of the forum can patiently wait for a solution but a nod to say that is the case or maybe a shrug to say we dont know would also be good.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

had soemthing of a chat with Viz in the shout box about my problem when I was trying to point a mod to this thread to get some feed back. apparently they're having some server problems, so for the next couple days or so we'll be having these problems.

I don't relaly mind...my site isn't much mroe then a place holder right now, I was just going to update the index.html to add a link to a development journal, so the delay doesn't really bother me that much. Plus, free hosting in exchange for forum posting, sweet deal if you ask me, so if they need abit of time to tweak the servers I won't be complaining.

You're right that it's good to know when they're doing something, even just to know that they're doing some fixing up is good just for the peace of mind =/

  2. Well, waht kind of games do you like?If you've ever been a fan of mechs, I'd suggest a game called Phantom Crash, it's a fast paced mech game. different from mechwarrior and alot of other usual mech games in tht teh combat is faster plus there is a whole lot mroe customization possible with the different mechs.(ie: 3 different mech producers, different arm/back/body/leg modules, plus options that allow adding of more armor/camo/etc)It's pretty cool, check it out if you've even a hint of interest in mech games.Or if you like action/rpg style stuff, take a look for a game called Beyond Good and Evil, it's by the same guy as Fable, but it's a hell of a lot better, came out earlier then Fable and is a blast to play through, my only quip with the game is that there is aonly about 15-20 hours of gameplay. Other then the shortness, loved it to death.then there's the generic fps games, halo/halo2/doom3/et cetra, all these you've heard of and differ only slightly between each other, check them out and look for the different bits you like or would enjoy most about them (in terms fo live/splitscreen, story line, weapons/ingame options)I could probably snag some mroe titles down off the shelf to talk about, but this is it for now.Maybe you could give abit more info as to what you're looking for? You mentioned delta force, but are you looking only for an fps? or are you looking for army type games?

  3. Hi,I posted my problem in another thread where someone was having the same problem to save some space...in the hopes of not incuring mod wrath =/long story short, I can't log into my cpanel, I have the right user name, I ahve the right password, I have the right address to log in to...but it won't let me in.I can't get to the "retrieve password" page (i've tried entering the password more then three times and have gotten nothing but the same page over and over =P)and just to confirm. password to login to the msg board is the same password to login into cpanel, correct?

  4. For a 64 state system it would be that kind of thing only a lot more of it.  That's if we wanted to keep boolean logic.  Any power of two state system can emulate with a large truth table a two state system by simply extending a boolean logic table to deal with the multiple states as large binary numbers.

    ~Viz

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

    alright, that makes sense.

What exactely is the advantage to using a 64 state system? better ai and ui, but it was mentioned a couple posts up that it would use bigger chips and stuff.

and programs are written on and for two-state systems, how difficult would it be to program in a 64 state system or would there even be a switch? (considering a 64 state system could emulate a 2 state system, allowing programs written for 2 state systems to run on a64 state system)

  5. If you cancel the popup that asks for your password, or type it wrong 3 times it will ask for you to reset it by sending it to your email address

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I'm having the same problem, or I think I am, I know I'm putting in the right password (password for cpanel is the same for the Xisto msg board, right? x.x) and it won't let me login in.

I've entered more then three times and havent' gotten to the reset option in any way =S

is there any other way to reset/check password?

  6. Actually, because the 64 state computers are based on the 64 different quantum states, they would theoreticaly be tiny, only molecules big.  The only part that would take up any size would be the monitor.  And really, boolean logic could still be applied to any power of 2 state system, the tables would just have to be extended, so the computers could be used for all aspects, even gaming.

    ~Viz

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Extending those tables to include 64 states seems kind of...illogical doesn't it? I mean, with a 2 state system you have true/false, with a 3 state system you have true/false/possible, but with a 64 state system, even with 64 quantum states, what would they be? simply varying states or combinations of possible and true/false?

  7. I have heard people talking about having 2 monitors setup and they share the same desktop. When they move their mouse it can go to the other screen. How does this work exactly? Do I need any sort of extra hardware/software installed?

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

You can either run with two seperate graphics cards...or...ati all-in-wonder graphics card line.

I'm running an ati radeon 9600 xt a-i-w, gives me dual moniters, rca output (as 2nd moniter if desired), rca input, s-vid both was same as rca, plus some cool other features =D

    a-i-w 9600xt

    a-i-w 9600xt specs

check otu the rest of their line of stuff if you're interested, but it is probably easier (and cheaper) if you have an extra, older, graphics card llying around that you can use and simply set it to secondary. (just so your regular card is teh one doing most of the work...as long as it's the primary display card...I think =P)

  8. Wouldn't the lower resolution of TV affect such PC-like actions? I've always heard that the resolution of a TV is always much lower then on a normal computer monitor.

Now if this is true then this really rocks. Great for convincing the parents. It's not ONLY a game console ( and not ONLY the latest most coolest game console) but for that price you're getting a terribly fast PC too! What other offer can beat that?

    *already plotting*

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

think HD output, or if they're serious about linux on a ps3, a special plug to allow moniter output...so you can use an actual moniter.

But if the ps3 has high-def output, my guess is you won't have to concern your self about low resolutions =D and if you're worried about eh price of HD tv/moniters consider that the ps3 won't be coming out for a good year at the least, and by then prices will have dropped well within reasonable purchasing ranges LOL

This definitelly something I'm keeping my eye on, I'm not a big pc gamer and other then surfing the web and some random amateur video editing, I don't do much, so if this thing comes out and is decently priced in comparison to building a new computer when it comes time to upgrade, Linux ps3 will definitely be the best option.

  9. Old news, but the price might be right.I mean, come on, $300 for a system that's better then a pc??? wtf...it makes me wonder how ms/sony can sell these things and still make a profit. And becasue they are, it makes me frustrated because we pay so much for pc parts =P

  10. Hey,another question, related to my last thread. Are there different types of computer powersupplies? or are they all the same and can be used in all computers? I'm not refering to the different wattage of the supplies, simply if there are a variety of different types?I purchased a regular supply for my current computer as a replacement a while back and it had all the plugs I'm used to, but in my last thread here I mentioned I ran into an old computer. That computer's powersupply had most of the plugs I'm familiear with, but a few extra, plus some leds and stuff I was unsure of that attached to the front of the case and to a few different buttons. (old standby buttons for the hdd and moniter perhaps?)any info on this would be much appreciated!

  11. forgot comp specs...from work, so brief, more detail laterold computer, '95 or so?300w powersupply (what I'm hoping is dead, and the only problem), workstation specific powersupply?intel mobo1gb ram (I think anyways, 4 sticks covered with stuff)2 scuzzy hdd1 reg hddmaxtor video cardI had a breif discussion with a hardware friend of mine to talked about testing the chips for current on the mobo, can anyone explain how to do that in detail? as well as anyother methods of testing out the hardware (specifically the power/motherboard):('''dual pentium pro (holy...OLD LOL) processors on the motherboard, forgot to mention

  12. Hey,I ran into a computer that a friend of mine had been hanging onto from an office he used to work at. He couldn't get it to work and another friend of his that tried to get it to work could not either. (btw, these are a few guys quite a bit older then me).Anyways, long story short, he dropped it off to me after I did a bit of computer work for him at his house. So now I have a computer that is most likely completely dead, but that I'd like to eitehr fix up or scrap and salvage parts. My question is, how should I go about testing out the hardware of the computer?

  13. Has anyone read this yet?

    "The Microsoft story!"

damn...I guess it's the ps3 that's more like a computer when get down to it =/

It's funny, sony's been in the video game business for longer then ms by...forever it seems. And yet, it looks like, atleast from this article, that Sony doesn't really know what they're doing and haven't learned anything from their past experiences with console systems. If they're putting together hardware that isn't appropriate for gaming...

but of course they may have their own system of programming that they've developed over the years that no one is really aware of.

Or they may just be dooping everybody and this isn't their real console.

    LOL

  14. I`m plannin on buying both the PS3 and the Xbox 360.

I`ve never owned two newest consoles at the same time while most my friends have. But wid the next gen it`s a must.

Tha games that I`ll be buying the consoles for are:

    Playstation 3

    Gran Turismo 5

    Xbox 360

    Forza Motorsport 2 (sequel)

    Sorry about that ^

    I ment to type:

    • Xbox 360

    • Forza Motorsport 2 (sequel)

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Heh, ElFoReal, I hope you plan on waiting a while after their release before buying the systems. Otherwise you'll be paying a hell of a lot of money as well as risking the possibility of the first couple versions of the systems having errors and bugs and stuff considering they seem to be rushin 'em out the door like they do everything these days =P

  15. I hope halo3 doesn't come out with the x360 =SIt would suck if they rushed otu another halo title with an imcomplete ending again :D'' I think that would kill it for me.Besides, halo3 is planned to come otu when ps3 comes out, spring of 2006 supposedly, maybe earlier or later depending on different factors. Hopefully halo3 will be made on the regular xbox, if so and x360 is backwards compatable then halo3 will be playable on both xbox1 and xbox2 and halo3 and the x360 won't be competeing, Viola!

  16. basically... i want something like Flash saver...so maybe see what that is like them maybe someone can help...but that program may work...i will have to see in a minute

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I don't know of a way to capture flsh videos, but I do have a program that I use to get a hold of videos that websites stream on their sites.

    WM Recorder

If there is a video that a website allows you to stream, but doesn't allow you to download off of them, use this nifty program to capture the streaming video as you view it. It's a pretty slick program, you don't have to be viewing the stream as you record, it works kinda like a downloader, you pop in the address, or simply go to the streaming video while the program is running and it will grab the address. THen tell it to record and Viola! On your hdd =)

again, this is for capturing streamed video, not for flash stuff as far as I know...
