  2. Once a design artwork is finished and color proofed , the next focus would be brought to the printer . However , printer seldom like to show you the various processes that they can provide for you , and to share with you how can you perpare your artwork so as best to exploit those processes . Such indistinct steps allow flexibility advantage for them in cost , quality control , and time planning . Although different printers may have their unique press machine propecties and slightly variety of their workflow , however , the essence of the printing process should be similar . hus , the more understanging of printing process m the move advantage would shift back to designer or client .The earliest dated printed book known is the "Diamond Sutra" , printed in China in 868 CE . However , it is suspected that book printing may have occurred long before this date . In 1041 , movable clay type was first invented in China . Johannes Gutenberg inverted the printng press with replaceable wooden or metal letters in 1436 (completed by 1440) .The Gutenberg press with its wooden and later metal movable type printing brought dwon the price of printed materials and made such materials available for the masses . It remained the standard until the 20th century . During the centuries , amny newer printing technologies were developed bassed on Gutenberg's printing machine e.g. offset printing .

  3. No one talk Canon 350D ?It is the samllest Dslr and 8mp Coms a large resolution .Very small and light weight although hand grip is a little thin . Noise free 'silky smooth' images at ISO 100 , 200 , 400 and 800 . Excellent seven point AF system, fast, good in low light and reliable . Very fast startup (virtually instant) . USB 2.0 Hi-Speed support . Image quality is just as good as the more expensive EOS 20D, if you can live with the differences between the two the money saved could buy you a very nice lens. Not expensive ($899.9)

  4. Maybe Skate Team :You are great and right concept of typography . It is sure that comic sans is always giving us a funny and causal feeling . Different web site or different logo of different company also have their own style , it sholud using a suitable type face to setup an image . Which type face is the best suit ? I think no one can tell us , but , we can finding the answer from our experience .

  6. I like phpBB , although it is so confusing adding the MOD , it is free and simple and easy to install . And I think it is easy to search the skin and the mod over the web . I haven't learn any php script , but I also can manage my php forum .

  7. I like them.  I think they're nicely made, but like everyone else said... a little cluttered.  If someone was to use it as a desktop background, it could be difficult to read the program names.  I'm not sure if you're aware of this or not, but your site has some sidescroll to it also.  Just thought I'd tell you that so it'd be more easily viewed.  Keep up the good work.

    I agree~~~

The wallpaper , I think , should be clean near the circumference .You know the icon always on the left handside .

  8. "Typography" can be a very visual thing in Graphic design. It can not only refer to the actual meaning of the words but also convey the different tones of a message. Different tone can interpreted the context differently, right? For example:In general, with the use of typeface, serif font is more classic and conventional, and san serif is more modern and opened; bold is for more emphasis, all lower case is more friendly, all caps message is much harsh or angry, etc.Have you ever applied these elements to your design? And is it helpful? My simple Typography design . It was my assignment when I learning design .

  9. I agree. I think the Internet is the best tool you can use for learning how to do HTML and all the webs many languages. Try Googling for In-depth tutorials and guides.

The best thing you can do for yourself is hands-on learning. Find a small website, save it to your computer, then play with it's source code and see how the changes you make affect the way the page looks or works. This was how I learned how to make webpages 9 years ago was just by seeing how other pages worked. Once you see how they work, you'll quickly learn how to make your own and customize it to fit your needs.  :P

Woooo , it is the best way to learn webdeign and the html scripting . Also can save the money , hahaa.

On the other hand , some forum also provide the deign discussing area . I always go there and sharing my throught to each other

  10. The history of logo design and logos dates back to Greece in ancient times . The word "logo" means a name , symbol or trademark designed for easy recognition . Logo design history had it's humble beginnings as a cipher consisting of a single letter , and later a design or mark consisting of two or more letters together . The cipher may be either all the letters of a name , the initial letters , or the sumame of a person for use on stationery , business cards , or eisewhere .Many early Greek and Roman coins bear the monograms or logos of rulers or towns . The most famous of these early logos is the sacred monogram , which is formed by the conjunction of the first two Greek letters of XR , S , T , O and S : (Christ) , usually with the A : (alpha) and O : (omega) if the Apocalypose on each side of the coin . The Middle Ages were extremely prolific in inventing ciphers for ecclesiastical , artistic , and commercial use .A logo can be a sign of graphics or logotype and used as a company's symbol -- a corporate identity . The logo should be literally the first piece of graphyics that the reader would see , no matter on print covers or web pages . happy to design

  11. commercial art (good ones!) are important because they influence and define a large part of our lifestyles! when youre on the go and you see a billboard with a dressed model, or an ad for a pair of jeans that you like, it influences your dressing desires and subtly alters your priorities.

even if you dont have the opportunity to visit the museum and art studio, you are influenced by art, commercial art, everyday. its what makes everyday life colourful and beautiful.

  12. well i don't think it is because of your 'bad' english... although mine may not be the best, i do understand most everything when i read, and there seems to be no real point in this topic, besides discussing Commercial Arts Vs. Fine Arts (title).

i would suggest a poll for these kind of topics, but i think it is too late. maybe you (hihihihi88) should be more clear about what you want to discuss, do you want our opinion on what we like best? or is it something else? if this turns out to be a discussion i know anything about, i will post

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

    Thank you friso

I am now studying media art course so want to share my idea of art and design .

Design is seem like art , I think it can called commerecial art .

In my view I like fine art as ChronicLoser . But , you know , every one should earn money continue our life . Many art work can't earn money easily , especially in Hong Kong . However , I like art , but doing commercial art work . I feel so boring every day .

And I want to get everyone opinion that what would think about the different between design and art . And what art you like most . :)

  13. Unfortunately I have no idea how to do what your asking, however I would just like to advise you not to use MS frontpage ever again. It is a terrible web editor and it makes illegal pages. I suggest Macromedia Dreamweaver which is easily the best editor around with both WYSIWYG and coding capabilities. It does however cost quite alot so if you don't want to spend the money you can get a very nice Open Source editor from here. It is called 1st page 2000 and is much better  than MS frontpage. You can also get much better support from others who use this program.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Hey , I want to get more information about Frontpage makes illegal pages???

I sometimes use Frontpage for my webpage , I afriad that if it makes some illegal things .

And for the question of brouzine

I also advise using php is the best solution . :P

  14. Commercial Arts :

    Narrative

    Informative

    Purposeful

    Communication

    Target Oriented (audience)

    Problem soving

    Rationale

    Time concern

    Finr Arts :

    Abstract

    Imagination

    Personal interset

    Self expression

    Inspiration driven

    Exporing

    Freely

    No time constraint

And I think , design concepts and priniciples provide a basic guideline in organizing various design elements or aspects , say line . space , color , form , type , and image into a beautiful visual composition.
