  1. There have been rumours of a google browser for ages. I recently read that they hired the lead programmer on firefox. As you may know firefox has recently been taking up a large portion of internet explorers market share recently.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

    Hi,

I can imagine that an closer cooperation between mozilla and google is more possible than that google would spend time on making their own browser. I've been used firefox for almost a year now, and I can just say that IE is stone dead forever as NS has been for a while. And also thunderbird takes OE to the grave. I'm really excited to see what happen here in the future.

    Cheers!

  2. Hi,Sometime that even an webmaster or webdesigner can forget or search after forgotten tags, like me here today where I'm looking after an No Cache Meta tag. I thought that I had seen it some time for many year ago, but now can't I find it again or get it to work. So to get this started is this hereby my first post into this forum.Hope that many may find this an useful forum and either help me with my above request.Cheers!Jens

  3. HiIf I could would I really like to switch to Linux, but in all my computering life had I only have expirience with M$ OS, and some singular time with Mac OS. That is the biggest problem for me, as I know that M$ is crashing all the time and Dr. Watson is the most known employee at M$, but that have what ever that I like it or not been used to.Linux seems more stabile and more skalable than windows, but it is just so complicated. So if some could learn me how to do or advice me an easy Linux OS would I take it into my good night prayer..:-)See youCheers!Jens

  4. There is absolutely nothing wrong with "Green House effect" , instead, we need green house effect to keep our earth warm. The problem here is the "Increasing Green house effect", and not green house effect. With the increase of green house gases like, carbon dioxide, methane, nitrogen and CFCs, more heat is trapped and our temperature and sea level is rising. Soon, tropical trees will grow in temperate regions and temperate trees will grow in polar regions.. scary huh  ;) ..

    Hi again,

I do understand what you mean :-) Even that I'm an pure viking, do I really hate when the tempeture is lower than -20 degree celcius and defintly -40 as normal here in this area. But when the perma ice is melting can't I really find the party anymore, but the concequense of that wouldn't I either see in my lifetime, and either in my childrens lifetime. But an winter without any snow or ice isn't an right winter for me anyway. It would be alike an summer without sun.

    Cheers

  5. Hi,I wont call me for a atheist person, but more like an heathen person. As an pure Nordic (Scandinavian) would I decleare my true spirit to the Norse mythology and the Norse gods, as for me does it gives more than an reason to belive. For me is it a part of my culture legacy, and I even have dokumentation of conections to the old Vikings. They wasn't only babarians, but they also had an very beutyful spirit of questions about life and death, and for all that womens who might read these words did the norse mytology content huge respect for the female, or said in other words that the female sex was more stronger then when it is todays christian culture. And here in my part of the world was the christianity used to get the women and the regular people down.So my answer to what I'm belive in can I declare that I'm Asa beliver, and I could had wroten alot more about this issue, but I would like to discuss it here if any should be interested. In the name of ValhalCheers!Jens

  6. I don't think that new tech coming out has much to do with a search for the meaning of life, frankly.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

    Hi,

I don't agree with that, as all science has their roots in searching for the meaning of life and death. For me it's all about fighting the pain and suffering, as we as humanbeeing never had accept that the life has to be just pain and suffering. I'm not accepting it too, even that the most of my life has been one big fight, and therefor also this discussion about meaning of life, as I belive that some meaning has there to be, but where??? :-)

    Cheers

  7. Well, off the top of my head, I am inclined to say no.  The most obvious example for dualism would be black/white.  And here I talk about absolute black, or conceptual black (instead of some pigment), and the same for white.  One absorbs all light, and the other reflects at all.  So, from the standpoint of light reflectivity, they are indeed opposite.  However, is this an absolute truth? Or is it an illusion of some sort?  Well, if I take the standpoint, What color do I make my stealth bomber?(assuming you can use absolute colors in the way we use pigments), Black would be good, because it absorbs light, but white would be not terrible, since  it would blend with clouds.  Then all you would have to do is fly at cloud level. Not as good perhaps, but not opposite either.  Not a great example, so let me try something else:

To make a better example, let me expand the concept of black and white.  Black is absence, and white is existence.  This is how we normally deal with them right?

These two things seem completely opposite right?  Well, to make a practical matter of it all, is the glass half full or half empty?  One answer is both.  And that would be right.  The other good answer is that the glass is twice as big as it needs to be.  The thing here is that a 'lack' is an illusion.  We concieve of 'nothing' and treat it as a thing which has existence, both verbally and mentally.  In this way, despite our assigning it the value of 'nothing', it is really something itself.  These two 'poles' are the same, the only way we see them as opposite is through deluding ourselves.

    Food for thought.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Really interesting philosophy indeed. And your description about nothing looks also like "digging an half hole". What is a half glass of beer? A glass is a glass, even if its just half full or empty, so therefor has nothing also to be something or anything.

    Cheers

    Jens

  8. Hi, I can warmly recommand you both King Diamond and Mercyful Fate. These is much reminding about the old school Judas Priest. Anyway if you like these two bands you would love them, and if you dialike them you would hate them..:-)

    Cheers

    Jens

I like Headbangers Ball and metal but some of its just too hardcore for my tastes. I like Killswitch Engage, Megadeth, Fear Factory, Nightwish,Helmet, bands like that. I dont like the all screaming type except for Lamb of God.

  9. Hi,

I didn't saied that I had the answers, but seem in an philosophical corner is these questions always the basicaly essense of all philosophical questions. I think that this issue is extremly exciting to discuss, and if I had the answer wouldn't I ever had asked. But god wipes is always optimal and the first step into the light. In not an negative guy, I'm just interested into philosophy.

    Cheers

Hello your question daene that to have some kind of significance

A great many people are necessary to you believe that another one grew from the stars they think that you die and you go to heaven, I in my opinion believe that we expected always something positive but in reality the LIFE DOES NOT HAVE WHY TO HAVE A SIGNIFICANCE,

    Simply he is stops

  10. I know that the contents in life do you have to make by your self, and I also know that it's impossible to get all reason about why things are like it is. But many of reasons is possible to find, where would the ex. gen technology had been without searching for reasons? DNA's can answer many of surch questions, but still not them all.

As I see it, there is NO meaning of life. It's something people have thought up, because they (we) always search for a reason behind everything. We just can't take it that there isn't any reason to live.

Religions are an excellent example of people who are searching for a meaning of life. God is their explanation of why we are here, and the meaning of life would then naturally live as best as you can and deserve yourself a place in heaven.

But that's not the way it works! There just isn't any meaning of life! That is to say, it doesn't have any meaning by itself. It doesn't mean that you can't give your life a meaning.

You have to do something you really like doing: go fish, do some work in the garden, play music, whatever! If you feel your doing something useful, or if the thing you're doing really cheers you up and put you in a good mood, that's the thing! That's your meaning you put to life.

BTW- No offense to people who believe in god. I'm just not a believer, I can't get myself to believe in God.

  11. Yes I've seen that mega hole over anactica and it scares me too. I also know that it isn't just the greenhouse effect that reason the change of the global weather condition, but I don't think that we should ignore the posibility of reason, as these changes had been happen faster than they did counted. And by the way does chaos rules in the mother nature.

I wouldn't be so fast to attribute odd weather to the greenhouse effect.  Yes temperatures are rising, but fairly slowly.  I think it is supposed to increase precipitation levels due to a higher average of vapor in the atmosphere, however.  I actually believe the more immediate problem to be ozone depletion.  That hole over antarctica scares me, I mean have you seen the pictures of it?  Nature is so unpredictable already that as far as humans are concerned the weather is practically a probability equation.  It recently snowed in New Orleans, LA, USA and it has been about 16 years since it happened, so if it happened then, i don't think that it snowing this year would be solely due to the greenhouse effect.  But yes you are right, the global weather has been strange this year.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

  12. We have been told this for now many years, but what is actually happen? Snowchaos in California, flooding in Central Europe and at least Green christmas in Northren Scandinavia. Don't any take this serious? Or isn't the right time to start to change our culture and the way how we're violate our mother nature? I know that this we're getting today is what we had saved in the atmosphere for the last 100 years, but if we continue this it would even be worse in the next generation. I know that I'm one of these who taking the car to destinations where I could had used my legs to walk, and I'm not proud of it either, but I like to know if there is other who think about how serious it actually looks like today, and then if there is someone who think about their lifestyle could have influrence on it.Not so much Cheers here more than worried thoughtsJens

  13. I belive that everything that happen and everything that we're doing is must have some kind of reason for something. But I also do belive that it isn't always we understand for what reason or understand for what reason that we can use that or these situations we are going through in our lifetime. I think that it's extremly interesting topic to study, but I'm also known about that it's not all questions or requests that we're able to get to know, as someone or somehow had decided it just have to be like so of somekind of reason..:-) Life is really strange and sometimes extremly complicated.CheersJens

  14. Not excited to see that Google was leading in this poll. Once upon the time was Yahoo and Altavista leading, but I agree 100% with all the other adds in this poll forum that Google is the fastest and often the place where you're finding what you're looking for, and when I don't find it do I use some of the others. So a big greatings to our sponsors Google..:-)CheersJens

  16. HiAs you said almost everybody into metal likes Black Sabbath, they did inventet the most of the genre into metal. What would Death, Doom, Gothic and Black Metal had been without Black Sabbath? You can ask everyone who likes above genres if they got one or more Black Sabbath album in their collection, and I would be supprieced if they don't.My favo album is ofcause the first one, and I'm proud to annonce that I have the first and Paranoid and Sabbath Bloody Sabbath as original editions (Vinyl ofcause)CheersJens

  17. Its just that music has been getting increasingly bad since the end of the ninteys.  Not just metal, all of it.  Or at least, the music on the RADIO has gotten worse.  Good music(even metal) still exists, it has just gotten harder to find.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Exactly, and it was also one of my ideas with this forum, as I also like to know about new exciting bands on the metal front as sometimes is the old a little boring. So if you have some hints then go for it..:-)

    Cheers

  19. In general, you're right.

Metal has been going downhill for a while, which is shown by the growth of newpunk. Cmon, do u really think that rubbish would have made it big if the other stuff was still good?

Dont even get me started on emo...

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I wouldn't say that Metal is going downhill, but metal isn't just metal anymore. As you mentioned is some part of metal growth in direction of what you're calling "newpunk" another part are playing the same song that they had being played the last 30 years and the last is being soap tv star, Ozzy.

But is it forbidden to be nostalgic? :-)

I'm mostly to the good old school (and ofcause old records)

    Cheers and again happy newyear

  20. Since I rarely read long posts (including ones before my own post), I have to assume that the following has not been said.  If it has, then oh well.  :)

The barriers are coping mechanisms.  Thus, to deal with coping mechanisms, one has to face what is troubling to that specific person.  If one clams up at the mention of holidays, then one must tread down memory lane back to his or her past holidays and face the experiences that make them uncomfortable.  Since it's a lot easier to not say anything, the most basic solution is to just start talking.  Tell what you feel, at the present.  It can be so simple as "I feel sad."  Then, talk about what makes you sad.  It's a gradual process, and by no means does anyone expect to make a breakthrough during the first 15 minutes.  As time goes by, you'll be able to express more accurately what you feel and what's making you feel that way.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I can't agree with you more, as it's often too simple to just deleare that you're feeling sad, but going into the kernel of why you're feeling sad is often more complicated, as at the first it can have more than one reason, and then does it also hurting to face the trouth, but when you had faced it then can you start to work with it.

  21. I think that is an good question. But I can as one of the first present my #1 favourite band, Dead Kennedys, album Frankenkrist and tune Too drunk to f*** and Holyday in Cambodia. Sex Pistoles isn't forgotten either and here is my favourite tune God save the queen and Anarchy in UK. Nina Hagen Band Unbehagen...:-)

(B4 metal was I punkrocker at the old school..:-) )

    Cheers!

    Jens

    Punk is still not dead!

If here happens to be anyone else who is into punk rock let's get some discussion started!

Your favourite bands and albums? And do you have some local, not so well known, bands to share with us.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

  22. It sounds like you have friends but they don't want to help you, or are unable to have the patience to listen to your problems.  Making new friends is difficult, but one of the most important things is that the "coolest" people aren't necessarily the best friends.  I learnt that a long time ago, and it's a valuable lesson.

I don't what the problems in your life are (are there any specific problems or is it just generally life getting you down?)  Talking to people can make you feel better if you have good friends (obviously bad friends aren't much use).  However, a lot of the time they can ONLY make you FEEL better, and can't actually solve the problem.

If you know of a problem in your life that you can't solve, post the SORT of problem (no need to post specifically, you can keep your privacy if you prefer)  By "sort of problem" i mean is it a form of bullying (many adults complain of this at work), or a feeling of inadequacy, or just a general feeling of depression.  That sort of thing.  It would be easier to give advice if we had a vague idea of what the problem is.  (However, if you're uncomfortable with the idea then just say so - I wouldn't want to push anybody)

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I know that but I don't have much problems with privacy regarding surch problems, as I know that we're many who feels like this and then further is realation problems an standard in todays living. The best thing is to speak about it and then go on, and a part of it to see that you're not alone in this world who have problems. Here in sweden had they done a test about the best selling medecinal products and not quiet surpricing was it following:

    1. Painkillers like Treo

    2. Antidepresive

    3. Nicorette (Stop smoking chewinggums)

    What a world....!!!!

    Cheers

    Jens
