How we see a web page...
roninmedia replied to deivid1405241470's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Very interesting. An actual study of social behavior and patterns and the internet. It might make me rethink my design because my current design is reminiscint of most new sites. -
In terms of things I need, I want a subdomain, PHP, MySQL, no ads, ftp. Space and bandwidth are an afterthought since I don't use much.

I suggest you try putting the closing quotations at the end of the file path.

Static means it stays the same.Dynamic means it changes.

how do you think about cpanel
roninmedia replied to xavierduan's topic in Websites and Web Designing
I like the ease of cpanel but I can make and managa a site without it. I have been building sites for too long without it to get enamored by it. -
Please don't go overboard with javascript and other dynamic features. It gets annoying to some users.

I run an old system. I only have a AMD Athlon 1.0 Ghz processor. My system is actually 4 years old but it still runs well.

What Think You Of Windows Xp-95-98-2000
roninmedia replied to gc472118's topic in Websites and Web Designing
actually, the complete source code of windows 2000 was leaked last year because I remember taking a look at the code. As for me, I use windows XP because it runs fine on my pc and is more of a mainstream OS than the business model of Windows 2000. -
I wait for the day when MNGs come out and destroy all.MNG (pronounced ``ming''), is short for Multiple-image Network Graphics. Designed with the same modular philosophy as PNG and by many of the same people, MNG is intended to provide a home for all of the multi-image capabilities that have no place in PNG. There is considerable debate over whether to make MNG a dirt-simple ``glue'' format around PNG or a complex multimedia format capable of integrating animations, audio and even video.

phpBB2 vs IPB Didnt know what forum to put this in
roninmedia replied to Troop107-Admin's topic in Software
I would go with IPB because of functionality and the array of options you can choose to distinguish it from other forums and incorporate other scripts directly in IPB. -
Photohop CS and Imageready combined make some really really good stuff.

I've been using wordpress for about a year, but it takes a lot of time and effort to find free host that will actually support wordpress. I wholeheartedly recommend if you have a page that supports all the features needed for a good blog, that you migrate your blog to that host. It allows so much more customization and a unique identity.

Web content management Software or web-based programs..
roninmedia replied to kokushta's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Honestly, most CMS software out there like Mambo and PHPNuke are somewhat bulky and cluttered with many features that you won't need. A simply way around that is to use maybe a blog software (wordpress) and incorporate that into your site to maybe make it easier.
