I'm not the majoritarian.:)Though C, C++, Java is different between each other. I think C language is valuable to learn. I learnt C in 1990 and now I has already forgot the very detail. But I got the basic concept of the programming, this still help me in the programming with other language. Actually for our programmers, the languages are just the tools, we may choose one from others, but the skill in programming is the important and could be helpful each time.Of couse, we may choose C++ to learn at first, then transfer to Java.

I'm building my website now and I'm anxious to know how to use the mysql.I have the development experience with Oracle and C++. But is new to mysql and html or asp.Would the experts here state the steps how to use the mysql here? Thanks in advance.

Considering the MAC address, though someone ever told me that it can be faked, I think it's enough safe for the usage at home because the others don't know the MAC address you set.

Hi currahee, I think it's really difficult to say which is easier to make, software or hardware. Currently, the More rule still be true in hardware making, but why it is not true in software making. Considering the cost of processors and software: Though processors can only be made by few companies. But they master the technology and can make the processors in large scale, this will reduce the TCO for each chip. But normally a software is developed for one enterprise or for only one purpose, this make the TCO high. Do you think so?

Hi fabius, I'm not family with technology in wireless networking. would you introduce the wep key more detail. In my opinion, the difference between wire and wireless networking is the transfer channel. Though in wire networking, some tools can listen others communication, so the security also needs to be considered. What's your opinion?

Hi honeycomb. It's wonderful to meet the people with same interesting here. However, it's really difficult to develop a frame which could be used in every company. There are more then ten teams in our company, and we have finished more than twenty projects. I found we had to modify the process to get more benefit. Generally, good team training gains more than cost. Good plan will reduce the risks and give the team more confidence. In development, peer review is required in all of our projects to ensure the high quality. If possible, you may introduce the problem or difficulty in the software development here, and we can discuss the detail method to improve the status. I totally agree with you: First, new technology drives the process. When waterfall model came out, the project managers lead the projects in confidence. With the innovation of network, the processes such as PSP, TSP, XP, RUP or others are used. When I joined the computer conferences, I found that many people are now conducting the research of automatic coding: the customer could then use UML or similar entity to build their own business. I wonder if the process currently should consider such tendency. Second, no process is always right. Normally the process should be modified to be used in a specific project. Sometimes there will be several processes model used in one project. I haven't been involved in a website/webservice project, and I want to know the real world in projects. If possible, would you tell me something in your development.

Every time when I thinking about the processors, I could not forget that I have three Intel processor (PII 100, PII 133, PIII 300A) put inside my box instead of my computer.When we buy a software, always we can get the update with or without little fee, but why we spent so much money on the update of processors. Is the cost of processor reasonable for us? Could we pay the new processor in the update model?

It seems only me use Celeron, my processor is 1.7Ghz. The main reason I choose just because it's a Intel processor, maybe more stable than others. I choose Celeron because it is the very cheap one.However, its performance is not very good.

I'm a Ph.D. student in China, my research work focus on "Software process". I'm interested in software process improvement in Company. But one of my friends suggest me to be a senior architect as he found I have talent there. However, I don't know what's the difference in salary in US between SEPG(software engineering process group, whose goal is to improve the process in its company) senior member and senior architect.

RUP, XP, Waterfall play great roal in large software projects, and we must choose the right process and modify it correctly in a certain project. But is it important when design or develop website? Or there is no cooperative work need to do when designning or developing website?

To improve the website design and development, what we should do in integration the tools and methods?orWe just operate these matter manully?

Maybe Mysql is the most popular DBMS used in Web programming, but what about the others such as Oracle, DB2?How to choose the better one in website planning?

Is there any software to clean spyware/adware? My computer (installed with win98) was reported by adserver.com that has such virus, but I couldn't run the downloaded software.

That's good idea, however, virus alway names its process with the same name in windows and make us some difficult to find it manually. Besides, in Windows XP, there are so many processes, it's hard to find the bad process.
