  1. Wedjarl, remember the tweening/flash animations :)Gotta try it soon.
  2. Dragons, being mythological and often depicted in fantasy dont necessarily have to follow a strict guideline on their anatomy or physiology =]. they can be ugly if they want, they can be the opposite, they can have whatever features/bone structure/color etc. Nothing can be perfect -edit- and yes, i made the sig about half a year ago, i cbf making a new one =].
  3. i can see you used a heavy scanline overlay for the layer =p. tis ok i reckon, though the text can get a bit hard to read, perhaps try to make it stick out a bit more (that is.. the Wedjarl Dementia's text at the bottom, the top right is ace) in image ready, theres a feature called Tweening otherwise reffered to 'in beTWEENing' use it to make the light source glow smoother, then export to .swf if you havent already through image ready =].plus, your best to resize that sig down to atleast 100x500 [ hight x width ]
  4. yah, dont get used to filters, if you need help creating some good effects without the use of filters and/or how to make 'shapes' like interfaces n such. all you have to do is ask and either me or someone else will answer in due time. =]
  5. Adobe Photoshop is a great way to create pictures even from scratch. http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop.html Adobe Image Ready [ Photoshop Animation ] hence the name, is better equipped for animation rather than painting (you can still do reasonable graphics even without photoshop - take a look at the banner above that i submitted, that was made 100% in image ready) you can download a trial version for photoshop CS from here: http://www.adobe.com/products/tryadobe/main.jsp - Adobe Photoshop 8.0 (CS) Tryout for Windows - 152MB http://www.adobe.com/products/tryadobe/main.jsp - Adobe Photoshop 8.0 (CS) Tryout for MacOS - 250MB I cant find the image ready addon's.. but they are most likely in those downloads above... not sure though. Image Ready is also a great way for web-site building (your own sites ofcourse) because you can make your images such as tables, navigation bars, interfaces etc then slice up the pieces and easily code them in through html/whichever other format.. you can also pre-program the sliced pieces if they contain buttons, roll-over text/buttons for example, its mainly automatic, real great stuff - a must try. Theres a thread in this forum that describes just that. - http://forums.xisto.com/topic/79667-topic/?findpost=1064272921 by jcguy I really havent used any other programs except for macromedia flash (which im very nub at still =p ) so if you need any help with above, just ask your questions and ill try to answer them. By the way, wizzywig, that looks quite nice, good for black backgrounds (such as your patriot website) but perhaps.. i dont think you shouldve needed to spend 1 and a half hours for that =/..
  6. well.. i guess i could enter this.
  7. Well.. it depends on whats involved ofcourse. If you wish to know anything just pm me on details/questions. =]
  8. as it is a good effort, try blurring the edges of the Altahost text, seems very pixelated =/ and if you intend to use those coloured (green / marone ) ones individually, they can be quite hard to read. spruce it up a bit if you can, if you need help with ideas on doing that, just ask =]. eg: you can even do a completely different theme to it.
  9. You should try other methods rather than just using filters mate, from what i can see you are using a bunch of filters to get a fancy effect in the bg, then slapping a white strip on with a times new roman text, dont be afraid to experiment with different features of using photoshop (if you are using PS..? ) =]. such as these below that i made a little while back. this one, was animated using photoshop image ready - you can animate your sigs if you wish? (image ready includes the tweening feature) this one is just a gradient text with a stroke effect done on it, then i drew the dragon 'holding' onto the text. \/ so on so forth \/ this one was from Natural Selection ( Half life mod ), for a guy named kurupt, the fade (or the creature on the right) was painted in.
  10. or, select the ellipticle marquee toolclick-drag a box around the object you wish to have a border around (even the circular marquee.. or any others..)goto Select (at the top toolbar)goto Modifygoto Borderthen depending on the resolution of the spreadsheet your working with, just enter a pixel number (eg for a 1024x768 image, 10 pixel is ok for a border)select the color you want for the border, and make it the secondary color by pressing 'x'.. once youve selected your desired color ( 'x' key switches the pallete your working on around)then press ctrl-backspace (or fill area), and doneif you want, after filling the area, deselect the 'border' action (by going into the history tab and clicking just above the 'border' action) then go to select/modify/border again, and do about 3 to 5 times the pixels you entered beforepress enter, then, create a new layer and set the Fill [ % ] field to about 30 or 40%then fill with whatever color you wish.. to create a Glow around the border.or if you want to do something quickly, just goto the same layer you did the original border with and click on effects -> outer glow, then fiddle with the settings there =]
