  1. Well, in my opinion Final Fantasy made the market. The classic battle system is still used even in games today, though slightly polished. The "world map" feature is another notable addition that hasn't faded out. Let's not forget that Final Fantasy is the landmark game that launched all of this into motion. But I wouldn't give all the credit to that one title. FF has all the makings of a great game but still tends to lack in some categories that others have not. Chrono Trigger - whats not to love about this game? Music, Story, Characters everything about this game rules and continues to for me. I played this back in the days before FF7, so I have to go with Chrono Trigger for MY favorite RPG.1. Chrono Trigger2. Final Fantasy (All)3. Zelda (psh* All)4. Morrowind:Elderscrolls and Fable would rate as some newer favorites. - done
  2. I still recall the old Metroid and Castlevania digs, those ancient plastic magic wonderlands where (as a kid) you could escape life for an hour or so. I think games now kind of suck the imagination out of us, the newer consoles delivier so much we are hardly given the chance to exercise our own thoughts, or even focus on what we really like about games. Now there are faults in games made simply for the purpose of job security and the mighty dollar. However, Metroid, Castlevania, Mario and Zelda 1&2 still rule the world of olden consoles. (FF rules games period) Those games were in truth nothing compared to games now as far as sound quality or graphics but they still had self-driven concepts that stood on their own. Not like games that you can buy today with the quality and calibur of titles like 50 Cents Bulletproof or Rumble Roses. -done.
