Yea, they've actually been marketing the iPod touch as a gaming console. Even though it isn't a great console, its what they're doing. :/

I remember seeing on the news quite a while back, that some people were making fake $20 bills on 5$ bills. So it had all the right texture and what not, but it had the watermark (the one if you hold it up to the light) of a 5$ bill.. I think that's what it was. Maybe they made it on a $10 but the point is they used a real bill to make a higher bill. Wasn't half bad idea except they caught on to it. lol.

That's not solving the problem. That's avoiding the problem. :/ Which tends to be the way it shouldn't be, they should fix it, or allow us to fix us it ourselves, which is something Microsoft won't do. Let's hope they fix it or change it before the final release.

I stopped using IE since FF came out, but I was curious to see this new ui IE is flaunting. First of all, my internet is slow. I hated the fact that you had to Download a 45mb file, just to download it again. Why on earth would I want to do that? Anyway, after a system restart, I was able to see the newly ui'ed browser. I hate it. The tabs should not be on the right of the url bar. That's just crowded. I agree, the url bar doesn't need to be that long (as on chrome) since most urls are SEO friendly and url shorteners are used more and more. However, the tabs can't be crammed like that. I made 5 tabs with my browser and it was already clipping the titles of the pages. In more relation to this post, I'm glad to see MS sticking to standards a bit more. Its finally about time. As a web developer, I can say IE was losing my support at about IE 7. If they can pick up their standards a bit more, I think IE might get back in with the new big boys. Until then, Nice try IE, better luck next round.

There's always room for competition. The only thing you need to realize is that to be successful, you need to offer something new to the users. Otherwise, what's the poing in switching right? I say if you think you can do a feature better than what's out there, and you have ideas for improvement, and want to invest your time, go for it. There is always the possibility to not need any of the above to get popular, but that's a lot harder to entice new users, unless they plan on using your services for.. shall we say, non-desired uses (spamming, etc).

As mentioned, doing your best is relative. You can only do the best of your 60% which would still be doing your best to 100%. Aslo it was mentioned you can't rate your "best" which is true. My "best" at working on a car would be to open the hood and go "yep, that's an engine", while another's would be to take apart the engine and check each piece for the broken part. Bests are relative. "best" just sucks. It 's a terrible word, that has no definite meaning. "of the highest quality, excellence, or standing:" according to Dictionary.com. This states the highest, but highest is based on opinion. As is said "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder". You cannot say one woman is better than another. You cannot say this one is the best. So saying you did better than another person just can't happen to where everyone agrees 100%. And that's what best assumes. All similar consensus.

I enjoyed reading this, made lot of things sort of click I suppose. I didn't know that everything was a wave, which really changes my perspective on Chemistry.. I hated that class.In regards to this force field, that Trophy thing seemed to just send radio frequencies to the missile to make it think it was hitting (with conjunction of a magnet). So not really a forcefield as we are hypothesizing in this thread.The idea of a forcefield seems very unlikely to be possible due to the fact that if you were able to create it, then you must be able to destroy it or break it. Ie: Diamond. You can create the shape, meaning it isn't indestructible. Just an example.So creating a "forcefield" using anything wouldn't be much better than building a wall of diamond or something of equal toughness.Just my 2 cents.

That's insane. I didn't know that. I didn't notice any issues with Photoshop on the 100 :/ Trippy. I wouldn't have thought something like that would be easily done, but doing a bit of reading, it seems to be quite simple for Photoshop. I suppose I know now, even more than before that counterfeiting money is serious!

I would NOT recommend switching to Visual Basic from C++. I agree completely with truefusion. Look at Qt. It is cross platform, and has lots of documentation. The reason to not go to Visual Basic is that Basic is a completely different beast. Doesn't have curly braces, semicolons, and what not. If ANYTHING, switch to Visual C# or Visual C++. However, my personal preferences would be Qt (I despise the .net framework).

Haha, I was actually bored one day, and decided to make copies of some 100s my mum cashed out from the bank. Placed the bill in the scanner, and printed front/back. I accidently flipped the bill incorrectly so instead of saying 100, it said 001. Well, my friend saw it and, being an inspiring cop informed me of the laws of counterfeiting. I was like "I know, but isn't this cool?". Well turns out, that according to the US Law, any sort of bill attempting to imitate a USA Bill, is illegal, regardless of how poorly done. So my backwards 100$ bill would get me in the same amount of trouble as a perfectly copied, created and manufactured non-paper counterfeit bill.

I commented out what I could make out of the script below. What this script does is forward the post and get parameters to the server, and outputs the results.

Hi, so I'm dab. I enjoy sunsets, walking on the beach and dancing in the rain... Oh wait no I don't. I actually enjoy programming. Currently dabbling with PHP and junk. Once I finish my PHP project I'll be moving on to C++ and whatnot. I love messing with Domain names and Servers, but I don't domain squat. I just like having a pretty collection... :x.
