A Note About The Mycent System

velma

Currently my mood lies between procrastinating and lazing therefore bear with me . I thought I would add points on a few differences between the old credit system and the new Mycent system, changes will be made according to changes made by OpaQue :lol:1. Deduction of creditIn the earlier credit system, credit got deducted when a member's posts were deleted but this is not the case in the mycent system. In the mycent system, you need to "unapprove" a mycent member's posts for at least 24 hours before you proceed to delete it. Apparently if you directly delete a post/topic, OpaQue's script will not be able to track down enough data to remove the necessary amount of mycent. This rule though applies only to those who are "earning" mycent. A members starts earning Mycent after making 5 posts and has his billing profile linked. If you find a genuine spammer, feel free to directly annihilate him & his posts without any mercy.. But if you find those that can improve or deserve a warning, unapprove the rubbish posts and delete them 2-3 days later. Warning the member automatically prevents a member from earning his credit.

So, whe should not delete the "unapproved" topic immediately.I don't see the unapproval date, so we only have to guess if these posts have stood in the unapproved state since several days.

velma

Yeah, like for example, you find a topic by Algo not upto forum standards, you are to first unapprove it and then give it a day or two before you proceed to delete it.OpaQue says that deleting the unapproved stuff isn't really all that important BUT what is important is the need to "unapprove" it in the first place. I think we can take turns to do it once a week. I quite enjoy deleting 7 pages of spam during the weekends (weird I know but really therapeutic)

yordan

Once a week is a great idea. Some posts will have lasted one day, some other ones will have lasted seven days, why not? OK, let's do it like that.

velma

Yeah, since the system does not tell you when you "unapproved" the stupid post, I thought it was best to let it stick around unapproved.. So on the coming sunday, we delete posts unapproved in the past week. Except for the ones we unapprove that sunday.. Thankfully there isn't much in Xisto.. the crap is filling by the buckets in Knowlegesutra...Hopefully OpaQue has a very nice gift in store for the new year
