5 Reasons To Stay Away From Google+

Recommended Posts

Okay. You can skip it if you have no respect to anyones privacy(including your own) and have nothing to hide from world. Or want anyone to take control or look at your profile, data or other information. For the rest read on if you are waiting for google+ profiles.

1. No Private Profiles - Facebook offers privacy by masking your profile for unwanted users or people. That way your images and data is only accessed by friends or family in the friend list. Google+ has no such feature and in fact they're deleting private profile feature. So your family pictures are open to view in google search and are easy to manipulate to rapist, child abusers and other criminals. It is even open for identity thieves.

2. No Pseudonames - If you're using facebook to avoid office members or school members or family then such possibility is not offered in google+. They're going to delete pseudonames profile as abuse to system. SO they need your real name to monitor you.

According to a couple of German websites, some profiles with pseudonames were removed. -Mashable.com

3. Search visibility - All the google profiles are likely to be available for search in google search engine in people or find people featuer or find profile feature from oct. 2011 onwards or eeven earlier.

4. Blogger Integration - If you're keeping your blogger blogs away from your family or friends or relatives or online friends then this will no longer be possible. Most of the anonymous affilaite marketers, anonymous writers, poets and other type of anonymous blogger will be affected. Blogger and picasa are going to be part of Google+ profiles and so it is possible for others to access them from your profile connection in bio field.

5. Security - Biggest issue with Google+ is security. There are already security issues with Orkut and other google services. Script kiddies and identity theft and profile hacking is common with Orkut and some folks on orkut security groups are claiming that hacking google+ is not going to be difficult because of poor app connections and loopholes.

Not sure about others but i guess these are enough reasons to keep myself away from google+. You can decide for yourself and for your identity and data.

Okay, first of all you're completely wrong about a lot of points. 1) The "private profiles" you're talking about are actually Google profiles, it's a thing that already exists for quite a while and has nothing to do with Google+ (in fact, it's not because you use Google services that you need a profile, so if you don't want your Google Profile in public, just delete it (if possible).2) Facebook officially doesn't support pseudonames or nicknames either, it's impossible to create a profile with some weird character in it, or multiple capitals in one word. What Google is deleting right now are company profiles because Google is developing special Google+ profiles for companies3) Wrong: completely wrong, there will be an option to get excluded from the search results which is in fact much better than what Facebook offers right now (on Facebook you can only exclude yourself from the facebook search, but not from Google search). However, don't be fooled, your **** is all over the internet and other search engines are like the flies that are attracted to this ****: you can't be erased from the internet, you can't hide yourself, you can only do your best to protect your privacy.4) I don't realy see the problem here, if you're already using Blogger and Picasa, then you want people to read an see your 'creations', why not share it a bit more with your relatives ? If you're using Blogger and Picasa then you're already using Google services so I don't see the problem with it being integrated in Google+ (no matter what, you can still hide it from certain circles, but as said in 3, you can't hide yourself). If you're not happy with the integration, you can use Wordpress, Microsoft Live Writer, Flickr, ... as alternative5) You're kidding me, Google offers a lot of money if someone detects a weak point and besides, if it gets as popular as Facebook then they'll have to get their security walls up. Orkut is for Google just another failed project and it's no surprise they don't support it that well anymore (it's not correct, but nobody notices it because nobody uses Orkut anyway). So ... I'm sorry to say, but your 5 reason are worthless, you should investigate a bit more before copying rumours from the internet. The only valid reason I can think of right now is that it's yet another Google service and that they are already controling your life too much and have too much information about you and no mather what, you don't want it to get worse than it already is.//edit: and yes, in case you're wondering, that's why I don't want a Google+ profile nor a Facebook profile, let's keep things cluttered over the internet and give the flies some work instead of serving them **** on a plate.

1) You have not yet seen the google plus and still commenting on it ? that's funny, do you have account ? because youre talking about google account profiles. I have already used this service and the profiles inside google plus are different than google account profiles. When you open google plus profile like facebook, all the information is open to view for public and anyone can view it simply by searching. PS- I know what i'm talking about.

2) I do have pseudoname on facebook and i don't have weird characters in it. But there is possibility of using pseudonames so you're wrong again. Google already did pseudoname deletion on orkut when they started that network and they're doing the same here. it has nothing to do with company profiles at all. Learn to read the link that i have posted earlier.

3) Are you kidding me ? I have private profile on facebook which is not available to view at all on google search. I can easily hide all the information to friends only. So you have no idea about privacy of facebook.

However, don't be fooled, your **** is all over the internet and other search engines are like the flies that are attracted to this ****: you can't be erased from the internet, you can't hide yourself, you can only do your best to protect your privacy.

Pretty much BS. I have pseudonames on internet forums and it has nothing to do with my identity. If pseudonames are erased there is nothing to do for my identity. I can create another pseudoname on internet and also hide myself. Learn to understand what is privacy first and how psydonames can help.

4) Have you ever done any niche marketing or are you engaged into affiliate marketing ? by pointing these blogs under your profile name, your competitor friends in list can see that. So niche stealing and competitor issues in aff network applies. Like this there are many other issues with non-anonymous profiles. And yes, it was possible to hide identity before this crackdown. Do you even understand these things ?or just posting for the sake of mycents.

5) No you're kidding me with your BS. Orkut is hacked every 3 or so month by hackers, using fake identity theft problems, groups etc and though it is failed project, still it is part of google. It shows how google has more security issues than facebook and any other social network. Do you even know how many people use orkut or which userbase they target ? no wonder you blabber without knowing all this.

So ... I'm sorry to say, but your 5 reason are worthless, you should investigate a bit more before copying rumours from the internet.

Another load of BS attack. Find all the places from where i copied this from and then accuse me for it. I have these things noted on my own. So before accusing me with load of BS and for the sake of mycents find the copied rumors in my first post and then blabber.

The only valid reason I can think of right now is that it's yet another Google service and that they are already controling your life too much and have too much information about you and no mather what, you don't want it to get worse than it already is.

yes, but we have choice not to use and opt out of it. Thanks for BS attacks all over these 5 points. I hope you learn to investigate more before accusing others and making assumption about things. Note to yordan, in case if you're thinking my refutation to this poster is wrong then you can see where i have given facts throughout and how this guy is posting BS. So let's just get to the facts before you can warn me for that.

Very exciting event, unfortunately, at the very first moment the project launched, it's blocked in my region. ;) Sorry I can't comment on this project, because the internet here is cursed. As much as I love google products, I'm thinking to move away from google. Only Gmail is consistantly accessable but connection is very slow. For the other google products, sometimes suddently can be accessable, after several days or weeks excitment, got blocked again. Need to pray hard, ask God to take a look at this cursed land, then, maybe some other day, will suddenly accessable again.I'm fed up. I would give up.I wish you all enjoy all the wonderful stuffs that this internet has to offer.

I'd like to try Google+ but I have to wait approximately two weeks to turn 18. ;)But I'm quite happy with Facebook really, even though it isn't the best when it comes to privacy, or reliability (in chat especially). The problem with Google+ is that as a new start up, my friends need to move to it. Another problem is, most of my friends aren't 18 yet, so therefore, no Google+ for them.
