The amount of myCENTS earned by a post can change. It is possible to get an average of around $ 0.30 for a post. This happens when the post is on topic, offers a reasonable amount of information and when the post has a sort of lenght. Like a lenght of 1/4 of a computer screen offers probably $ 0.05 to $ 0.10. A lenght of 1/2 of a computer monitor offers probably $ 0.10 to $ 0.15. A post with a lenght of 3/4 of a computer screen offers probably $ 0.30.It is possible that a post results in a negative amount of myCENTS too. When the post is put in a topic that is considered to be spam and when the topic gets deleted it is possible that an amount of myCENTS get distracted from the myCENTS amount. This can happen with a topic start that is considered to be useless, nonsense, spam, advertising and otherwise unappreciated.Roughly it seems the earnings of a post can result from negative - $ 0.30 to positive + $ 0.30.When somebody takes care not to post in a thread that looks like containing a spam start post and when a user of the forum doesn't post spam the possibility that an amount of myCENTS gets deducted from the credits account are very small. The option exists. This means that with the idea to give useful information based on the goal to give within limitations and as reasonable as possible complete information about this topic it seems suitable to inform about this possibility too.
Well yes, it's best to not post in obvious SPAM topics and reply to SPAM posts, due to they are removed (including your posts) and you loose your MyCENTS, that's why you need to report a SPAM post, but not to reply to it, if you want to report it of course. Also, all the posts which are removed because it's useless or nonsense by moderators as I know you really loose the mycents you gathered, for example, you posted a post and copied the text from another source and didn't quote it, the moderator usually quotes it for you and gives you a warning of somekind, that way you loose your mycents from that post you got by copying and pasting, I can't really confirm, but maybe you even loose more than you got? Don't really know, I usually try to quote and give a link to the source of the text. This is a useful contribution to this topic. It is possible that a post get deleted while the topic stays in the forum. The content of the post can be considered to be not useful to the forum. There can be several reasons for this judgement. The content can be in a language other than English. The post can be considered to be spam. The post can consider advertisement. There are lots of reasons. And copying and pasting content without telling it can make a post deletable too.

There have been people with a negative balance of the myCENTS account. This means that more myCENTS were taken from the account than were earned. An account can become negative. This might happen when the myCENTS that would be earned by a post that is deleted are reducted because of the deletion before the myCENTS of the deleted post are added to the account.
When I first joined Xisto I was far too eager to jump right in and start earning myCENTs and neglected to read through the rules for posting. I posted a massive list of little fun facts gathered from various sources and forgot to quote the text. I earned around $6 from the post and immediately spent it on a hosting package. Once yordan referred me to the rules and quoted out the text, my account became negative and I had to earn my way back up to a positive amount. By sticking to the rules and making posts that are relative and useful, I have been able to earn so far exactly $101 in converted myCENTs and am grateful to opaque for providing me the opportunity to exchange knowledge for premium hosting.
If you would like some examples of the amount of myCENTs, here are several different tutorials I have written which should give you a broader perspective of the content->earnings ratio.
Advanced login - 300 myCENTs
8ennetts Text-based Mmorpg Part 3 - 150 myCENTs
Image-Verification-Script - 50 myCENTs
Those are approximate amounts from what I can remember, but they should give you a better understanding of accumulating myCENTs.I have a widescreen monitor with 1920x1080 so that description is a little innacurate in my case lol, what resolution were you referring to?

In the start post it is stated, that mycents can get negative. There is some information about negative mycents in the bottom of the forum. And the posts over there offer some insight in the topic of this thread.
According to the post of vujsa, who is or was the admin of the forum, 150% of the mycents that are earned by a post that gets deleted are deducted from the total amount of the mycents account.
A post that gets deleted because the post is considered spam because the post contains nonsense links and referal links results in a deduction of 150% of the amount of mycents that was earned by that post. When a post gets deleted because the post is a response in a thread of which the start post is considered to be spam the same reduction applies.
Here is the content of the post of Admin vujsa.
Recently, I have notice a large amount of junk posts here that seemed to slip by our staff. As I see this junk, I will be deleting it unless it negatively affects the flow of the discussion. When I delete these posts, 1.5 times the number credits that the post earned will be deducted from the users account. This is automated as a punishment for posting junk. I have no control over your credits and I cannot manually adjust your credits up or down.
Junk: one line or very small posts or posts that are off topic or make no sense!
Spam: Unsolicited or inappropriately submitted links or any referal links posted!
Junk posts are deleted. If there are enough of them we ban you or suspend your account.
Spam posts are deleted and you will be banned!
"But I didn't spam and my post was rather large!"
This happen when the topic that you posted in gets deleted. I hate when this happens since it punishes good members for the bad behavior of bad members. PLEASE, don't reply to junk or spam! Use the report this post button or PM a staff members. If you really want to be a good neighbor, you can simple add a one line post like so:
CODEThis won't cost you anything in credits when deleted because quoted material is ignored by the credit script!
This topic is junk, do not reply to it.
Pointing this stuff out to staff and other members will greatly reduce the amount of spam that we have here. As a result, we will be better enabled to provide you with the assistance you need when you need it instead of trying to sort through all of the junk!
One additional thought, if you think that there is a possibility that an article has been plagiarized, don't reply to it. Again, these topic or posts will be deleted and your post may go with it!
Thank you for your cooperations in this matter.
Well in my particular case I started in the Xisto forum where the Mycents rate are a little low in my aprecciation. In Xisto my post are more valuable althougth it is supposed to be the same in the two forums. I think that the start post is not rigth because all of us have different screen resolution settings and I find more important to determine the rate of a post by characthers than screen size. My post are not so long for different reasons.1. I can speak and write in English but my natural language is Spanish, so you maybe can understand me why is a little difficult to write in english long post when this is not your natural language.2. I know about typing but I have a lot of errors when I am writing. I think I have to re-learn typing because I make a lot of mistakes when I am writing. I am fast but that is useless when I lose a lot of time pushing the backspace key.3. I am not so fast. And maybe this is related with the English too but I can´t think and write quickly like I can in Spanish. This is because I am thinking in Spanish and I have to translate my thinkness to the english and then write it. If Xisto would a Spanish forum the process in my brain would quickly than normal. Now, to make good money in the Xisto and Xisto forums you have to post. Not only post of course. You have to make good quality post. I know that sometimes we are so tired and we post not because we are interested in the topic but we need the Mycents to pay our hosting plan. So I recommend to all the members to post everyday if you can. And if you don´t found anything interesting for you in the forum you can open a new topic with something that is interesting for you and wait for the comments and then re-comment to the members and in this way you have created a good discussion with an interesting topic for you and you will be inspirated to write long post and make a lot of Mycents.I want to think that the purpose of all of us in this forum is not only to get a hosting plan or a domain but we want to share our knowledge and in this way we can enjoy to write good quality post and it´s easier to keep posting everyday. It´s difficult and you get tired soon when you are only posting to make Mycents because there is a moment when you don´t find anything more to write and you can fall in the temptation of make spam to earn mycents quickly.
