Bad Luck [solved] Domain Registration

imjjss

I was thinking to register a .asia domain. It was on sell at $8.99 at Xisto - Web Hosting last month. Looks great. But I wasn't sure which name is better-- I had several ideas on my mind. Also, MyCent was not enough to pay for that. So, I waited, thinking the domain and accumulate Mycent. Now MyCent nearly enough, I jumped in Xisto - Web Hosting to register. Guess what? It's not on sale anymore, it's now $18 I saw on other sites the .asia domains are still on sale, only Xisto - Web Hosting finish the promotion. What a bad luck I have!

Yes, I also noticed that all the domain name types (.com, .org, .asia) do not cost the same price, probably local regulation changes, for instance local pricing increase in asia?Did you try opening a ticket asking the reason of this price change? Doing that way you would have quicky the real reason.RegardsYordan

Good idea. I should open a ticket asking for the promotion details so that I will be better informed next time when chance come.

btw did you mean to put bad luck as yout topic title and not back luck. i think this is something to learn from as well if you want to accumlate that much money then you should research the non sale price first so that you don't get stopped by the end of the sale. btw don't take this as an ofence its just me giving you tips on how to make sure you still have enough mycents even if the sale ends. and as you are accumlating mycents you should also check Xisto - Web Hosting every so often to check that the domain is still on sale. another thing is that alot of domains also get charged on their length and how rare they are like 1 character names i believe cost alot more since there is only 24 letters available.

Bad luck, do you confirm? I expected the title to be a widely spread private joke, reversely shortening "Bad luck when I came Back" Sorry. Seriously, I changed the topic to "Bad Luck", waiting for a smarter suggestion.

That sale was ended few months earlier. It's just that site is not updated regularly here on xisto network. Many domains are still shown with sale headline or to catch attention. But they are not at that price at all. Take case of .asia and .in domains which are still shown with that offer price on Xisto - Domains.com. I think main site needs changes on regular interval, unless people here in xisto changes that more and more people are going to fall for it and then open thread like bad luck, but it's not relly

Yeah. I noticed that the .com, .net, and .org domain name price changed. I believed they used to be $9.99/year but now it is $12.99. I personally really don't mind at all though. It is just an extra quarter that I have to earn a month which isn't really that bad.

I received support ticket reply. Nik said that promotion was ended a while ago. Right now it's $12.99 on a new promotion till the end of this month. OMG, I better hurry up, currently mycent is nearly $8, gonna need another $4 I got confused about the joke on "Bad Luck", is it an special English meaning for this?

Errr.... It was intended to be a very smart English joke, brillantly created by myself. Seems to have not been so brillant as expected, and imjss's analysis unfortunately showed that it's even merely not a joke.

I guess we have to change the thread title to "Good Luck"-- The support team informed me that new promotion started today at $6.04. What a surprise! I jumped over to order my domain immediately

The payment is not settled yet though. I don't see any connection between the https://xisto.com/ and the Billing system that we signed up for MyCent record. I submit a ticket asking how to do it. Hope the MyCent payment option can be valid there.

If get positive result, we change the title to Good Luck

By the way, I'm a dummy on English jokes, you can't relay on my for laughter

Please provide more information about the new promotion. The Billing and Support Section doesn't show any information about this promotion price. And https://xisto.com/ doesn't show any information about a lower price either.

The title Back Luck seems to be a contraction of I am back and Bad luck and I have bad luck when I am back.

That seems quite right. Please remember that, with the MyCents System, probably you can only order domains available on the Billing & Support site. For standard people, a ".asia" domain costs $18.99/1year.
So, please, keep us informed if the reduced price worked for you. Then, we will be able to switch the topic title to "Lucky Strike after Bad Luck".

No reply from the support team yet.

zenia, click this link https://xisto.com/ You'll see some domains highlighted as Hot Deal.

Seems Xisto - Web Hosting has 2 links, one is the https://xisto.com/ which is with our Billing center. The Xisto - Domains.com has its own billing system, but they uses the same supporting system.

I got reply-- this new promotion is not available for MyCent option. Here's the reply:

Yes, you can use your MyCents for registering your domain and for hosting your domain. But if you are placing an order for domain through promotional offer in Xisto - Domains, then you cannot use your MyCents for registering your domain. For promotional offer you will have to pay through PayPal or 2Checkout payment Gateway.
If you are buying any domain from our billing system through the below URL, then you can use your MyCents for registering or hosting your domain

http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/

Currently Promotional offers are not available in our billing system.

Please use the PayPal or 2Checkout as Payment Gateway if you want to buy the domain from promotional offer.

So, this strike luck finally didn't come.

I'm not in a hurry for a new domain, currently I have 2 free Russiona domain working. It's just nice to "buy" something at a great bargon via MyCent

No problem, wait next promotion in our billing center.

zenia

https://de.godaddy.com/ has a promotion. A .com domain for 1 year costs $ 1.17. The promotion code is holiday99. It needs a creditcard or a debetcard to order and to pay the order.

The online payment is a problem for me no matter how cheap it is. The end result is funny-Our currency CNY is not freely traded in the world. So, for any international transation by wire transfer, there is a lot of fees added:1. A flat fee at cny150, that's USD212. Exchange cost. Currently 1USD = 0.65CNY, but this is a middle price. when you go bank, there's a bid price and offer price. In international financial market, you can see the spread between bid and ask is around 50 to 100 points. But if you go banks to change money, they charge you at least double spread; 3. The cost of "convert cash to exchange", that's the most funny stuff I can't understand. Basically, it means, you can't wire cash, if you want to wire, you change it to "exchange" first. If your friend wire money into your account, it is "exchange", you can't use it unless you convert it to "cash";4. The wire transfer service fee, that's a percentage on the amount you want to wire.Adding all the fee together, it makes things funny. And you can't wire just $1.17 from bank counter if you don't use credit card. Of course if you use credit card, the fee is higher because there's credit card service process added in the bank system.

that to me seems like one complicated way of doing things and it seems to me like they invented a costly way on how to pull more and more money out of people on things which would not nomrally cost alot of money. i suppose the good thing about the mycents for you is that you don't pay these charges because your account on this forum and on xisto is not in your country hence you don't have annoying fees to pay. i would see mycents then compared to the charges you have to go through as the cheaper option since you don't have pay the inflated fees to people and everything and you can tell the banks where they can stick their fees. i d say the money here is actualy in material goods which you could sell online and have the money placed into paypal. or you could easily use ads on your site (bannerads) and have them so that they pay money into a paypal account which would allow you to use that to pay for the domain.
