OpaQue will be adding the rules and regulations for a mycents client. Before that I would like to know your opinions as to how we can manage this :-
1. Any member caught spamming be it copy/pasting or posting more than 3 one liners he will be warned and suspended for 2 days. This has to be strictly followed to make sure that no one tries to cheat my cents.
2. Email address(Xisto and billing email address) should not be changed by any member unless he sends a support ticket.
Deleting a Post / Moving it to SPAM will decrease member myCENTS. That's why MyCENT was introduced in the first place. Before the money gets credited to Xisto - Support, it should be easier to deduct credits incase we find a user spamming.
WARN LEVELS are considered and cause member to get less myCENTS
Present Warn level consideration causes a SLIGHT decrease in the amount of myCENTS offered per post.
I was thinking on the terms that, if WARN level is more than 0. Then user does not earn anything (and existing credited funds would be immediately removed) at Xisto - Support.com/billing/; Until this member approaches a moderator and actually gets his account fixed, till then he is stuck.
HOW TO HANDLE SPAMMERS?
1. A spammer posts X random copy-paste posts and signs up with same e-mail on Xisto - Support and gets myCENTS and proceeds for activation.
2. A member making 5 posts only get eligible for myCENTS but not necessarily means that he gets 2-3 USD in his account. Its imp. to communicate to him about his eligibility. And I want this -automated-.
- things that will happen at Xisto - Support.com -
1. The member cannot buy domain as he will really have to post a lot and I m sure, we will catch him by the time he gets ready to buy a domain.
2. If the member has even 1 WARN level, We shall not activate his account. (we get to see this in our Billing Area)
3. To Gain services of Xisto - Support, a user must have his WARN level 0. Warn level can be easily checked, inside Xisto - Support.com
I feel, We can EXPLOIT the "warn" feature as a medium to signal FORUM <-> SUPPORT-TEAM
Warn Level 1 -> No Domain Related Activation
Warn Level 2 -> No Hosting as well as Domain Related Activation.
Warn Level 3 or more -> No Support Applicable for member.
The Credit System now will not consider members who have warn level more than 1 and will not credit any myCENTs to themI guess that a mod will warn. Will there be a way of activating the 2-days suspension with an automatic return at the end of the two days, or will we have to remember that tomorrow I have myself to manually un-suspend the guy I suspended yesterday for two days?
e will be warned and suspended for 2 days.
In IP.Board, suspending a member is unsuspended automatically. Except for the warning level, disabling posting rights for x hours or days, and suspending a member for x hours or days are released automatically.
Copy and paste is by the plaguarism or does it also relate to the debate that's in the Quoted Posts post too? I need clarification on that.xboxrulz
I would suggest adding a new forum to the top of the board that would contain nothing but "READ FIRST" information about the hosting and the forums. Currently we do have "Announcements", but it's all somewhat jumbled and filled with member's posts. A "Read first" forum would, in my head, just have closed topics with relevant and correct information.Maybe we could first start from from vujsa moderating guide (http://forums.xisto.com/topic/94898-topic/?findpost=1064383569 )

And maybe we could also open a separate topic in the "Mod Discussion" forum for the particular copy-paste question, namely "quoting myself", because it's only a small (although annoying) part of the whole Mycent rules.
Under your control panel, lower left, you will see Moderator Tools. The option to Manage Announcements lets you create a short post that can be displayed in all forum (at the very top), or just selected forum sections.

I use it in Xisto to just say a quick word about if you need more information please visit the following Read Me and just list links to posts. Would this work? Looks like there's something there by a previous user but I think it needs more than what's listed.

Although I am an admin, all of you are better acquainted with Xisto than I. I try to stay away from "this is how it should be" for Xisto. I can only support limited things such as hosting issues and forum account issues. So vujsa's moderating guide is like OpaQue's guide. If you feel you need further explanation than what is listed please feel free to post and discuss.
What I would like to say, however, is that you were all selected by vujsa, m^e, and OpaQue to lead this forum as though this forum was your own. Therefore, your view and decision regarding this forum is 100% correct, in my opinion. If you were uncertain you would have first discussed with another mod before you took that action, right? So what you finalized is what I will support--even though some may view it differently. And here is the check-and-balance system: when you treat this forum like it was your own, you would not make a decision in a haste. And the decision you make would be the most right one at that situation and at that time, according to the forum rules.
Have 100% confidence that admins of this forum will back moderators. And it's okay that even moderators don't see things eye to eye.
