Just to update Xisto moderators on what's been going on at Xisto 1. Do we continue to screen applications? This will not be required. A member after sign-up, is required to make 5 posts to be eligible for earning cents/post. After this, he needs to sign-up at Xisto - Support.com/billing and he is all set in 5 hours.2. Are the current members expected to convert to the "paid" account plans soon? When? (if known)Yes, Members are requested to go ahead and order package by logging into your account. Proceed to order any package of your choice and complete order by check-out. During Checkout, its recommended to use PAYPAL as your payment gateway (even though you will not require to make any payment, as the Billing system will credit the invoice from your available credit money)3. What Plans are available for Hosting under the "paid" system? Any CH plan?Anything.4. Are posts worth more or less than the ver 2.0 system?More.I will answer this question after 1 month :-)5. Are Mod plans the same per each service available?Mods will get extra credits per post. This will not apply to past posts.6. Referral links are hinted at. Any Banners or buttons or html code available for that?Just like old days, members make and share smile.gifInvoice payment (for a new order or existing order) will be DEBITED(subtracted) from the CREDIT BALANCE(inside Xisto - Support) automatically.A manual invoice payment using your Credit Balance should not be required. However, its better to keep a watch on your invoices. If they go pending, you will surely receive an ALERT e-mail.Any Account xxxxxx.trap17.com OR xxxxxx.astahost.com will be forced to be hosted on server GAMMA only.xxxx.qupis.com will be forced to be hosted on another server.I would urge members to collect credits and buy a domain.I will be adding NEW domains to the list so that they can hosted anywhere on our cluster. As the $$ you earn are not going to reduce, its easier for members to collect and buy :-)Procedure to Order a Sub-Domain===========================Suppose, you want to register, myfirstwebsite.trap17.com1. Select "I will update my nameservers on an existing domain Or I will register a new domain." at Step 1.2. You will see two fields to enter your MAIN DOMAIN NAME and EXTENSION3. Your main domain name should be : "myfirstwebsite" (without quotes)4. Your Extension should be : "Xisto.com" (without quotes) Choices for Sub-Domains (these can be hosted anywhere on our cluster) 1. elugs.com 2. tuckie.com 3. creativeriots.com 4. protectgaea.com 5. xysis.net 6. Xisto.com -> will be hosted on server gamma only 7. Xisto.com -> will be hosted on server gamma onlyNotice from BuffaloHELP:I don't need to remind Xisto moderators to keep this for yourself, right
How about domain names that hosted members already own? Will they also be on the Gamma server? How about existing ones as well?xboxrulz
When a domain name field is provided during checkout, I believe your account would be hosted by Theta or Iota. Again, details of how it's working at the backend is still being made as we go along. Gamma is for those who do not have their own domain name. So they "share" the subdomain name under Xisto.com.To purchase a domain, you will require 999.00 myCENT. This equals $9.99 in Account Credit Balance. An average post in Xisto should bring about 10 myCENT. So it would be fair to say making 100 posts could equal to 1 free domain name. Which is so much better than 250 hosting credits for 1 free domain name. Hosting credits depleted. Account Credit Balance will not unless a moderator deletes or spams a post. With the above assumption, 400 posts would equal to 1 Xisto - Web Hosting Plan 3S which is about the current Xisto Default hosting package. And it's good for 1 year. Now members have the option to pay off (I am careful not to say "pay" because we want to emphasize free web hosting still) the invoice monthly or annually. Annually just saves one month of extra payment. So if we take Plan 3S as an example it costs $3.33 a month. That's about 33-34 posts a month that yields 10 myCENT each. That's less than 2 average sized posts per day. Is this do-able? Absolutely and hopefully
i c i c. I'm also wondering if existing users are allowed to move between servers or all the existing users are going to all be crammed into Gamma?xboxrulz
Cramming in one Gamma server isn't the issue, according to OpaQue. But OpaQue would rather have TLD hosting accounts in another monitored server other than Gamma. He will request all Xisto hosting members to consider purchasing a domain name. But, as is and will always be, it's up to each hosting member to decide.
Hmmm.. i c i c. I have a domain name, so would I be swapped into another server? or will I stay put? Also, if members don't post for a while will they lose "money" off the earning system or will they only lose cents. Not too sure how that works. Also, the hosting credits is still showing. Will that stay put or will that be removed in the future?xboxrulz
The old hosting credit system depleted as time went by.The new Credit System with myCENT will not deplete and the Account Credit Balance will stay put. The incentive to join forum activity is to earn additional myCENT to pay for things, such as hosting renewal annually or monthly, domain purchase, other hosting upgrades, etc.You can have $100 Account Credit Balance and not have to post in the forum until the next renewal.
So, moderators will be billed how much monthly then, I'm not getting how the deductions work for existing clients.xboxrulz
OpaQue can calculate when you activated your hosting and how much it would require until 1 year renewal is coming up. He will be fair and create an invoice that will show the balance remaining until the next renewal. For example, if you have 2 months to go, you will be billed for next 2 months and then you can renew another 1 year for hosting or decide to go with monthly plan. That's up to you.Or, OpaQue will designate when you will be billed not according to your expiration time but according to when you signed up when the Credit System v3 went on-line. All this is being decided by OpaQue as he sees what would be the best fair decision for all--existing hosting members and Xisto - Web Hosting. So all we can do is just wait for his announcement. There will not be a special plans for moderators. Instead moderators will earn faster (more) than rest of members. This too is still in the works so again, we have to wait for OpaQue's final word.
Indeed, from al I have seen, OpaQue will be more than fair! By the way, please congratulate him for his part in shooting the Moon! That is a real achievement for India. I look forward to reading about its continued success. From what I have read so far, it is a real science project, not just a stunt. The craft has instrumentation on board to analyze the mineral content of the surface of the moon, thereby resolving some fundamental questions about its early history. Now, if CS V3 can lead Xisto to similar heights ...

Sorry to go offtopic here, but I feel India is stupid to explore and venture on moons spending Millions whereas the SAME Million number are dying here of hunger. I understand, making a house on the moon on day will be sooo exciting for say... that one billionaire who actually makes up for it. But what about the rest, we still need more than a 10,000 schools, about a Lakh teachers, Good mode of transportation, Electricity and water.
If its about knowledge and research, USA and NASA are already doing good job. We are all humans, if you are researching there, why the heck should i bother waste an EXTRA money and do the same business. Its worthwhile to send our Indian Brains to work in NASA or say any other foreign space organisation.
Knowledge in itself is independent and does not consider race, gender or nation. Tomm, when history says, A Man was capable of reaching the moon, its not going to specifically mention.. ohh, it was just the americans or just the russians.
As for CS-v3, I am sure it will keep the excitement up and will give more reasons for members to spend time with each other
I confirm, seems that OpaQue is effectively more than fair.

Let's just wait and see what he shall decide on. For now, we'll just sit back and do what we always do, moderate (or take over the world, depending on our mood =P).xboxrulz
