A hurricane-like storm, two-thirds the diameter of Earth, is raging at Saturn's south pole, new images from Nasa's Cassini space probe reveal. Measuring 5,000 miles (8,000km) across, the storm is the first hurricane ever detected on a planet other than Earth. Scientists say the storm has the eye and eye-wall clouds characteristic of a hurricane and its winds are swirling clockwise at 350mph.do you have any new information/thoughts on this event?

Now thats is dated from 2004, so I assume this is newly released article. Of which it is wrong because of that link.

If you want to get technical, the great red spot is a giant storm of hurricane status as well and has been going on 350+ years. Also the red spot is the size of earth's diameter.

Unless this came from a nasa website I just proved everything wrong with that article.

But it could change once I see a link.

Ah, the marvels of science. Was that "spot" on Jupiter not a hurricane, or is it another classification of storm?

The thought that there are giant masses like Earth floating around in space is just incredible to me. It's so mind blowing to think that we are so unbelievably tiny in such a big universe. Pluto was just recently kicked out of the rank of "planethood". Any thoughts on that, anyone?

@leafbunk to you question their was a good heated discussion both here and on trap about Pluto get kicked off the starting line up.I disagreed with the fact they kicked Pluto out and saying it's not big enough . If that was the case mercury would be kicked out and we be done to 7.@kardus the answer it that the red spot is also a hurricane like storm like the the one that was discovered.

In my eyes, Pluto is a planet. It had several layers and a distinguished core. Yes it may have been frozen, but it was a planet in our system for long enough to be counted. I'd expect it to be reinstated sometime soon, this was just a basic rash decision to end the debate. Size should have nothing to do with planatory systems.@unimatrix - lol. It must be.Global warming is however affecting Britain, and quite badly. We're starting to get periodic tornado's ripping through parts of our country. London, Birmingham and some place in Wales have all been hit within the past two years. My mum has never heard anything like it. Last time we had a tornado was about 10-12 years ago.
