New York Lawyer Arrested In Canada Turned over to U.S. officials, under investigation for renting girls f

This is a really really strange news and quite "scary" too :s

A New York attorney specializing in tax law, under investigation by a U.S. grand jury for renting two underage girls from their mother for sex, was arrested on an immigration warrant last week in Grimsby by Niagara Region police but then released.

 

James Colliton, 42, formerly with top-shelf law firm Cravath, Swaine & Moore in New York City, was picked up last Friday by local police, the Toronto Fugitive Squad and immigration officials, Niagara Regional Police Detective Sergeant Bob Jackson said yesterday.

 

But because it was an immigration matter involving him being unlawfully in the country, he was taken into the custody of Canadian immigration officials.

 

âIf the offence was in the United States, we donât have jurisdiction,â said Jackson. âWe donât arrest people for offences that happen (there.)â

 

Last night several American media outlets were reporting that Colliton had been handed over to Department of Homeland Security officials at the Rainbow Bridge in Niagara Falls, New York by Canadian officials. Canadian Border Services and immigration officials could not be reached last night to confirm the reports.

 

New York City police officers who went to Collitonâs apartment yesterday found a note asking them to contact his lawyer.

 

Barbara Thompson, a spokesperson for the Manhattan District Attorney said Colliton is officially considered a fugitive.

 

Colliton was in Canada while a grand jury, which only made public the charges against him yesterday, was investigating allegations that he used two teenage sisters aged 15 and 13, as prostitutes in his Manhattan apartment.

 

Thompson said the charges against Colliton involved incidents that dated back to the summer of 2000.

 

The indictment charges that Colliton gave the girls alcohol and marijuana, and the paid the young girl to have sex with him between 2000 and 2004.

 

In late 2004, the indictment charges, the 15-year-old girlâs sister - then 13 - also moved into Collitonâs apartment with her motherâs permission.

 

Although the 13 year old moved back to her motherâs place, her mother then sent her back to Collitonâs apartment who then allegedly began a sexual relationship with her that lasted for more than a year.

 

The charges state that Colliton engaged in oral, anal and vaginal intercourse with the younger girl approximately five times a month - and paid fees to the mother based on the sex acts he was committing with her daughter.

 

Colliton met the girlsâ 38-year-old mother in 2004 and began to pay her money to continue having access to her daughters.

 

The mother, whose name has not been released, faces charges of promoting prostitution and endangering the welfare of a child.

 

The investigation began after the 13-year-old, who is now 14, told New York City Administration of Childrenâsâ Services about her mother and what happened.

 

Colliton also faces charges of bribing a witness and urging the witness to lie about him, with him allegedly going as far as sending them money.

 

The law firm Colliton worked for is considered to be one of Americaâs top law firms, which has as regular clients companies such as IBM and Time Warner.

 

I feel bad for the kids.

*Yagh* Horrible that people do such things of course, but I must say it doesn't really surprise me. There simply so much of that dirty minded people. Well, of course there are only a few of them, but because it's so terrible what they do that it seems like there are tons of them. I feel very bad for the kids. Well ... it's good that the mother is being charged with the appropriate crimes. I feel bad for her daughters. They'll probably need quite a bit of therapy to help them get through the nasty things that have happened to them. *sighs* I don't understand what makes some people do stuff like this.

This is just like Biogeohistory (I know its not a word, bear with me for a sec). In that you know how some species like lions i guess that actually choose their mate instead of females choosing the mate which is usually the occurence. With lions, the males can mate all they want anytime. Doesn't this describe us humans? If without a proper civilized society like we have now, females would be like dirt. This may seem untrue but you have to look at other circumstances such as developing nations like Nigeria. The Igbo, Hausa-Fulani and many other tribes there have men who rule the entire family. The women are just sex partners and treated as if they are a medium for reproduction. Trully, It's a temptation all men cannot resist. There is not one man in the world who has not looked at a woman in lust. I've heard that somewhere before but i forgot where so i can't quote. The only thing stopping men from "mating" is the modern society around us. It is normal for humans to try to act like everyone else in a society and if no one else is having any public sexual relationships why would you do it?

its bad , but whats the shock . this happens every day in the world. I thought this kind of stuff wouldn't happen in socieites like North America (atleast molestation of young) . But my perception changed after i lived there for 2 years (you jokers..no i wasnt molested ..hahaha ..very funny) . North American society is very materaialistic and this deed would be their demise..people like George Bush who want to impose their morailty , and people like Larry Flynt and Huegh Heffner who indirectly promote their morailty will never be able to straighten out things. North America needs a true leader at this juncture who can not only maintain a blance between morality and freedom , but can also help spread this moderration to other places (like my home land Pakistan ..where eitehr its the Islamists with Guns or the liberals with morals totally in negation of Islam)

Technocian; yes it is common that a man looks to a woman with some kind of temptation. But if you do the act the same at a girl of twenty, thirty or maybe even more years younger then you, I guess there's something wrong with you. Humans act like this because they want to reproduct, but girls of ten years old aren't made therefor, sometimes they aren't even mature. People who do things like this don't do it for reproduction anyway, they just do it for their own pleasure.
