Houdini

My FTP Quit Working havent changed anything

Recommended Posts

Here's the error, I have not been able to connect in two days.

Command:	USER houdiniResponse:	331 User houdini OK. Password requiredCommand:	PASS ********Response:	530 Authentication failed, sorry
I went and even added a new account in the cPanel and it says I have an account, that one did not work either. I tried all that stuff with every account that I have and the same result, my phpMyAdmin works OK but I edit files with an ftp application built into my editor, those setting are correct so then I tried to use my regular FTP client I have even tried to use the browser with no success, is the FTP server broke? Here's the pic of trying to use the browser and the error that I got there. I had to use file manager to upload this file.Posted Image

That is what I posted to the site for everything except for FTP works, it simply acts like my password is invalid so the reason for creating another account it comes up with a 421 error ("Unable to set up a secure anonymous FTP"). So even though I am using the same password and all that I have always it simply acts like my account is wrong.

Just returns to the 421 error, will not connect, then with my FTP client it throws 530 Authentication failed, sorry It's like my password is being refused, do I need to have it reset and emailed to me, cause I simply can just use the file manager to deal with my site especially if I am uploading a whole folder.

This has happened to me a lot of times. As far as I know, that me ans that you cannot connect to the host if you are 'anonymous'. I connect through Total Commander and there is a check button for anonymous connection. Try connecting by using TC without checking that function. Always works for me B)

I fixed it I had to use ftp.mysubdomain.astahost.com with my username and password and it came right up. If this happens to anyone esle use ftp.yourdomain.astahost.com to connect with your username and password.

Now back to business why did the ftp Xisto.com used to work and now I am having to use my domain, I have not really changed anything except by OS which crashed (maybe it was always that way) Must be another operator error, well I am back to FTP so it doesn't matter. B)

It's a bit weird... If you are using a FTP manger, then it should be smart enough to put 'ftp.' by itself. When using Total Commander I simply type in 'mysubdomain.astahost.com' and it works.

This is happening to me too. I'm going to submit a support ticket and try to get this issue sorted, i am trying to set up a mini site for my friend and his ftp access isn't working (subsubdomain.subdomain.astahost.com), and this issue is really starting to get urgent

Có thể trả lời bằng tiếng Việt được không nhỉ? Tui không giỏi tiếng Anh thì phải làm sao? :o

It really depends on the way your host has set up your account. some of my sites use ftp.subdomain.domain.com others are like name@domain.com AS it varies. This problem is also happening to me right now. talk to the host and/or keep trying
