Ipod Nano 1 Gb

Recommended Posts

Apple Computer Inc. on Tuesday lauched a new 1-GB iPod nano, priced at $149.

The new iPod nano is distinctive in the company's device lineup for its ultrathin design, which Apple boasts is thinner than a pencil.

The nano is sharply discounted from the 4-gigabyte and 2-gigabyte iPod nanos currently available on the market.

The company also said it is cutting prices on 512 MB and 1 GB iPod shuffles to $69 and $99, respectively. Before the price cuts, a 512 MB shuffle could cost roughly $100, while a 1 GB shuffle could cost about $129.

"Now everyone can afford an iPod Nano," said Greg Joswiak, Apple's vice president of worldwide iPod product marketing, in a statement. He added that the iPod is the world's most popular digital music player, with over 40 million sold so far.

"With lower pricing, someone might buy a Shuffle for the car, and another one for the gym, and one for the office," said Forrester analyst Ted Schadler. "That strategy makes the iPod an accessory rather than the center of the digital music experience. That benefits Apple because it can sell more." Enditem

Yes, this is what I'm squirreling my cash away for as of late. The specs and the price are a great combination. Too good to pass up, in my opinion. Especially because I've been lusting after one of those dandy iPods for about 3 years now, but never had the initiative/cause to justify saving that much. Now it's only about $150, that's great! Can't wait to get my hands on it.

It's sort of pointless though if you think about it. It can't really carry much stuff. But I suppose it is sort of good for those that can't really afford much or just want the Nano not because for vast amounts of music but for the fact that it looks awesome. :D

I mean either you eat for a month or you give up eating for a month just to save for a new ipod.it would just be nice if this happened to alot more products out there.. I mean pretty much every new product out there is way above most of our budgets.. so c'mon big companies give us a break

I hate the iPod Nano because it is so easy to scratch. My friend has one and he can literally run his fingernail on the back of it and it permnantly scratches it.Also, when you hold it in your hand it just feels so delicate, almost like you can snap it in half.I hate how they also created their own sound format. It makes burning the music you OWN onto cd's to listen really hard.Thats just my opinion though...

yeah even at that price it's still too pricy just to play a few music files.I bought a 128mb one for $30, nice and small for skateboarding or running around just sitting in my pocket and I have had it for about 7/8 months or more now and it's still goin hard.I'm considering getting a new one soon with a bit more storage though but not sure on what to get. I know these newer iPod's are pretty small but I like smaller :).

Apple is a fashion accessory. Nowadays it's nothing more. Forget the "superior quality". Maybe compared to a no-name chinese knock-off, but other than that i think it's pretty much a level playing field for the major competitors. Creative and iRiver, to name a couple, also have great mp3 players that come at a much more decent price.
