Mobile Phone Version Of Gmail E-mail is it M-mail??

Recommended Posts

Google has offer a special version of Gmail e-mail.
it can be subscribed via mobile phone so that user can
quickly access to their e-mail.

The mobile e-mail service is available to U.S. cellphone
users at
https://accounts.google.com/ServiceLogin?service=mail&passive=true&continue=
https://mail.google.com/mail/
.
You can check your gmail anytime anywhere iff your mobile
phones has an Internet browser. you can view attached
photos and documents , and reply-by-call.

Great...isn't it?
I think we can check gmail not only on cellphone, but also on PDA.

But when I tried to access
https://accounts.google.com/ServiceLogin?service=mail&passive=true&continue=
https://mail.google.com/mail/
,
Mozilla reports invalid tag in XML:
XML Parsing Error: mismatched tag. Expected: .
Then I try internet explorer. it popup the file download window...

It seems the page is not valid XML.
Maybe it is because I am in Hong Kong right now.

yeah.. but i prefer checking my emails from the pc-internet itself! instead, i would prefer to have sms alerts to mobile when new email enters, but whtever, i wont be using it. it maybe cool for the ones using it, but you have to pay your phone company for using it, nah?

I don't think the pages designed to be accessed through WAP devices can be read properly through HTML Browsers - coz they're written in a variant of XML known as WML. I don't know much about the tagging structure of WML - but the differences might explain the errors you were getting.

well, This is good to see that google has launched this service...but the sad part is that it is only available in The U.S.!

Well, I actually dont mind..because these days I dont use GPRS to check my gmail account as I've got broadband with me but in earlier days I used to check Gmail account using another wap service.

wap.gmailwireless.com

You have to register on this website http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ and that serves your purpose...Good for those people who are outside U.S.

Though it is not an official Google portal but it is a good one as I've used it.
Also, pocket pc users can get the benefit out of it...just go on that website.

Content was too large...

And I don't understand, isn't this attented to be for mobile devices? Like Mobile phones? I have Sony-Ericsson T630, so it would have to work.. but it don't...
