Xbox 360 Glitches glitches is an understatement

Recommended Posts

As I gazed upon the news yesterday, I discovered something about the brand new Xbox 360 console, the successor to Xbox. It turns out that some systems lock up during gameplay. But the good news is, Microsoft is trying to fix this problem. When they do, they'll either fix all the consoles or exchange it for a new one.Personally, I'm really not surprised that this happened. I mean, Bill Gates (the dude in charge of Microsoft) decided to release their console before the competition had a chance to launch theirs off. So buyers of the Xbox 360 will already be satiated with their console, and decide not to waste money on any other consoles. Some people wanted to get this console first before anyone else. That's basically a way of saying, "Ha! I got this cool thing before you did!" That's really a choice of nature (a way of being superior than another), and also is quite stupid too, since they're now stuck with a glitched up model. The reason you should never buy a console when it first comes out is because it just came off right the market. Buying the system now means you get the oldest version. The gaming industry occasionally updates their product. They make better ones later on.Additionally, after you buy the console, all you have is a console! The games are still being developed. Usually on the day of the release, the system just has about five games to it's name. The five games are usually made to keep the players busy while they pave the way to better games currently being worked on. So you just blow off fifty bucks on the worst games out. Xbox 360's Call of Duty 2 is decent. But Call of Duty 2: Big Red One is almost as good and can be obtained for PS2, GameCube or Xbox instead. So yeah, the moral is, don't get new consoles the day it is released. Otherwise, your games might lock up like it does on the current version of Xbox 360 or the old version of PS2.

I dont own one of these systems nor will I but I have heard that the reaso for the lock up is that people are placing the consoles on the carpeted floor and they don't ventilate properly and heat up. If you place the console on a table like a coffee table then the console is able to ventilate properly and no lock up occur.

Well according to microsoft the glitch is only in a TINY amount of systems and is not caused by the SYSTEM IT SELF (Oh GEE THANKS GOD.............) no noy my the system but the POWER SUPPLY!!!! wow last time i checked everytime I built a computer I considerd the power supply part of my system but nooo according to microsoft it's not them it's what they put in!, Ok enough with the sarcasim for now aparently I think it's the head of the 360 project says it's overheating so far they are not offering any replacements that I have heard of but they said you can fix it your self by installing a new, more efficiant power supply...Back with sarcasim...New power supply with voided warrenty and potentially screwing up your whole BRAND NEW system or play with glitches???? Wow good choices well hopefully by the time I but one all the TINY amounts of units will have been sold!

the fix http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/

aparently, the powersupply is overheating, and the voltages falling outside of tolerance.
the unOFFIICIAL fix is ot have your power supply dangleing from a piece of string.

:) good ol slashdot

Segments on my local news reported that some 360 consoles are also having problems with controllers (not working, i.e. the system isn't registering their existence or some such stupid thing).I still can't believe that EVERY store selling those things in my area was packed with people lining up around the corners to try and get their hands on these things. Personally, I could do without freezing my butt off for a video game console that I *know* is going to have glitches and bugs. But what's really pathetic is that a woman spent just about her entire week's paycheck to get one for her son ... and was promptly ripped off at gunpoint. Yeah. Pretty sad.

What do you mean"Waste money on any other console" by that statment you are not only promoting the Xbox 360. But you are saying that the other consoles (The Revolution that is Nentendo Revolution, And the glorious PS3). Which those two consoles, although not out. Have much better tech specs, which means to get either of the two next gen consoles. (Xbox hasen't really made any major improvements or additions there new console. The gfx card is equivlent to a Radion 9800 pro. Which to me isn't worth of the title Next gen) Really wouldn't be a "waste of money".

I am guessing that the Xbox 360 is a Dreamcast all over again. They have horrible setup, Graphics that wont stand in the next gen console war, And they are trying to breaking the truce that Sony and Nintendo have made in the releacing in (The PS came out a month before the 64, the PS2 came out a month before ethe GameCube,And I am guessing the PS3 is gona come out a month before the Revolution). I personally stride to own bouth the PS3 and the Revolution.

My science teacher's XBOX 360 ran fine while playing HALO2 with me on XBOX Live! He said that none of his 360 games crashes on him and system link and everything else worked. Therefore, I don't know where's the glitches from....xboxrulz

Even if the Microsoft X-box 360 has a few glitches and faults, I would still buy it all the same. Surely the problems wouldn't stop the console from functioning perfectly would it? And i'm sure that Microsoft is doing their best to fix this.I still haven't played it...has it come out in the United Kingdom yet? And if it hasn't, when does it come out? By the way...if you need help with fixing the problems then just visit the Microsoft support pages for information. :)

I don't own any of the new systems IE (xbox, ps2, game cube, or now the xbox 360) But I am kept up to date with releases and media info. For one a friend of mine works for a video game store, and Microsoft undershipped many of the 360s, so already theres a shorted in systems and games... meaning not everyone that even preordered was granted a system. Also I've read in the paper that some games that are suppose to be compatiable aren't such as Ninja Gaiden. Also reading I saw that one person bought one, plugged it in and played for only 40 minutes before it 'broke' and was unable to play it. Many glitches if you ask me. I think this was a huge mistake by Microsoft, I think they rushed the release just to get it out before the PS3 release, so Sony wouldn't gather up all sales just like the PS2 did with the XBox.
