How Can I Create A "number Of Visitors" Script

Recommended Posts

Sorry, I am rather new on this forum, so I'm not quite sure it's the best place to ask this question, maybe a moderator should move my post to a more accurate subforum. However, I really would like to have this info. How can I add a counter in my page, counting the people visiting my webpage ? Is there a script "ready for use" somewhere on Xisto ?Regards Yordan

I'm not sure if Xisto has a counter. There should be a log of the number of hits in your cPanel setting though, but this is not viewable by the public....just you.

There are many of these scripts online. You just have to search for it in Google, should be pretty simple. There are a lot that are basically complete already but might need some minor changes here and there. Take a look at Matt's Script Counter. See if you can get that to work.

If you don't want to go through all of that, I think RapidCounter might be better since it looks like it's easier to setup.

Another way to go about it is thru the "preinstalled scripts" section under "CGI Center." When you get there look down the list for the "counter" link. When you click on that it will give you a lot of options on how to configur your counter, then click done and it will generate the HTML/CGI to insert into your page where you want the counter to appear.

@Logan : Yes, yes, yes ! thanks a lot !Preinstalled Scripts/CGI Center/Counter is exactly what I was looking for.Exactly, easy-to-use, with a lot of different styles settings. And, moreover, the "reset a counter" option I was looking for (I don't want to count while I am testing my own site).thanks againYordan

Actually if you're looking for amazing functionality I would check out some of the sites that host counters for you... my favourite is likely Bravenet. Not quite sure how far their functionality goes, but they certainly have a lot of choices when it comes to setting your counter up and displaying it.
