Whatever Happened To The Hurd?

Recommended Posts

I was just wondering, and have been for a while, is anything still going on with the HURD? I was interested in this, but I saw that development doesn't seem to have gone very fdar, and possibly even stopped when people got used to the Linux kernal as the "stand in" for the HURD.I know, the HURD is not Linux, but this seemed to be the most appropriate place to ask this, as it is slightly related.

No, HURD is a GNU operating system which Linux has practically replaced. The last time it was updated was before year 2000. It seems like if it has been abandoned. HURD has the Mach (OSX based on it) kernel for processing and other GNU tools to help it run. Together, it makes HURD.xboxrulz
