Any Ideas On How To Improve My Website?

Recommended Posts

Hey, I think it's nice. It loads fast and looks professional.1) If you add the dimentions of the images (width/height), then when the page loads the tables won't change shape. Like I said, that's just a small suggestion and I don't think it matters much.2) When I see your web site I wonder, "Who is Jimmy? And why should I look around and use this web site?" I think that this is just something that you might want to consider. Try to make it apparent to your visitors - what you're offering them through your site. Otherwise, it seems to be entirely personal rather than public. Maybe make a different heading image that speaks out more about your web site?3) Why do you have the cPanel log-in link at the foot of your page? Can't you change that?4) When you write anything on your web site, you should use proper spelling, grammar, and capitalize letters where needed.

Getting more visitors and returning visitors is tough. The only sure-fire way to attract more visitors is to add more content. For example, consider adding a games and a funny images section on your site because those are what people look for on Google when they're bored. Also, if you know anything that could help rising webmasters, then post tutorials on your site. When you give what people want and give it to them regularly, you will find flocks of returning visitors.

If you want, you could start off small by putting a small link to your site in your AIM profile. You could also give you site you friends in hope that they will give it to their friends and so on.

Try to avoid the personal stuff if you can because people usually don't care about that - no offense, Jimmy.

I mentioned Google above. One of the main reasons why popular sites are popular is because they're on Google and other major search engines. Use the Web Site Submit in your cPanel regulary to submit your website to major search engines.

Lastly, you can add a counter to your site to track all your visitors. I recommend statcounter at http://statcounter.com/ because it provides the best features for the best price - free - that I have seen.

Hope that helps. Good luck Jimbo!

jmiller87 you should mention the address of your site(and what is all about) when you think it is the right moment and place to do it - mention it in every forum you are in. That worked for me and my site:) And as a webmaster you should communicate with your visitor because if they do not like you they would not want to visit you web site.

When I tried to load you forum I received this message:

You are trying to access a restricted area.

We are Sorry, but this section of our site is for Registered Users Only.

I think that you should let the people view your forum, but not to write in it... because most of them may want to take a look at it but they could be very lazy then so they will not register and will leave your site.
