Mp3 Search Engine

I'm looking for a good site to find mp3's.I've been using singingfish and exploseek but they keep giving me ringtones and midis and I can't find the song I wantanybody have a goodone?

Um, honestly, I think your best bet if you want to download mp3s is downloading a program. I personally use Limewire. But I must warn you that if your computer is ever taken away for any reason, you can be fined for each and every mp3 you have on your computer that you got for free. My cousin (but then again he's not the brightest crayon in the box) downloaded a lot of songs off Limewire and was selling mixed cds at school and in the neighborhood. His computer was taken away from him and inspected. He ended up have over a couple hundred thousand songs. Most of them remixes and unreleased. Then he had download movies and was putting them onto dvd-r. He was using a stomper to put pics on the cd to make it look more realistic. He was fined I think about $25,000 just for the dvds, I dont know what he got for the songs. But yeah, if you want mp3s, your best bet is Limewire, its free and there are TONS of users!

yeah, it's best if you download a program. Such as winmx, soulseek, kazaa, etc. Unless you're looking for mp3's online so you can upload them on your site. Try emp3world.com, they don't have every artists in there and and each song but there are a decent amount of them. You can also try yourmp3.net. This one i think is down for the moment. Keep checking this site because you might find something you like in there. The bad thing about these two sites is that some mp3 links don't work. So it really depends on the song you want.

I agree with wykked_dreamz, Limewire or another peer-to-peer program is usually the best for mp3's, despite the danger of a hefty fine. However, if you are looking for unpopular songs (like orchestra music if you like that kind of stuff), you can use the audio seach engines at sites like All the Web or Altavista. Those were what I used until I found out about Limewire.

Another suggestion is IRC. I've been using it since the early days of the internet and its still working strong. It is a little bit complex to use but once you get the hang of it you won't be disappointed. For starters download mIRC (should be easy to find) and then do a search for irc tutorials. I dont know much about commercial music donloads, but I am fairly knowledgable in the feild of video game music. OCRemix.org and VGMix.com are sites loaded with thousands of fan submited video game arrangments and covers. Most of them are pretty good, a few of them suck, and a few of them are totally awsome. OCRemix is the better of the two because submisions must go through a judges panel, while vgmix allows any user to upload anything without any quality controll. Some of the artists have become sort of famous on the internet, such as Ailsean.

If you dont want to look through all the stuff to find the really good stuff, try out Dwelling of Duels. Its a monthly competition in which mostly guitar players, some piano players, and a saxophone player, compete to DESTROY each other with awsome video game music. It started out as a guitar shredding competiton, but has since evolved into a competiton in which all aspects of musical production are needed to win, including arrangment skills, production skills, and instrumental skills. And from the same community, in in just two weeks, a large amount of original albums are going to come rolling in. There is a thing called Auld Lang Sine, in which participatns are challanged to make a full album within a time frame. The summer edition deadline is August 1st, and that is when all the albums go up. The Winter Edition was pretty good, and about 40 people have signed up for the Summer edition

You don't have to use Limewire (I do though), you will get the same results with any P2P program that uses the Gnutella network. Kazaa runs on the Fast Track network, so results will be different.If you really don't want to illegally download songs, and risk going to court, etc, try getting a legal alternative such as Napster. You'll have to pay for every song, but it's not much (79p in the UK).

I agree that programs are better to use. More reliable and things of that sort.

However, if you do want to use the net, I have a site that I've known of for a while that I used to use to get music for my website. I'm not all that sure of it is still running, seeing as how I haven't been using music on my site for quite a while now. The site was pretty reliable and had a lot of artists. Espew worked well for me when I needed it, hope it does well for you.

I use emp3finder.com and mpee3.com to search for music. However, I use these only for posting on my webpage not for downloading.

While researching for places to find music I also came across these listed. I haven't really found them helpful personally, but maybe they will be of assistance for you...Windows Media, epitonic, and sumfun4u.com

Limewire indeed is a good P2P file sharing program. I used to use WinMX but I found I like Limewire much better. It seems a lot faster and connects better.

I used Limewire for a bit but uninstalled it due to its slowness. I heard lots of praises and compliments from my friends and they use it a lot.But, thanks to the people who post in this thread, I can probably find some Crazy Frog songs!! *dances around the room with full bass and treble*LOL

MP3? But mp3 are not just illegal songs - you can search ringtones for you mobiles and send them by irda or bluetooth

In re-get (http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/) you have search for MP3 poweded by some sites - maby you should try, but re-get isn't free, but you can download 30-day trial

Personally I think that programs like Kazza and Limewire gives you spyware and adware. Heck Kazza installs spyware on your computer the moment it gets put onto your computer. If you want to use something more safe and reliable I would use Torrents. Its safe because in some websites they have reviews of the things you are downloading, if someone says that they caught a virus then you know now to download it.

I'm a limewire junkie as well, but when I'm on a comp that doesn't have it installed, I use windowsmedia.com and the altavista.com MP#/Audio search tool. Between the two of them I can usually find what IU'm after, just sometimes not at the quality Limewire offers.
