Https http to https

Recommended Posts

Any one know how to make your website so it is still accesible by changing http to https? i don't want to... but i really want to know about it, i have read some source that say, you should move everything in http folder to https one (i don't know if there is any folder called https in my cpanel), but that's not what i want, because it is mean that your website is become unaccesible by using http... what i want is my website become available by http or https without have to copy all the thing and doubling your space....

Https I think are those pages that are secured or had been secured. I think I've read about it on article regarding Secured Socket Layer. It's suppose to keep the pages secure especially when you have on online business that conducts transactions that require secured pages. But then again I might be wrong. Try looking it up on web development sites.

You will need to get it installed and it is pretty expensive. also you will have to get a dedicated IP address. So, Https is nothing but hypertext transfer protocol which is Secured. It is used for SSL ( Secured Socket Layer ).

As far as I know, u first need to have a signature certificate from an authorithy like Verisign. You need to buy it from them. This certificate would be needed for the encryption and decryption process for the https site. The certificate is a public - private key combination where the private key would be given to u and public key available to all. Cheers.

I have been accessing two sites which has got url starting from https, they are secured sites which need to be visited with security certificates installed in your computer. It means the owner of the site can put any number of certificates (they sent me those certificates) to visit the site. The site I use to visit has got two layers of security - meaning I need to install two certificates. These sites are very secured... and if the certificate is meant only for IE, FF users cannot even visit.
