A Great Idea For This Forum

Recommended Posts

I have a great idea for this section of this forum. There needs to be a Novice area and a Advanced area. I see so many "What can i use to make a game in one day" posts. It's crazy. The novice area should be for the people that want to make a game with better graphics and gameplay than Half Life 2. the advanced area would be for people that understand that game making takes alot of time, patience, and skill.

Hmmm... I agree too.

I'm a newbie and dont know much and if all the posts are cluttered into one category then it'll be hard to find out the Novice from Advancedd

Peace,

I understand what you are saying, but I'm not sure if there is enough activity to warrent splitting the forum up. I think it works fine like it is. I don't feel that it is too hard to sort through the noivce and advanced topics, but that's just me. I see where it could get tiresome if there were a lot of threads to go through.

I think you gamey programming people should put up a continuous how-to-make-a-game tutorial thing (ie make a thread and keep adding content (not comments) to it) and delete all the trashy posts that say "Help-me-I-want-to-make-a-game".

I totaly agree with you icedMetal, on one point at least. I have seen so much topics with titles like "how can I make a game" and "whats a good game-making program", I'm just gettin sick of it. But I don't know if your idea is a solution for that. Maybe it's better to put a tutorial "how to make a game for beginners" in the sticky section of this forum. And if people still post that kind of posts then give them a warning, I think that will do it.

Well, ya jet your idea could work. Have any of you ever done those "never-ending story" posts? If you have you will know what I am talking about. Someone could post and idea and some begining code. Then someone else post more code. People could edit/revise the code and add their own ideas. Again, this is just an idea.

That would be a great idea. That would make this forum a little more organized. Even though this forum is good I think that it can be a little more organized but that is just my thought.........................................................................

.......

However I would have to agree with FearfullyMade:

But then again one could argue and say that by doing this it would make the forum more appealing and draw more people to use this forum? But that is just my opinion.... Which I guess does not mean much for this topic.......... :):)
