Hey LimdjYou are lucky i have the same motherboard :) I mean the drivers in the beginning whem you must hit F6.When installing windows. Else it wont reconise your Sata disk.If you have used the drivers from VIA Arena you have faulty ones. They only help windows detect the Sata disk. But as soon as you load windows you will get your error.Greetz Luccie

Hey Limdj

At least one thing is for sure you have to reinstall windows again.
I have used the drivers from this site: Planet AMD64
You have to register FREE FIRST!!!

Else i have this site: 64bitstuff
Not as big as planet amd 64 but a little bit different.

And: AMD64 Drivers]

I have used thes audio drivers: Realtec AC'97 drivers

If you have a tv card you probably must wait some time because there are only 2 drivers out for 2 tvcards so.

If you needs some more drivers just tell me. :)

If you are dutch you can find some information on this site: [XP64] Het WinXP x64 driver en 64-bit software topic

I'm probably going to sound like an idiot for asking this...But what is Windows X64?And is there a Windows version that is based off of Unix? Or... is Microsoft being all cool and junking any Unix possibilities?

Hey,I have an AMD Athlon64 3000+ CPU, so I'm guessing I could upgrade my OS to X64, right?I'm just wondering though, because I have not really heard a lot about this OS, what are the advantages of the 64 bit OS over regular Windows XP? Does it run faster or cope with multi-tasking any better? Does it look any different from regular XP, or does it have a different interface? If it really isn't worth the upgrade then I won't bother with it... but if it has some great advatages then I might have to give it a go.luccie... what do you mean by not being able to "mount images"? If there are more problems like this with X64 then I will just stick with XP, it really doesn't bother me anyway, I don't really have any problems with it.

I think so. It has a 64 in there, anyway; I hope they wouldn't put that in a 32-bit processor :)

I'm just wondering though, because I have not really heard a lot about this OS, what are the advantages of the 64 bit OS over regular Windows XP? Does it run faster or cope with multi-tasking any better? Does it look any different from regular XP, or does it have a different interface?

I think it looks mostly the same, but runs somewhat faster because it handles 64 bits at a time instead of 32: it's a 64-bit processor.

As well a 32-bit processor supports 4 gigabytes of memory without any 'help'; 64-bit processors support 16 exabytes, i. e. probably more than your computer will ever have. :)

Well, I dunno. Those guys used to think 4 gigabytes was a heck of a lot. My first hard drive had 512 megabytes (?) and now that's standard RAM.

Oh, and finally: I think 32-bit applications will need to be emulated, which is... weird, but hey, it'll work until Windows X64 SP2; then it'll be overcome by Kludges.

OK, I'm getting off-topic. I'd buy it if I were you. :)
