HIBERNATE :D Windows XP has ability to keep open your program and data when you shutdown your computer. This ability called HIBERNATETo enable this ability, go to Control Panel and open Power Options. In Hibernate tab tick “Enable Hibernation” and then press ok.Now click “ Turn of computer “ from Start menu and then hold down SHIFT, you can see that “standby” changed to “hibernate” ,now click on “hibernate”.Be successful Soleimanian :D

When enabling HIBERNATE ability, all information is copied from RAM to HDD. When you turn your computer on, the information from HDD is copied back to RAM and then Windows XP starts. Everything looks like your computer was never shut down :D

yeah thanks for information but where the data is actually stored ... in hard disk ??? i am asking the whole process??

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

When you put your computer into hibernation, everything in computer memory is saved on your hard disk, and your computer is switched off. When you turn the computer back on, all programs and documents that were open when you turned the computer off are restored on the desktop.

cool i didnt know all about this. i used it so much times the hibernation but never knew it saved the RAM memory into the hard drive.i used it most of the times and i keep seeing these funky stuff on the screen loading and unloading stuff. now everything comes very clear.I think theres another way to hiberate your computer. press CTRL + ALT + DELETE > the task manger window should show up.click "Shutdown" on the menu, and "hibernate". after it will do these funky stuff and shutdown. then the next time you power on, it willl do it again, LOL. and it will load up just the way you last left it.

yea, i tend to use hibernate and/or stand-by instead of actually turning off my computer during the day. Of course, i'd let my PC rest at night by shutting it completely down, but during the day it seems faster to simply use the stand-by/hibernate ^_^

While it is faster, all the errors are saved too (that the programs and OS add up), so you have to do a fresh restart every 18 CPU hours
