Actionscript2.0 Tutorial For Beginners? Need a bit of help here...

Recommended Posts

Does anyone here know of any good, free online resources for learning ActionScript2.0 from a beginner's standpoint? I really would like to learn it, but I just can't find anything that's helped me out at all. I need something that starts me at the beginning and explains what everything means. I've Googled and Yahoo'd my brains out. ;) Can anyone help me out here? Thanks...

I moved this topic here since it's not a tutorial but a request for a tutorial. ;)Request tutorials in the respective forums or on the "What if..." forum, then the tutorial itself should go in the tutorial section.Thank you.Nils

There are so many of them out there on the web... Just google for "beginner actionscript tutorials" and you'll get loads of hits. And if you are being just plain and simple lazy, like I am at times :P here you go:

Actionscript 2 code collection for Designers and ArtistsActionscript2.0 Tutorial For Beginners?

http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/

Visual Code is a collection of Actionscript codes specifically for designers and artists. The benefit of this collection is that it does not require any previous knowledge in programming. We look at it as a source of inspiration and a further education for professionals, teachers and students in the areas of Design and Media Arts.

if you want to be able to write your own codes i recommend learning a simpler program language and then that gives you all of the basics and the you can build up eaiser from there. i myself am plannign on learning some programming i am going to learn python first. python may not be used alot but it is a good simple language to learn and then i would learn my way up the languages untill i know them all that would be the best thing that i could do. i could actually imagine myself in 10 years time being to create codes which seem complex to most people but i write them in a matter of monets without testing and not much longer with testing.

linked a button to a Word document from a folderActionscript2.0 Tutorial For Beginners?Hi,

I’m new in flash. I linked a button to a Word document from a folder. The folder is called “portfolioimages” located in drive C and the file name is “teaching and learning materials2”. The button’s instance name is “challenge”

This is the code I used and it worked perfectly well.challenge.OnRelease = function(){GetURL("C: portfolioimages teaching and learning materials2.Doc",self);}The problem now is after I have copied the folder and the project onto a CD the link did not work again. Can anyone help me use a code that will allow the link to work when copied onto a CD? Thank you. Daniel Konin-reply by Daniel Konin
