Free Project Hosting thanks to contribute to the list.

I have been searching for free project hosting for some days.But most of free project hosting will not accept hosting immediately.

Is there some qualify free project hosting server that I can

apply to and start my project immediately? Appreciate for your help.

Try the following sites:
1. http://www.ibiblio.org/fosphost/exhost.htm
This gives you a comparative chart of features offered by all the free open source project hosting sites including the ones in your list. Pretty barebone page - but coverage is extensive.
2. The google directory for the same: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/
3. Unmaintained Free Software - another such host: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/

If you developing a project and the Programming language is Java then u can try

Which already have lot of catagories of projects and just u submmit the request for hosting ur project, with needed details. After approval you are allowed to start your project.

Allmost all the options are available there including the CVS, Project Members maintainances, Owership, Opting for License......

the third is a very famous community that give a lot of help and support to GPl project

I think sourceforge.net is a great place for all of us. But if you know any other better open source sofware development website, please let me know. Post here

There is also Savannah... they are splited into two sites:

for Gnu software [savannah.gnu.org]
and for non-Gnu software [savannah.nongnu.org]

they are hosting projects like Swf-Tools, Battle for Wesnoth and many, many others...

You're right about sourceforge being a great place to visit for developers. Coming in second under that would be freshmeat. Pretty much the same concept as sourceforge, just not as large.

I think that sourceforge.net is pretty fast in asia. The speed is very cool. The problem maybe from your ISP. I'm asian

well i only uses sourceforge no question that they are really good at their work.and if you are not devoloping a good project then it is hard to get space/hosting on their site.
