Unfortunately I was also raised using windows and now I have used it for so long don't think changing to linux is really worth the truble. Anyway I use:1. OS: Microsoft Windows XP (SP2)2. Web Server: Xisto's Apache web server3. Database: I am currently experimenting with MySQL database4. Dynamic Page Language: usually PHP5. Page Designer: Macromedia Dreamweaver (If it's just something quick and simple i'll use notepad)6. Graphic Designer: I really need to find a good one of these!

darren, if you are looking for a good cheap gaphics design program(assuming you are buying this not downloading it), then go get a copy of photoshop elements. Even better, go buy a wacom graphire 3 tablet 4x5(will make your life MUCH easier). It costs a bit more than elements but it (I believe, check before buying) comes with a copy in the box. If it does that is a perfect buy.

I am indeed still young and I know I should try linux as it is so much more stable and secure. As for getting up early I hadn't gone to bed yet. I'm on school holidays now and am making the most of it by sleeping all day and going on the net all night ^_^ .

hasbang, just want to know your age?...OS selection;for me, it really depends on what we would like to used the pc for. because in web design, PC are used for two tasks:1. designing2. serving ( web server)Designing.Designing requires easy and beautiful interface. I think best solution for design is either Ms Windows or Mac. Some say Mac is very nice, but i never used it.Serving.Serving is to put your site to work. This includes setting up www server, databases, etc. For me these are the attributes for selecting OS for servers:1. OS stability. 2. Protection from viruses, hackers3. Performancefor me, Linux scores the highest.just remember, OS selection is based on the task the PC should do. Some OS are better for some task. Some just dont.
