Hi there,An comment here..:-)Funny to see that I'm not alone to have find out that PHP is more logical that ASP and ASP dot Net, and then either that PHP is the most popular.I'm self learnd into both basic html for arround 10-12 years ago, and did get bored and interested into creating dynamical pages, and did waste alot of time to try to getting wise on ASP. PHP really rules.Cheers!BrgdsJens

hm, this has been discussed about 25 times before.to be short:asp: don't do it. it sucks.php: easy to learn, powerfull, easy to find free hostingasp.net: very powerfull, a bit harder to learn, but now you can script in C# which is much easier than vb.net in my opinion. bad thing is find a host. it'll cost you more. another bad thing is that you'll find less examples and open source projects than when using php. so you'll have to do more yourself

I too am going to have to say PHP. I know quite a bit of ASP, only because I had QBasic and then Visual Basic in high school. But I am currently getting into PHP, and it seems way more powerful and universal to use. ASP is windows based and it's hard to find free hosting that supports ASP. PHP hosting is easier to find, and requires little modifications to be run from OS to OS (ie: very few differences between PHP for UNIX and PHP for Linux). And PHP is open source, which makes it all the better.

ASP isn't favored, I see. =P

PHP is opensource, extremely well documented, overall accepted as The Server Side language. and ASP is just yet again a marketing attempt from Microsoft to cease customers and get them away from the opensource community.

Long live PHP.

PHP is definetely superior to ASP with the easy to learn functions and its similarities to html. AS lhunath said:ASP is just yet again a marketing attempt from Microsoft to cease customers and get them away from the opensource community. That is so true, another global effort from microsoft to brainwash the minds of coders, but luckily most of us in this topic believe PHP is the better language, which is true.Much has been done with PHP eg. The making of Content Management Systems, the makinf of forums...I believe better things have been done and still are being done with the use of the PHP language.
