The best editor ever!! The title sais it all.

I just really wanted to recomand a great editor called WebPage Maker. It is so easy to use. You need no html knowlege. Simply drag and drop objects onto the page and position them freely in the layout. It comes with several pre-designed templates that help you to get started. It also includes ready-to-use navigation bars that can be inserted into the page. Additional features include built-in color picker, Java script library, image library and built-in FTP client. The really greate thing about it is that you can hide all sort of comersials stuff by simply adding something else over it. When you upload a file to your host, the banners on your page won't show. Everything is put on to of it for some reason. WebPageMaker is not just for starters. It really is greate, and has a lot of features. It's not completely free, but it's totally wort the money. These webpage creators are called WYSIWYG, What You See Is What You Get. I started with them too, but you're gonna have to start to learn html manually because they are very limited in what you can do.

I started learning using FrontPage as a WYSIWYG. Then at school, we studied HTML. It's not that hard since I already have a vast knowledge in webmaking that I learned from Frontpage. After that, I tend to move to Dreamweaver MX 2004 because of it's popularity and powerful WYSIWYG editor than FrontPage.

i use sitespinner to build my site, its a WYSIWYG with extra's like transition,mouseover etc..i think its one of the best site builders around especially as me and HTML dont get along very well you can download a trial version from here http://www.virtualmechanics.com/products/spinner/

 

Meh, I don't use webpage editors, ESPECIALLY not FrontPage. I just use NotePad and program all the 'raw' HTML.

if i used raw html my site would lok like it had ben through a mincer.lol....i just cant some to get my head around it for some reason

I don't think WebPageMaker is limited at all. You can add all sorts of scripts to your pages. It's really great and easy. You'll save a lot of time on using this editor!!

May be you can use your wysiwyg to make the structure of your web page but, and I sign it, you will evolutionate (or involutionate?) into code to improve something, to clean something, to fix something which you can't with the editor or just to see how the code looks. Try to use an editor wich don't insert their own code or alter the existing one: Dreamweaver is my favorite. Never use an editor who needs add-ons to run the pages in the webservers. Did you hear about Front Page extensions?

I've never used any WYSIWYG programs for any major site creating but i have tested front page and some other thing (for some reason i can't remember the name). I dont like WYSIWYG programs for one reason, limitations = frustrations (look at me i can rhyme). With some editors you can insert some raw html but it is just annoying switching between modes. When i switch i often get confused and end up putting it in the wrong place or something. I will stick with notepad thankyou very much.

In the first steps i start create web pages only with notepad and my imagination what i want to see in IE. Then i start to use Frontpage(simple and no the best editor). Now i stop very long time in MX series(Flash, Dreamwaver). But the engine for my web page is still maked up with notepad. It's a kidie level to paste web with fragments by automatized editor.

I rely on Dreamweaver for most of my editing. Once in a while I use frontpage, but not that often. I do use DiDa because they are able to edit my chinese websites so it depends what website I need it for.But I would say Dreamweaver is the best
