What's Going On?

Recommended Posts

I've been trying to get in here for 2 days now and kept getting a file not found error page. My hosting credits are down to near zilch, I'm going to be hard pressed to catch up now. And I really don't need any more drama or worries in my life right now.

I've been signing into Xisto recently, but not yesterday so I'm not sure if something specifically went wrong yesterday. I have not been posting much, but I do check the shoutbox every now and then and although there is not a lot going on right now, there is always a slow period before the forum gets buzzing with activity.Over the past couple of weeks, I have been looking at the Laravel framework for PHP, so there just might be something that I can post about to the PHP sub-forum with a thread about using Laravel to put together the MVC structure within an appication. It is quite similar to FuelPHP, a notch above CodeIgniter, and a step down from CakePHP and the Zend Framework.I'm not quite sure of what people really want in software development because earlier we had frameworks that provided the minimum needed to build a web application, then came web application development frameworks that tried to do as much as possible so software developers do not really have to put in much effort into writing applications. Those did seem quite promising but they were difficult to use for people who are trying to develop applications for the first time with the framework, so microframeworks became popular that once again attempt to do as little as possible. I guess the grass is always greener on the other side so there are times when we want something that is feature-rich when all we have is a barren framework that can do very little and there are other times when we have a do-it-all framework for web development and what do programmers demand? They want a barebones framework that does not do much simply because they were using the full-featured framework at the time. In either case, having a lot of different options is the good that comes out of it all.

haha.. Sorry, something was going fishy with the memory tables causing server to swap. It my statement sounds strange... I can explain it in a new topic :) The good part is, I fixed it and I know How to implement that memory thing to make sites a hell lot Faster. :)

Ok, another question on this same subject matter. How soon does my web site get taken down if I don't have enough hosting credits to pay the months bill? I'm going to be hard pressed to get it done by the seventh or eighth when it comes due. I'm really trying but it's going to be awfully close. Is there any grace period before it comes down or the day it's due its gone if not paid?

Now I'm really starting to get paranoid. I've been making posts for 3 days now and mycents has not updated in all that time. Feel like I'm really flying in the dark here. I only show 98 cents in my account, same as it was 3 days ago, but I have made several posts.

Sheepdog, I justed noticed your post. My mycents is not increasing either. I was afraid it was because I was not active on the forum for a while but now I see I was not the only one effected.

Yes, the same here, might be an after effect of the database crash, who knows?Sheepdog, if you are worried about your credit balance, especially if you have not collected enough credit through "force majeure" or an "act of God". or whatever they call those cases, just raise a ticket at Xisto, listing the same concerns you did here. The staff at Xisto are very understanding people, i am sure they will propose some kind of compromise or something.

Mrdee, you are probably right. I think I have a few more days yet, so I will give it a bit more time and hope for the best. But the help staff has always been really good, I'm sure something will give, it usually does. It's just that the world has to make me fret and worry awhile before it straightens itself out.
