A Few Pictures From My Collection

Recommended Posts

I love photography and make the most of it with my Nikon L10(A gift from a close friend :)). Throughout the years I've generated quite a collection of pictures ranging from random things, my pets, family/friends and things from Nature. Mind you, though there are more than 10,000 pictures I am posting only a few.. Feel free to post your comments :)

A butterfly that decided to use my hand as a pit stop.

This is pretty hilarious since I happened to chance by these buffaloes grazing in a field. And the two of them decided to investigate further, the one on the right actually charged towards me :P

A common weed here, very pretty though.

A furry caterpillar!

My youngest grand daughter, though she is the demon spawn now, she looked so cute back then :P

Nice, very nice actually. I was impressed especially with the butterfly one. That's because for the past few weeks the butterflys have really been swarming my cosmos flowers and I have wanted to take pictures of them sitting on a flower, and have found it next to impossible to catch them with their wings open, they are always folded up and not very pretty when I try to snap the pictures. The big bovines, are those water buffalo? We don't have any critters around here that look like that. That's probably my favorite shot, I love the bird sitting on one of their backs.

Thank you :) and I totally agree with you, butterflies are troublesome to capture especially with a ghetto camera  So I usually setup sports mode and crank up the lights so I keep clicking until I find something good. This one was by far the luckiest shot since the butterfly popped out of nowhere onto my hand and it stayed still until I could pull out my camera and take a picture (I keep my camera on me all the time :)).

Yeah, they are water buffaloes, during the monsoon the herdsmen usually let them loose to graze wherever they wish, the birds are common herons here and they sit atop the bovine to pick pests off their back. I have a picture of a heron taking a step onto the back, looks cute.

The latest pic was of a lightning storm at a relative's place, I had to take close to 200 shots and only 7 were salvageable. The best one is below

Oh boy do I know that feeling! You wouldn't believe the number of shots I have to take to get even a couple decent puppy pictures. And many sites want you to put up 3 pictures, both sides and a frontal shot, so I can really go threw the pictures in a hurry. Digital cameras are nice, but they all have that delay, from the time you push the button to the time the picture actually takes, and believe me a puppy can move a whole lot in that amount of time! It can be very frustrating. Then you have those little terrier pups that won't hold still for 1 second, let alone 3 or 4 to take a picture.

That's really strange, when I click on your picture links I get an error message that says I don't have permission to view them. And I couldn't see them at all, only the link in your original message, but since I've hit reply I can see the small views of them. But even then when I click on them I get the same error message. Weird.

Omg! Finally, some one who understands how frustrating it can be while taking pictures of cuteness. While photographing my kitten, half the pictures would end up being trashed since things would move just as the shutter did its job. Digital cameras are handy since most of my collection is candid and impulsive.. But a professional camera would be so much better.

That's odd. I am not sure why it is doing that.. I've reattached the images for you. The one with the buffaloes, you should definitely zoom in on that one, I actually caught the bird going towards the neck of the buffalo :D
