Javascript And Internet Explorer Fix What To Do If JS Doesnt Work In IE

Recommended Posts

It may have happened to you before, but sometimes JavaScript just doesn't work in Internet Explorer. There is a very simple fix. Just go to Start > Run > regsvr32 jscript.dll. That repairs the jscript database. I advise to use FF instead though.

There are obviously a dozen browsers doing better than IE, so why give yourself a headache on how to fix javascript with IE. Just change your browser . It's easier.

I did. A game I play though runs on the IE rendering engine. If something doesn't work in IE it won't work on my game. D=

This does work if your browser is not corrupted. In most cases the browser gets corrupted and so the JavaScript does not run properly giving error messages.
In my opinion you may try to upgrade the Internet Explorer to the latest version. If that does not help then create a new user and copy all your favorites and documents in the new account. I had this problem solved by creating a new user account as an administrative previlage and copying all my settings resolved my default search engine error.

To be specific with my problem, it was an error that was caused when I changed the default search engine from Bing to Google. The search would show the Google icon but when I pressed the searched box it gave results from Bing and not from Google. I then deleted Bing as the search engine so that there is no conflict between the two. It then started to gibe error message that there is a change in the default search engine and a message window popped up to change the default search provider every time I opened the browser. The only solution that worked for me was to create a new user and use the default settings if IE from there. Finally I discarded the old user account.

Jeez...you shouldn't have to go to all the trouble.. go to the Mozilla Download section and get Firefox 3.6 or any other good browser. Internet Explorer is very oldish browser that we will always require fixes to stay up with the new browser levels. You might want to try Opera or Chrome also. If you are Social Person try Flock.
