Does anyone know how this may be acheived with a flash gear animation that needs to spin when the web page is scrolled? How To Make An Item Scroll With You On The Page.

I have a project that I am working on and I designed a flash gear for a webpage that resembles the teeth for the gear to interact with. The gear has a menu item on each tooth. I need help in getting the gear to only spin accordingly when the webpage is scrolled. Please help.

thats not what hes looking for. The background "movement" is a simple CSS line that fixes the background of the page so it doesnt move, the text just scrolls over it instead like the ending credits in as movie. He wants a flash object to move when a user scrolls the page. The only way i can think of doing this is to have flash listen for the event of "mouse 3" which is the scrollwheel. I dont know the event name in flash but a google search for something like "flash actionscript scroll mouse wheel event" should produce the goods.Once you have the event you can program it to trigger a function which moves the gear accordingly.
